We'll likely just get sandwiches in the future though, because the combos are basically deconstructed sandwiches and end up just being messy to eat. Clean, nice ambiance. Took off one star just because the waitresses weren't very attentive to us. They seemed to serve other customers before us time and time again, and we had to try very hard to flag someone down to get our complementary cups of orange juice, extra napkins and check. They aren't short staffed, we think they just preferred to interact with Spanish-speaking customers. Other than this service aspect, we really like it 10/10 and will be back.

If you are like me, and you also crave nothing but delicious, homemade chicken soup when you are sick, look no further. When my mom is too far away to bring me her soup, I get the Caldo De Gallina from here. Its delicious and warm and so nourishing. It has a rich broth, veggies, potatoes, and a chicken leg. Perfect for when all I want is broth with some bites of chicken and veggies in between. I also got an order of the steamed veggies as an add on and was really wonderfully surprised by them. They were so much more delicious than I anticipated. Perfectly steamed, heavily seasoned and a good dose of veggies. Thanks for keeping me sane and fed during a nasty cold, El Gordo!

Staff were friendly and quick to seat us. We unfortunately did have an issue with one of the original meals (the ropa vieja), and the server was quick to switch the meal for another and help us with this. Place is cute but crowded inside, so we opted to sit outside. Very cute seating with shade on the side tables. Prices were moderate for the food, nothing to complain about. Parking in the area is hard. It's an overpopulated town with street parking that is always full. If you do find street parking, walk down the whole block and read signs, they have odd street cleaning hours and signs are typically posted at the beginning of the street so you could miss it. I'd highly recommend this place!

Here is one of my tried and true favorites - You ever wonder why you never hear "I just had the best Dominican food!?" Because, well I don't know but I'm here to Stan for La Gran Parada!!! My fave thing to get here is the roast chicken. Not too sure about what farm said chicken was raised on, but it's $5 for a half. They have all the rice, beans and yucca you could want for a couple dollars extra. The rice is always moist. Beans are seasoned - just the right amount of spices to be balanced. Yucca. . . Moist and buttery. Maduros are maybe the best I've had. A burnt carmelized crust gives way to custardy buttery bliss. It's easy to scarf these down and wonder where they all went. Okay let's talk about the red onions for a second. Plump, tangy and generously portioned. Aces. Pernil is juicy on the inside, crispy crackly skin on the outside. Flavor packed seasoned to perfection. The fat is marbled and hot when served. Some kind of magic. I may have a culinary arts degree but I leave this to the experts. Service - no frills counter service. Be direct in asking for what you want, kindly to ensure you receive the right order. Not sure if they will modify for food allergies. Good luck and be patient. Yes they have cult favorite County Club soda here!! Similar to the glass bottle Jarritos but make it Dominican. And water and some other can sodas. Also they make a sweet passion fruit drink that is a must try. It's a tiny hole in the wall spot. Maybe 4 tables. Bring cash if you can. Enjoy this gem of a spot. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2020 and beyond!
