When Flowers for No Particular Reason Day comes up on your calendar, you have hundreds of stores to choose from. Downtown it seems there is a flower stand on nearly every corner. This one is prominent, as it is both large and colorful. Bouquets range from $5 to $13, and they take credit cards. Fresh flowers come in on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The business license posted under the cash register said "Rincon Flowers." I asked the clerk whether they moved inside when it rains, and discovered that we had a communication problem. I didn't know the Spanish word for rain, and she didn't recognize the English word, so I used Laverne and Shirley style pantomime to get the question across. She said no, she is on the sidewalk all the time, and there are two stores. Then we danced our second dance, where she apologized for not knowing a lot of English, and I honored that her English was better than my Spanish. Great flower stall in the heart of Fidi. Decent selection and the florist is very friendly and helpful. Very fair price compared to most of the flower shops in the area. A bouquet of tulips (my girlfriend's favorite) with vase is normally about $22. We both work in the area so I'll regularly pick some up and drop them at her office. Much less expensive than buying from elsewhere and having them delivered...that will run you closer to $50 or $60. read more

My coworker and I walk by here everyday and we have always loved their arrangements. When I was planning my wedding this year, she suggested I talk to them about flowers, which I had never even thought to do! It ended up being the best advice ever. Gary was so easy to work with and not only was the cost very reasonable but I couldn't have asked for a more perfect arrangement. I just provided a image of what I was envisioning (a pastel, wildflower look), and it turned out beautiful. I love passing by during my lunch breaks; the arrangements are beautiful! My friend was recently married and used Rincon and it couldn't have been more perfect. I was there when she placed her order and Gary was nice, helpful, and understood what she wanted. She just printed one picture of what she wanted, he said those flowers were in season, and she got just that! The price was super affordable too! It did seem like kind of a risk because they didn't have a book of past weddings but she could tell from their arrangements that they really couldn't go wrong. They were able to deliver to her Sonoma wedding and the on-site coordinator took it from there (did you know that was their job and not the florists?!). I would recommend Rincon to anyone planning a wedding or just anyone looking to pickup an arrangement! I read some of the negative reviews and most seem to be made by those with a entitlement issues. It's flowers people and their beautiful! Also, putting an arrangement together is art, so if you go picking flowers out it's pretty valid for the artist to get upset. While the flowers were DECENT and OK..... I came to realize I was double charged ($37.92) on my purchase by this small boutique flower shop. Initially, I thought this was not a big deal and figured the shop would be happy to reimburse me immediately. Right?... I was wrong, the owner has been reluctant to be straight forward and simply reimburse me on the spot. I asked him if he could simply give me back the money in cash, he said no. He explained to me he did his part on trying to reroute the double bill back into my account (because I payed with my debit card). The owner basically said, "I did all I could do but you're on your own". Knowingly that I still have not received the payment that he owes me back from over billing me, he basically toned to me to fuck off and good luck. He did not take into consideration how insensitive he was about this entire matter and that he simply should have refunded me in cash. I've visited back 3 times since the incident attempting to receive my refund and still have not received it. People, do not shop here. You can find better shops elsewhere where they will put people FIRST over selfish agenda's and overall poor judgment in customer service. I give this place a major two thumbs down. It's so basic, when a customer has been over billed... the right thing to do is to take care of it immediately and respectably. Neither of these have been done. The owner's name is Gary, he is awful with people and clearly has problems with basic customer service skills. Stay away from this shop folks. Not worth your time, energy, and effort. I've purchased flowers from both the outside stand and the shop inside Rincon. The sidewalk stand has an OK selection of the common garden variety. Nothing special compared to other sidewalk shops downtown they carry a much wider selection of flowers. I much prefer the inside shop - they carry orchids, lillies, tulips, etc. and they come with vase and all. I paid $35 recently for some gorgeous soft pink phalaenopsis orchids in a sage green blown glass vase. They were for my mom, so I didn't want some ordinary sidewalk stand flowers. I know, $35 isn't cheap, butconsidering I was buying them downtown and they came with such a beautiful vase, I thought the price was acceptable. read more

Dealing with these people was one of the most unnecessarily difficult experiences of my life. The story: I had a list of errands to run. Among them was; picking up giants tickets as a present for my girlfriends birthday, and having them delivered in a nice flower arrangement. I picked this place (Rincon Flowers) because it is close to where she works and I knew that there was less risk of something happening to the tickets along the way. I understand that its is sensitive material and this flower company was particularly nice to have taken them on as a liability, which is not something they normally do. That is the only thing that validates this one star rating. If I could leave it blank I might consider it. Anyway, I forgot the piece of paper at home with the exact address of where she works and figured that it was an easy fix, wrong. When I got there, I mentioned that I didn't have the address in the hopes that someone would just know where it was because, oh I don't know, maybe they DELIVER IN THAT AREA EVERY DAY! But they did not have a clue where it was. Fair enough. The lady was right next to a computer, maybe she could've googled it. But I ended up having to call information who gave me an out of date address. How was I to know that? ITS INFORMATION! So I paid for the flowers and drove home, excited to get a call from my GF about it. But instead I get a call from Rincon telling me that it's an old address and that now they want to charge me an extra $10 delivery fee because they went all the way there and back. But how in the hell do you charge someone for a delivery that was never made? You can't sell empty cups of lemonade can you? I was at home by now, so I looked up the correct address like anyone else with any common sense might. I told them that to go ahead and charge my card when the flowers were delivered. Moments later on I get a call from Gary. He wants me to call my GF and make sure that she is in the building. Really? So I have to call her and have this strange, unprovoked conversation just to make sure that she's in the damn building. I call Gary back and confirm that she's there. He's nervous about the tickets, and I understand that, but it's seriously right up the god damn street. So they were eventually delivered and everything was in tact. So I get a call the following week about the $10 charge that I owe. I happen to be a busy person, so it kind of slipped my mind. Besides, I told them to just charge me for it upon delivery. I admit that maybe I didn't get around to this bull$#it charge as soon as I could've. But I was not trying to avoid it. So this guy Gary leaves a message on my phone sounding like a real tough guy. He must be a big fan of the Sopranos or something, this is the actual message: "Hey Hank, listen, I dont wanna go over and ask (girlfriend) for the delivery fee I know shes right down the street. I'm sure you'll want to take care of it.But I wouldn't have a problem going down there. So, lets not play footsies, pay us it. It's your negligence that we had to pay out extra for the delivery service, to do this, okay! I cant...I will go down there, and if you want to confront me come see me, I'll be here in the afternoon, not a problem." Because of the threatening tone he had in the message. Part of me wanted to go down there just to see what he would do. But the guy works at a flower shop...enough said. Needless to say I do not recommend this place, there are plenty of other flower shops in this area. Gary if you're reading this, here are some tips: 1. Get in touch with Google 2. Make reasonable compensations to keep customers coming back (think about it, my GF works right up the street, at $50 for a half dozen, you could have dropped the measily $10 fee for a recurring customer (me). Lets say I come back 3 more times this year and buy a half dozen each time, you could have made $150 in the place of that stubborn $10. 3. Don't you ever remotely involve someone's girlfriend in threats to collect money. read more

This is a great small business that has been around for 20 years. Gary Thorn is an original tenant of the building and works very hard, sometimes arriving as early as 4am to get the best flowers for his customers. For those of you who have commented regarding the handicapped placard you dont know what you're talking about. He does have a medical condition that is a private matter and not to be judged by others. I have and will continue to purchase lovely flowers from this small shop. read more

Recommendation: get there early on Friday morning on your way into the office in the City. You can purchase a dozen or two-dozen roses for great prices to treat your honey super-nice. Pay for them then, she'll give you a ticket to pick them up on the way home - and then they're still fresh! Don't care who you are - you could always use the "points" and besides, she's probably worth more than a few dozen roses, so spoil her already. read more

Because the vase was so full and I couldn't see the flowers that were wrapped in plastic, so I naturally pulled out a bunch a little to see them more closely and guess what? Just like some other posts... I would like to give a negative rating. My husband purchase a mixed bouquet of flowers for me on Monday and by Tuesday they looked really sad. I stopped by on the way to the ferry on Tuesday evening to tell the guy that my flowers looked really bad. The Gerber daisies wilted, the lilly branch shriveled and even the blue status dried up. You'd think you'd get the freshest flowers on a Monday? Anyhow, I think the guy makes mixed bouquets from left-over flowers that are about to go. Anyhow, I wanted to bring the flowers back but the guy told me to have my husband come back. He told me he's "not the enemy here" and that he stands behind his product... If only his attitude would have conveyed the same message. He was rude and didn't want to take the time to even hear what I had to say about his DEAD flowers. Don't buy flowers from this stand. You will be dissapointed. They aren't as fresh as the seem. I did eventually tell my husband and he will never buy flowers from this guy again. read more
