I was wary of patronizing a kiosk florist instead of one with a true storefront, but I was in a pinch when the closest florist wasn't open that day and two others in my neighborhood have folded. Beautiful selection, and these folks provide real care and attention when preparing your bouquets. They don't merely slap paper on and hand the flowers to you. Mine were trimmed, attractively wrapped, and included plant food packets. The woman serving me gave me a few tips to make the flowers last. The attractive, professional wrapping job made the flowers ready-to-gift and I was pleased with that. Another bonus was their location near a plethora of public transit options. I was able to get to the underground MUNI in 20 seconds and travel to Ingleside to give the flowers to a friend who'd just been released from the hospital. A couple of weeks ago I made a horrible mistake. I was scammed twice the same week that I left a very bad review for Union Square flowers. I want to take all of it back. I thought they were scamming me as well. But it ended up turning out that my husband bought me flowers, because I was having the worst week I've had in many months. It was supposed to be a surprise on the flowers and I received a receipt for payment. Knowing that I did not order those flowers. My husband did to surprise me! He offered $2 for the yellow flowers (7 stems) that are a bit old but still looks fresh. Cheaper than trader joes but same quality of flowers. She wanted very fresh flowers so we bought here. Patricia at Union Square Flowers is that absolute best! I know it sounds cliche but I don't typically write reviews but I HAD to do it for them! Long story short, Patricia saved my wedding! I had given her the wrong date for my wedding flowers order (small order for a microwedding, but still), and when they didn't arrive at my scheduled time (which was only an hour before I needed them) I called to ask where they were. That's when I realized I gave her the date for the day after! She saved me by making a last minute bouquet and boutonnières with what she had on hand that worked with my "vision" that we had previously discussed and expedited this service for me! She and her delivery drivers made two separate trips to get me my bouquet in time for the ceremony and photos, and then another trip to deliver the centerpiece and cake topper for the reception later. The "rush" job turned out so nice I couldn't believe it when I got them! I'll definitely get Union Square Flowers to do my flower order when I'm ready to have my post-pandemic reception with extended family and friends, and I will not hesitate to order from them when I have other flower needs! This is right by my work. Any time I need flowers, I always stop by Union square flowers. Since it's right by my office, the owners of the company always get a bouquet delivered for my follow employees' birthdays. They typically last the whole week and their arrangements are always gorgeous! This past Thursday, I was having dinner with my parents for my mom's birthday so I decided to get her flowers for her bday. I was looking at their red roses and one of the employees asked if I needed help. I told him that my mom loves red roses, but she likes it when the buds are tighter so she can watch them bloom. The guy helping me out said he had some more roses and pulled out the perfect flowers. He made the bouquet and added baby's breath. He asked me when I was giving her the flowers and I told him later that night at dinner. (It was still the start of the work day when I came by.) He was nice enough to wrap them in a bag of water so they would look nice until I gave them to her. Another plus of this flower stand is that I also was going to grab a couple of coffees. This florist is amazing! I found them on Yelp while trying to find a florist close to my friend (who happens to be my boss as well) daughters place of employment. Turns out they were just across the street from them and knew the building. I called up and spoke to Eric and told him which sort of flowers my friend was looking for in a bouquet to send to his daughter for her birthday. After providing the info, address, credit card, etc., I asked Eric if there was any way they could deliver the next day around 11am. He said he would try but he would be the only one there. A short time later I called him back to let him know I was given the wrong floor for the flower delivery. The next day my friend got a picture text from his daughter and the bouquet was beautiful and it was delivered at the specified time! True customer service at it's finest! For all the years I've worked in Union Square and all the many flower stands in the area, this is the best one by far! I never order flowers because I dont have the time to call in and pick out flowers (which I dont know much about) and I dont want to spend hundreds on something that will die in a week. This has good prices and I'm extremely impressed with the assortment of flowers and the vibrant colors. They do amazing arrangements that you think come from a store for whatever your budget is. I never would imagine a stand could do that. They truly have the best and the freshest flowers. Aside from the pretty flowers, Patricia is super nice and accomodating! She recommended tropical flowers cuz they're beautiful right now and orchids to make the arrangement nice and big and within my budget for a grand opening party. I was excited to work with Union Square Flowers for my City Hall wedding after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp. I initially met with Patricia and she assured me that she could do whatever I wanted and she was happy to work on short notice. Unfortunately, when I emailed her my order, she didn't respond for several days. I happened to be shopping downtown, so I stopped by her shop to check in. On that visit, she was very curt and rude to me, saying that she was very busy and didn't have time to talk. Then a few days later, she emailed to confirm the options we'd discussed. When I told her which I option I had decided on, she then wrote back saying that it was too complicated and she would be unable to help me. This whole experience was extremely unsatisfying because 1) she completely reversed what she told me on my first visit!!; 2) she was unnecessarily rude to me when I visited her shop the second time; and 3) she left me scrambling to find someone else to do my flowers. I'd advise anyone to be wary of placing special orders with her, and maybe just take your business to someone who treats customers with a bit more care and respect. read more

Today I received a beautiful, probably expensive bouquet that was not intended for me. It was addressed to a name very close to (but not quite) mine, at my office. The note read "There's no reason not to enjoy flowers all week. Happy Valentine's Day. - Your Husband" which is nice... but I am not married. I gave the florist a quick call to let them know-- I wouldn't want bad juju from an angry husband or a disappointed spouse not getting any flowers. Eric called back, saying they couldn't reach the mystery husband who sent them, and he would have to pick them back up until they could find the right home. When they came to pick up the bouquet (which I admit, I was sad to part with from my desk) they left a rose as a thank-you for calling. The security guard said they told him "no woman wants to receive flowers that aren't theirs" which I thought was sweet. I don't buy flowers very often, but for that gesture they're on the top of my list when I do (but, um, for the delivery mistake that started all this... The drop off location wasn't more than 0.5 miles away, so I don't know if they'd be able to do the same thing for someone on the other side of town. The service was great and friendly. I stopped to buy a bouquet of flowers for my daughter. I made a special request, which they accommodated. The flowers were arranged "presentation" style. They had to last for hours, so the guys came up with a small plastic bag of water, which kept the flowers fresh. What was even better, these flowers made it on a flight from SFO to Newark and continued to last 5 more days. The roses opened to full bloom and looked beautiful everyday.
