We had an issue with the garage fridge and the dog's heaters not working this morning. I checked fuses and other areas, but no luck. After a new water heater was installed we still had no hot water! Our breaker blew when we tried to reset it. Riley Electric was quick to respond to our request for service. Gerry found the problem and fixed it promptly. During his inspection he also found prior wiring in the breaker box that was not up to code. I called Gerry Sunday morning after a terrible burning smell was emanating from my basement on Saturday night. It was very late on Saturday, so I shut down my furnace and the next morning I called Gerry who was at church, yet he answered my call. He came over right after church and found the mess that was my breaker panel. He couldn't believe the nest of wires everywhere with several burned out spots and the panel was out of date. He felt much of this mess was wired in a terribly dangerous way and assured me he could fix it. So he set out to find a new panel that was copper instead of aluminum. He had to make a special trip to the warehouse, but found the panel I needed and set out to repair my damage. His assistant, Brennan, was so polite and helpful, yet they had to wait for South Central Power Company to shut the power down. They finally were able to start around 10:00 Friday morning and worked straight through until around 5:30. Such a long day for tedious work. They had to wait for the power company to arrive to turn my power back on. And they did so without complaint. We checked everything out, found a glitch which Gerry immediately fixed, and my system is up and humming. Gerry and Brennan were so very kind and reassuring, especially since they knew I was anxious about what nearly could have been a disaster on Saturday night. I would give them 10 stars if possible. Gerry is very knowledgeable, honest, and does not waist time so he can charge you more. We called him with a restaurant hood problem he came and got it fixed for a very reasonable price. He checked another fridge that was not working and got it fixed within 20 minutes for $80 and its now been a month and fridge still works. Quite possibly the nicest people I have ever met. Our heat went out on Wednesday and we made the mistake of calling another repairman first. After waiting a few days for a response we finally called Riley Electrical Services. We only wish we would have called them first. They were at our house within an hour of our call and set to work fixing the mistakes that the other repairman made. We ended up needing a new furnace and they helped us make a decision that we felt comfortable with, that also didn't break our bank. While we were waiting for our replacement furnace we were called twice in the morning just so he could check up on how we were holding up with no heat. Excellent customer service. We had some major residential electrical issues from a lightening strike and Riley Electrical came over within an hour and a half to begin assessing the damage. Of course this occurred during the hottest portion of the summer and our AC was taken out by the hit. As opposed to taking the weekend off or pushing the job, Riley Electrical ordered all the required parts and had us back up and running within a couple of days (Came and fixed it on a Saturday).
