Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience with Color Rise Home Improvement…read more I hired Color Rise Home Improvement after the owner, Eber Ferreira, contacted my sister‑in‑law from a contractor list provided by Home Depot. He presented himself as both a painter and handyman, so we trusted him with painting and small repairs in our condo. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. When I returned to check the work, the condo was left in a complete mess. There was debris on the tile floors, paint spots on the floors, kitchen table, chairs, and even inside the kitchen sink. The master bathroom floor had paint spots, both bathroom mirrors had watery paint drips, and dust was left on every surface. The worst part: all of our sheer curtains had been thrown out without permission. Only one was saved after I asked about them. This level of carelessness and disregard for someone's home is unacceptable. I cannot recommend Color Rise Home Improvement or Eber Ferreira based on this experience.

The contract included "REMOVING ALL HARDWARE" and using BM paint for the flat on the walls. He did the work early June 2026 in my newly remodeled 900 sq ft apt. He failed to use the BM paint I paid extra for (he would not provide a receipt for the paint after numerous requests), failed to remove hardware, failed to paint the closets, failed to paint my kitchen in semi gloss, failed to properly prep new construction... He did do a great job of getting paint on my new appliances and freshly refinished floors. I gave him the opportunity to fix his mistakes and he did return and he made a poor attempt to clean up the mess he created.

I hired this company for popcorn ceiling removal. I understand that some level of dust is normal…read morewith this type of work, and I tried to approach the project with that understanding. I have never done popcorn ceiling removal before, and sometimes you don't know what you don't know when hiring for something like this. However, the condition my home was left in was far beyond what would reasonably be expected. Dust and debris were left throughout the house, including large amounts on the floors, along baseboards, near door tracks, and even under furniture. Cleanup was included in the contract, but the level of dust and debris left behind made it clear that the cleanup process was not adequately handled. After the job was completed, I spoke with other contractors as well as professional cleaning companies while getting quotes for cleanup. Multiple people in the industry told me that while some dust is normal, there are standard preparation and containment methods that are typically used to prevent this level of mess. Throughout the project I also had to repeatedly point out items that had been missed and ask for them to be addressed. For example, caulking and finishing work were not being completed until I specifically brought them up and followed up several times. In addition, the paint on the ceiling developed cracking the very next day, which has raised concerns for me about the long-term quality of the work. I expected that I might need some light cleaning afterward, but the amount of dust and debris left behind has required significantly more time and effort to deal with than should have been necessary. Between the additional cleanup and the time spent obtaining quotes and addressing issues after the job, the overall experience was very frustrating. My recommendation to others considering popcorn ceiling removal would be to clearly outline containment methods, cleanup expectations, and finishing details in writing before the project begins.
