I am a caregiver for Comfort Keepers in Tulsa, OK. My start date was October 1, 2015. Healthcare…read morehas always had changes but this past 6 years have been a whirlwind! But, the supervision of Comfort Keepers have calmed the storm by keeping their employees informed and educated. It helps when I know what changes to expect and receive the training to care for our clients in the proper manner. First of all, I love being a caregiver! I have 2 daily goals: 1) to ease my clients burden. Rather that be tasks related or comfort from pain. 2) to give them some joy, fun, laugh or a smile. Comfort Keepers is the best company to work for to assist caregivers to achieve these goals. We actively participate in our work schedule and the care plan of the client to assure a good "fit" of caregiver to client. Another thing I like about working for Comfort Keepers is that I can still have a home life. The scheduling staff communicate well with me and understand why I need certain times off. And they help give me the right schedule that works for me. I have often received a "pat-on-the-back" from supervisors. It's nice to be noticed for something I did well. This appreciation is not just show. It often comes with nice gifts! The last thing I want to say at this time is the wage compensation is very good with yearly evaluations and chances to improve. Thank you for your time to read my review of working for Comfort Keepers. I work for an awesome company! Anyone looking for a rewarding career should definitely consider contacting Comfort Keepers. I had a face lift and it was important to have fewer straps on my face or it would ruin my face Lucy which was both expensive and painful. The respiratory therapist would not return my call. I kept calling back. The person who answered the phone informed me I couldn't change masks for 6 months. That made me really mad. The facelift cost $14000+. I was certainly going to pay for a mask if I couldn't get coverage. I tried to explain that to her. She didn't seem to hear. She said I couldn't get a new mask for 6 months and I also couldn't get a fitting. After all the years I got supplies through Apria, they couldn't even help me figure out what size I needed on the mask my doctor recommended. I had to guess. I spent a lot of money just figuring out what size I needed. My doctor didn't like the service I got so she changed me to a different company. That company wasn't any better so she sent me to a third company. I finally ended up going back to Apria. This fiasco caused me to have to pay for my supplies for almost a year even though I have insurance coverage. The old respiratory therapist at Tulsa Apria left. I like the new one. She was very helpful, so they fixed what was wrong and I will stay with Apria as long as she's there. I would like to suggest that people working for Cpap supply companies not tell customers they can only get a new mask every 6 months. They could instead say that insurance will only pay for new head gear every 6 months and if they need to change before that, they have to pay for it. If the customer is willing to pay, they should help them figure out the right size.
