As soon as I spoke with Jessica Sinon of Care to Stay Home, I knew I needed to look no further! She & another woman came to meet with us & discussed our care needs. A c/g was quickly set up so she would be there once my husband returned home. We had 2 c/g's, Kyla & Sylvia, and we cannot speak highly enough of both of them. They became like family! When my husband became more self sufficient & we no longer had a need for c/giving, I actually cried when they left! Everyone at the agency was always caring, kind and helpful in every way. He assisted us again in June when my mother required surgery and needed some assistance when she returned home. We had people lined up a week in advance. We were able to - with notice - revise the plans as my mom didn't need the night care we anticipated. Katie was my mom's day nurse and she was terrific - as are all of the LWHC staff. Being in real estate for 48 years, I can tell you that the land is worth over $20,000,000. Yet there are only less than 200 residents. It's spacious with restaurants, working out facilities, game rooms, etc. When I first visited it, I was given a personal tour by their sales manager. What a wonderful lady. Very knowledgeable, and very easy to speak with. Whether looking for yourself, or for loved ones, it's the place you should consider before making a decision.

My father passed just a few days ago and all the out pouring of attention that Mom and the family has received from Meridian staff has been incredible. My has decided not to move out with any of us, we wanted to take her with us, we are all good children to her I promise ; but she decided that she feels so comfortable there that wants to stay. Better compliment than that of a resident having the choice to stay or leave and yet wants to stay can't be found. The entire purpose of assisted living is to provide dependable assistance and peace of mind to residents and their families, and unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Phone calls frequently go unanswered, emails are often ignored, and most concerning of all, there have been times when she has pressed her assistance button with very long response times. Today, we decided to actually test the response time ourselves. While we were there, we pressed her assistance button and waited to see how long it would take for someone to come help her. We waited 40 minutes and nobody showed up. That experience was extremely concerning. Fourty minutes without any response isn't just poor service--it raises serious questions about resident safety. What if my mother had fallen? What if she was having a medical emergency and was unable to call anyone else? An assistance button provides very little peace of mind if nobody actually responds to it. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility for a loved one to ask detailed questions about staffing levels, medication administration, actual response times to assistance buttons, and how emergencies are handled before making a decision.
