I found Hooks on the internet and contacted him to get a quote for the entire car and a set of Rallye Wheels. The price was great in my opinion, so I set up an appointment to have the care taken down to bare metal. Hooks came out to look at the car and give a quote and then we set the appointment. Hooks was on time the day of the appointment and got to work right away. The entire process took about 9 hours, which when you compare that to stripping the paint off with paint remover or 40 grit sandpaper, I think you'll agree that this is the way to go about getting your vehicle taken down to bare metal. They blast the car with a sand and glass mixture and pump it through a pressure hose with liquid to cool the steel so it doesn't warp. They also add a rust inhibitor that lasts 3 days so it doesn't flash rust. Once the surface is stripped it is ready for primer within 72 hours. I can not recommend Hooks Mobile Blasting enough, he was professional and kept me in the loop on everything he was doing and things he discovered during the blasting process. And, when it was all finished, he cleaned up the mess left behind. Pat Hooks is just starting out with this business and already he's hitting home runs. Thanks again Hooks Mobile Blasting.

This is the second time I've taken something into Fresh Start for powder coating. The first was a rusty flower pot/stand that came out excellent. These gnomes are from my grandfather when he worked at the Gary Steel mills. I'm guessing early 1920's. These may be the ugliest gnomes you've ever seen but you shoulda seen them BEFORE Mark got to them! They're so ugly they're kinda cool! They were totally rusted along with the female swashbucklers which are also from my grandfather around the same time period. They came out great also! The metal milk crates are from 1954 and 1963. Again, they came out great. What a wonderful job on everything! Whatever you might have that's rusted but you'd like to keep, give Mark a call. They have an unbelievable amount of colors too. I took the car to the tore shop where they checked the tire to find two holes and the tire filled with fix a flat. These tires are run flat tires with the foam run flat liner. These fix a flat ate the foam liner causing it to delaminate from the tire and ruin it. When I contacted Omar about this he denied it and everything short of told me to kick rocks. One of these had apparently been used outdoors years ago and had corroded beneath layers of paint. CR Welding not only removed the old paint and rust, but welded each of the dozens of wires involved and then powder coated this valuable heirloom. They even replaced the missing feet on each leg.
