We can't even begin to describe how happy we are with our cabinets! We knew we would have to wait a little before the project could start, but this was more than worth it. The cost was very reasonable and was in line with the other quotes I received. Lenny and his family were a pleasure to work with.

Kammes did a phenomenal job refinishing our kitchen cabinets. They kept the house clean and made sure their process had as minimal of an impact on our day to day as possible. I highly recommend contacting Kammes Colorworks for your kitchen makeover needs!

Freedom Finishers - After, note newly finished stair railing and spindles.

Freedom Finishers

I recently purchased an investment property and wanted to update its interior. There were walls…read morethat had been previously damaged, there were cut out holes in the kitchen ceiling from recessed lighting installation, there were settling/cracks in two separate ceiling areas, and an outdated stair railing/spindles that had 1990's glossy oak coloring, varnish. Additionally, none of the doors or baseboards were white, they had all yellowed due to age. Joe Giordano of Freedom Finishers came highly recommended and was able to come out, go over what I wanted done, and provide an estimate that same day. He and his crew started shortly thereafter. As the job progressed, he provided constant communication as to the job's status. There were things I added along the way, and Joe was extremely accommodating and able to fit them in. Joe and his crew left the house and work areas clean, and hauled away excess materials etc. In the end. Joe/Freedom Finishers completed several drywall repairs, refinished the entire stair railing and all spindles, added new brackets, painted all the doors, their trim and baseboards in the entire home. He also offered to fix a small area of shoddy work done by a previous painter, and did so flawlessly! I am more than pleased with Freedom Finishers and will recommend this company to anyone in need of painting or drywall. It is a huge plus that Freedom Finishers is owned by two US Veterans! I thank them for their service to our country and for a job well done at my investment property!

Freddy Painting - Before and after staining exterior house.

The walls were dark and we were switching to a lighter color. It was done neatly and perfectly. Another project was our finished basement which had several patching repairs they fixed (thanks to our four kids) and made the walls and ceiling look like new. The interior of my home looks completely transformed. They work very efficently, meticulously and are painting pros. This week they came to paint our exterior. About a week before painting, they power washed it all. We have cedar siding that needed lots of caulking and prep before staining, and a ton of white trim. Again, they didn't disappoint. I had Freddy get the paint, match the color and he used all Benjamin Moore products. We have a really tall roofline that had trim that they painted. No problem for these guys. It looks crisp and better than new. Freddy's pricing is extremely reasonable and if you were to get several quotes I am pretty confident that his would come in well under the others. Updating through text and phone, he either starts the project exactly as scheduled or earlier. This may sound basic, but these guys want to work and for that reason I will always call him for our painting needs.

I thought their estimate for the work at my fourplex was fair because it was a huge job. I had them paint the exterior of the building which has four townhomes and also the decks of the fourplex. Friday even moved furniture off the decks because I wasn't given prior notice that he was coming early to give my tenants the heads up to remove their items. Freddy also repaired loose boards and replaced ones that were rotting. I was very satisfied with this company and their communication. I asked Freddy for a second quote on two more properties that I needed just trimwork repainted. However, I didn't feel their pricing was fair, compared to the other quotes I was receiving. I did end up contracting with my former painter on this job because his estimate was significantly less. Freddy was paid $2700 for the decks at my fourplex, but he wanted $4000 for trimwork on the current job. That wasn't working for me. I would try Freddy Painting again in the future to see if his quote would be fair like the first job. He did good work.

Tom and his TAK crew recently completed a basement remodel for us. We moved into a 1971 ranch…read morestyle home in St. Charles and wanted to finish the basement, changing it into a fitness studio for training clients. This involved substantial demo and drywall work, putting in vinyl flooring, rewiring the lights and outlets, adding new fixtures, replacing the bathroom vanity, installing a barnyard door, adding trim, refinishing the stairs, emplacing a reeded glass door at the top of them, and numerous other supporting jobs. The basement and stairs now look beautiful and the studio is up, running, busy with new clients who all give us compliments on the work. Here's what sets TAK apart: 1. Tom is a proactive, highly involved, patient, friendly, never condescending, always-trying-to-help-and-add-more-value type of guy. Tom is neither overly acquiescent nor standoffish. Other folks we dealt with either assumed they knew everything about our design preferences or, on the other extreme, nodded without giving any worthwhile feedback. Tom's the golden mean. 2. Cost - TAK is affordable - prices not so low that you wonder about quality, but 100% fair. The price tag equals materials plus a justified price for labor. There's no markup to cover a fancy logo or sleek marketing campaign (read: Geico). 3. Discipline, hard work, and respect for his crew - Tom and the TAK crew always showed up early and got the work done ahead of schedule. Tom will come around every day of your project, sometimes twice a day, and inspect his team's work. Not a quick lookover - a full inspection with laser measurers, wall-tapping, visually scouring all the little nooks and crannies, and fixing minor mistakes on the spot. He'd make a top-notch 1st Sergeant. Dealing with you, the customer, he'll always pick up his phone or return your call, and he emails you a revised quote when he says he will, complete with line-by-line breakdown. If you're throwing around less than $100K, tough luck getting that treatment with another remodeling company. 4. Quality - You're never getting second-rate work. TAK does work on par with any of the best. We've had zero problems. In sum, TAK does solid work at a fair price with a great customer service attitude.

I could not have chosen a worse painter than Lanningham. I hired Jason and his "crew" (which turned…read moreout to be him and his wife) to paint a 40 X 80 machine shed for me. I was given a price quote which I agreed to, and I was given a time frame of 7 days depending on weather. We've had great weather and 5 weeks into the job it's still not done. Their workday consists of showing up around 9:30-10:00, taking lunch at noon, and then pulling out around 2:00-2:30. This is with several smoke breaks in between. I paid him half down over a month before the job started, but now he wants more money to continue working claiming that he's using more material than anticipated. The quote was for two topcoats, but he's only done one topcoat on the four sides of the building and has only done one topcoat on half of the roof. I refused to give him any more money until the job is complete, which was the terms in his contract. Now he's accusing me of "f***ing" him and pulled off my job. He's lied to me, made false promises, and has done mediocre work at best. I've been in the real estate business for 28 years and I've never had such an awful contractor work for me. Do yourself a favor and take the time to research this guy before hiring. I was fooled by a professional looking website and old positive reviews. This company is anything but professional.

If you are researching painters, look no further. I can't say enough good things about this…read morecompany. It was an absolute pleasure working with Mike and Esvin and I could list a dozen reasons why. The installation of our hardwood flooring was completed one day prior to the painting of the interior of our home. The company that installed our floors failed to inform us that the baseboards would need to be replaced in the areas where the carpeting was being removed. That company also informed us that it would be several weeks before they could get us on their schedule to get those installed. That same company that installed my flooring also caused damage to my kitchen ceiling. What an absolute nightmare. Until Esvin walked into my home. He saw that the baseboards would need to be replaced on the first floor before the walls could be painted. He offered to call people that he knew to see if they could work us in while the painters from ProTect started on the second floor. He then said he would call around so he could locate the exact paint color that the builder used on our ceilings five years ago so he and his men could repair the damage that was done. Esvin found a man that worked two nights straight removing the old baseboards and installing the new ones. Also, Esvin's crew patched and painted the ceiling, leaving no evidence that there was ever damage to begin with. Not only do you get the pleasure of working with these kind people, their crew of painters are amazing. They painted the interior of our 3,000sf home and the end result is beautiful, absolutely flawless. They also worked on a Sunday so they could be done prior to the delivery of seven rooms of furniture. And then they washed my floors. (Yep. They sure did.) Tomorrow they start on my 1600sf rental property and I know I will be thrilled with the end result. I can pretty much guarantee that Mike Felten, the owner, will make you and your project his top priority.
