They require a non-refundable 20% deposit of the overall estimate just to put you on their schedule. You are lucky if they are able to start your project within 4-6 weeks. Additionally, their final invoice was over the agreed upon amount in two out of three of their previous jobs. The paint on the last job (less than a year ago) is already bubbling and peeling of the wall. They also painted over painter's tape and didn't bother to take curtain rods, brackets or existing nails out of the wall prior to commencing painting. There are much better painters in the area that may take a bit longer due to not having a full crew, but the results will be much better.

The team was knowledgeable and provided valuable recommendations. The quality of the painting work was commendable. The painters exhibited skill and precision, leaving a well-finished and attractive result. The newly painted areas of my home looked refreshed and vibrant, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the final outcome. However, there were a couple of hiccups that prevent me from rating this experience as a perfect 5/5. From the time of estimate to being able to start was like 3 weeks and we had a hard deadline for family members to move in. We needed at least the inside to be painted before cleaning and move-in. Probably the biggest issue was in communication with the estimator/project manager. We were told the project would start on July 26th and the crew didn't arrive for the inside until like 3PM on the 27. We were not communicated with that they couldn't paint match the existing exterior color until after they painted the eves which limited our color selection choices. In addition, they failed to engage the kitchen cabinet painters in a timely manner to remove cabinet doors to paint them in their shop until after the move-in. Their delay in getting started caused them to miss the interior finishing deadline cause us to have to reschedule cleaning and delay move in. This communication issue caused frustration and ended up needing to speak with the owner Bart. Bart explained the estimator was new and worked with us to bring the project to a close. In conclusion, Caldwell Painting is a reputable choice for painting services in Memphis, TN. Their expertise, professionalism, and dedication to the craft are commendable. While there were some issues, the overall painting of the interior and exterior was excellent.
