The security here is a little stronger, with a full black metal gate that locks the entire compound from 10pm - 5am daily. This is separate from the keypad entry gate nested within. One note is that you'll need your own lock here (which is my preference anyway), but don't worry, you can buy one on-site. They also offer discounts to military and teachers, so make sure to inquire about that. The only downside is that my unit has some leaks and they are willing to fix them, but we have to identify where they are coming from... which is fair, but it's also going to take some time to figure out. They do offer pallets for free, so I feel like that helps with any unforeseen issues. The roads are paved to slant away from the units, so I feel like flooding shouldn't be an issue here. I've also been using more plastic bins and I've placed tarps over my cardboard boxes. I've been here for a few months now and am happy I switched to All Safe!

And my rate has only been increased once (ooops, maybe I shouldn't have said that, LOL). The gates have been replaced, they've installed a CCTV security system and replaced the staff with friendly and pleasant people. The facility is is well maintained and snow is removed promptly. My family and I recently relocated to NC, and we needed a total of 2 trucks over two separate trips, and without knowing I made my first mistake by choosing another trucking company for the first truck rental only because I didn't know about Superior Self Storage at this time. Long story short the truck I reserved from a competitor was not available at the location that was agreed upon, nor the time agreed upon. I lost 5 hours of my time that morning on calls with the vendor trying to locate another truck for me, and driving to a much further location for pickup. I then went and read reviews of this said company and it appears this happens more often than not. Do yourself a favor and go with Superior Self Storage to avoid this unpleasant surprise during very stressful time from happening to you. As mentioned above I needed a second truck to rent, and went with James at Superior Self Storage and rented a 15' truck with a car carrier. The truck was ready at the time and location agreed upon, and James helped load my car on the carrier, and made sure I was comfortable loading and unloading, and strapping down before I left. Next morning we started loading the 15' truck only to find out we needed a bigger truck. I'm sure this has happened to many others before me, and now feeling the pressure of time slipping away I made a call to James who was able quickly locate me a larger truck. All I had to do is swap out one truck for the other. After successfully loading the truck and car I was ready for the drive to NC the next morning. About 9 hours into my drive I had the right rear inside tire blow out on the truck. I pulled over and called James who at first wanted to make sure we were all ok, advised that I need not worry about any costs associated with the tire being fixed as this is a covered item, and then advised that I contact the 800 road side assistance number located on the contract, and that they would be able to help. I did and they were able to assist, and had me up and running again in little over an hour. All of this said I would be happy to use, and refer James and Superior Self Storage again should I ever need their services.

First, the older women who work behind the counter are very nice. They don't smile much and…read moretherefore may be mistaken for being grouchy, but they really are not. I like them. That having been said, however, be aware that this place DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. So while I am out traveling in my RV, I have to find a post office and mail a check. Since everything else I pay can be completed in a matter of seconds online with a credit card, not only is this inconvenient, it is absolutely 19th century. Should your check not arrive on time, you are subject to your lock being cut off your unit and your belongings seized. This is after only a few days of being late. Check the paperwork when you sign up. The dates are very important. I am not sure this is legal. The place has no public restrooms. Therefore, if you are working at your storage unit for several hours as it is common that you will while loading or unloading, you'll have to hold it or drive into town to find a restroom. Other people who have units there have told me they go find a corner in which to relieve themselves. There are no gutters on the storage buildings. When it is raining or when the snow is melting off the roofs, the water drains at the entrance of each storage unit. This soaks the person entering and exiting the storage unit. Additionally, that water seeps into the storage units. The owner of this place does not salt for ice and snowplowing seems to be infrequent, at best. I had to get into my unit after an ice storm and was very nearly unable to walk from my truck to the unit. Loading anything into or out of my truck was almost impossible. When I had a problem getting the door of my unit to close and had to leave, the owner of the storage place called me. He used his speaker phone and had another person on the line. He told me that he had managed to close the unit, but that I was having trouble closing it because "there is so much . . . stuff in there." I am sure he was struggling to use a word other than "junk" or worse. I am not sure what he expected to find in a storage unit other than one's belongings. It might be "stuff" to him, but to me, those are my precious belongings. I grapple to understand what he thinks people put in storage units. The hours during which you can access your storage unit are severely limited. The storage units do not have lights in them. Additionally, the maintenance on the outdoor lights that could possibly shine into the unit must be lax, because they shine for a minute and then go off, leaving you and whatever you are loading in pure darkness. I will remove my things from this storage place this summer, when I get back to the Midwest. The only good part of having rented a storage unit from this place was that I know what not to accept on my next place.
