In my many years as a Catholic, this is by far the most diverse religious community that I have ever worshiped with. At every service, there are people from India, Africa, Vietnam, Hispanic people and white people. There are lots of families with children of all ages. There is a Pastor with many years of experience and an associate priest as well as several deacons who assist the priests at services. If you are someone who wants to be involved in a religion, I would simply recommend that you attend a service either on Saturday at 5: pm or one of the many Sunday services

There are literally so many ministries it's hard to keep track of them all. STM would have a 5 star rating if not for all the silly 1 star reviews having nothing to do with the church and everything to do with traffic on 620. Do these same people rate UT as 1 star when I35 is backed up for football games? How about the Round Rock Express due traffic congestion before and after games? Also, let's be real, 620 is a mess regardless of mass times at STM. I've been bumper to bumper on 620 when nothing is going on at the church. Lastly, let's remember, this church is serving the needs of the community and the traffic during mass times means 100's of people are attending each mass because it is a safe, welcoming, and loving church. Why be mad? People are gathering to worship. I feel truly blessed to see the number of people at each mass. It's heartwarming to know that so many find the message of peace, love and forgiveness here. So my suggestion is if you're stuck or slowed down in traffic on 620 before a mass....come on in! You will be welcomed and you just may come to understand why it is that so many feel the wade thru the traffic is so worth it! Blessing.

I remember many dinners of beans and potato's because mother needed to pay her tithes to the church first! Her life was not easy. She Passed away 1/6/2024. It started out with the pastor Schule's wife making some very bad assumptions when my mother had Dementia and Alsheimer's. Instead of doing this in a private setting she did it at a birthday party. Mother was very ashamed of her diagnosis and begged us not to tell anyone about it. Well, my child was forced to say something when Schule's wife was so insistent that my mother was in danger. My sister and I called the church requesting a call back. This call was NEVER returned. Mrs. Schule's, If you were so concerned about my mother why did you NOT pick up the phone to check on her? Why did you not get the authorities involved if you really had concerns? My mom was very well taken care of for the past 4 years as her memory faded and didn't always remember who I was or where she was. I called several times requesting prayer. Those calls were never returned either. So, came the time of her death. Moms LAST WISH was to have her service at Promiseland. That was her home for over 50 years and she PAID her dues there. My sister and I could not take a breath trying to get mom's service scheduled. Only to be told that Promiseland had to put it on the agenda in their next meeting to decide if they were able to offer the church or services to honor our mother. 12 days after mom's death we got a call saying that Promiseland decided that we could use the church to honor mother. We respectfully declined. We never asked for anything FREE. We were very willing to pay the church for the time that we used it. But, a time limit was put to 2 minutes if anyone wanted to share a memory and we would have to turn in what was being said before the service. This is wrong in so many ways. Brother Phillips would have had NO Meeting!! The answer would have been YES right away. He would be ashamed how this family was done by the church. Karen Phillips Thank you for your calls. They meant the world to me. They helped me get through the first few days after moms death. Your parents were loved by mom! Even with her Dementia and Alsheimer's she watched the services for your parents online. Thank you for watching mom's service. That meant alot to us. But, we want to thank you for watching it online and showing up to lay her to rest at the cemetery. Mom loved the 3 of you!! Our Angels were Brother and Sister Johnson of Lighthouse UPS Church in West Columbia Texas for calling North Carolina and Praying momma's lasts prayer on this earth with her. They prayed my momma into heaven. They opened their church to us to Honor our mother and they will always be LOVED for that. They even drove to Austin to lay mom to rest in her final resting place. They accepted NO $$!!! This is what a preacher does. This is what a church does. Momma was not even a member there. Don't do this to your members and their families at the hardest time of their lives. You only made this harder on our family and we were NOT able to honor mom's last wishes. We tried hard. If you do not allow this post. I will get my message across for my momma!! I will walk back into Promiseland 1 more service and I will be heard! Other than that NONE of our family will ever step foot in that church again!! YOU DID MY MOMMA WRONG and you have alot to learn from BROTHER Kenneth Phillips!! The spirit of God is palpable in the congregation and the music is so powerful it often moves me to tears. I grew up in the Universalist-Unitarian churches and while I love their philosophy it always felt so academic and devoid of passion. If you want to experience the passionate side of God and Jesus this is a great place to go. They also do a lot of outreach which I love to see. Nothing but good things to say!

This review is not for the Church but for the Church's "Kidz 4 Christ Summer Camp."…read more I am a third year participant of this camp and by far this is the worst year and we are only 5 weeks into the camp session. The first two years, I had zero complaints and frustrations but since day one of this year's camp I've noticed things and my kiddos have voiced concerns. To start, both kids have complained that they are forced to watch too much TV during camp. I have observed that the TV is on in the mornings at drop off and they are watching TV in the afternoons, when I have come early to pick them up. Television should not be a major part of any camp. I have observed and the kids have complained of being too hot while in the sanctuary part of one of the camp buildings. I addressed this with both the Camp Director and the Minister that operates the camp and was told that they are aware of it, and working to repair the AC. There is more than one building with adequate AC, and the campers should not be subjected to uncomfortable temperatures given the weather, especially if there are other options until the issue is rectified. Something that I felt was unfair, the camp application this year, stated that field trip dues were due on June 12th in full for your kid to be able to attend filed trips. When I over heard the Camp Director speaking to another parent about paying field trip dues upon each field trip, I voiced my dislike for the unfairness and favoritism. Everyone would like to pocket their money and pay as they go for field trips and it's not fair for those that paid in advance as the application stipulated. Besides in previous years that was how it was done, pay on the day of the field trip. Lastly, things that belong to my kids have come up missing and when I addressed it with the Camp Director, no one knows of it and there isn't a lost and found for said times to be returned if someone finds it. I will say that after repeated inquiry about an item it was found, thankfully. In summation, this camp is affordable, one of the main reasons I chose and continued to support the camp; the first two years were awesome. This year so far I can not say the same, and for the frustrations endured I will not return in the future. For those that may read this and think, why don't you take your kids out of the camp. Well, because all of my $1,430 funds are nonrefundable, that is not an option; if it was there would be no need for this review.
