I've always loved the majority of the staff and have had great experiences with them. Unfortunately, my experience at the bar last night was very different. I sat at the bar, ordered a water, and was given a menu. About 15 minutes later, the bartender asked if I wanted something else to drink, but never asked if I wanted to order food. A gentleman sat down to my left after I had already been there for quite a while. I watched him order a cocktail, order his food, eat his entire meal, and still hadn't been asked if I wanted anything to eat. I'm not one to complain, but that level of inattentiveness was hard to overlook. I'll definitely continue to give Huck's a chance because I enjoy the food and most of the staff, but I hope the bar service was just an off night.

The service was top-tier from start to finish attentive, remarkably gracious, and warm. To accompany my meal, I ordered a classic, crisp Coca-Cola served ice-cold. For my course, I selected the fried catfish accompanied by fries. When the platter arrived, it was an absolute triumph! The catfish was cooked to flawless perfectio crisp, tender, extraordinarily fresh, and seasoned with real mastery. The fried okra was actually pretty well prepared, but the coleslaw tasted like something you could pick up at a regular grocery store. Overall, it was an experience, but unfortunately, it just wasn't the BBQ we were hoping for.
