Though the venue is intimate in size, the decor is delightfully charming, creating a wonderfully authentic and inviting atmosphere. I was seated in a cozy, private section that offered the perfect setting for a quiet, relaxed luncheon. The ambiance and overall vibe were simply marvelous. The service was top-tier from start to finish attentive, remarkably gracious, and warm. To accompany my meal, I ordered a classic, crisp Coca-Cola served ice-cold. For my course, I selected the fried catfish accompanied by fries. When the platter arrived, it was an absolute triumph! The catfish was cooked to flawless perfectio crisp, tender, extraordinarily fresh, and seasoned with real mastery. It made for a deeply comforting and completely satisfying meal that exceeded every expectation. Between the pristine preparation, charming atmosphere, and flawless hospitality, The Little Dooey earns absolute full marks from me. A complete success I shall most certainly be returning whenever I am in town

We stopped in for lunch while in town for MSU student orientation. This is a local well known…read moreestablishment and there were many locals inside. The parking can be interesting and the signage is very confusing because it says permit parking...we weren't sure if that was for patrons or not. When you enter the establishment, you are overwhelmed with signage asking you to make sure and close the door and various other signs. With that being said, we did not see the sign that said they were out of all drinks with the exception of tea. It would have been nice to be told that when we ordered a soft drink You order as soon as you walk in and then they bring the food to the table. This is a little overwhelming as you can not see the menu until your turn to place the order and with the line forming behind you, that can be stressful. The food is decent, but nothing spectacular. My son had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and enjoyed it. My husband had the 2 piece catfish platter and while he enjoyed it, it wasn't the best he has ever had. He said he would probably try something else if we come back. I had the pulled pork grilled cheese with onion rings and I really enjoyed my meal. There was a good amount of pulled pork with some yummy pimento cheese and it was toasted perfectly. The onion rings had a nice light batter, but were served perfectly crisp. I would definitely order my meal again if we come back and the portion was so large that my husband and I thought we could definitely split it. Overall, not the best meal we had in Starkville, but we would come back if others wanted to give it a try.
