Great place to study! The staff are really nice and the internet is reliable. The library close late most of the days.

Some events are for certain age groups/ populations, like seniors, teens, parents. Etc, while others are open to the general public. Activities range from practice career guidance to social events like movie screenings and even wine tasting. Every time I come to the library, the staff at the front desk is always very friendly and helpful. The librarian is also knowledgeable and able to point me In the right direction whenever I have a specific topic or title I'm looking for. I'm a big fan of the inter-library book exchange. You're able to place a request online for almost any book and pick it up at the Fort Lee branch when it becomes available. It's super convenient. Another great feature of this library is their partnership with museums in nyc. As a former NYC resident i was worried about missing out on some of the perks of being an NYC resident, but I found out that you actually get free access to to several museums with your Fort Lee Library card and you can request passes for a few guests as well. Overall, this library isn't the largestor necessarily the most modern, but it has mostly everything you could need or want from a local library. It's certainly nicer than my local library growing up and the service is always friendly. 4.5 stars

They always have a pretty good rotating selection of staff picks, as well. Not only that, but this library offers so many amazing programs for the community, including movie nights, legal and tax help, ESL classes, homework help, college admissions counseling, and test prep for students; fitness classes, and game nights (just from what I've seen). They're such an important pillar of the Harlem community and bring so many amazing programs to the area, despite their (I'm sure) limited resources. Will always recommend. Thank you Hamilton Grange library!

Two staff were inside, and one of them repeatedly and very rudely said only three words: "We are closed!" My daughter could clearly see other children still in the room, which confused her and made her want to join. When I asked what was happening, the staff just kept repeating the same phrase. I said we would just take a quick look around, and the staff replied, "I don't know what to look at." After my daughter finished looking, I guided her out. Before leaving, I again asked politely what they were doing, and the staff member kept saying "We are closed! Ma'am you have to leave now. I'm telling you!" She even brought me to the front desk, where I explained the situation, but the man there only asked, "What do you need? Do you need anything else?" I understand rooms may close for cleaning or other reasons, but the way this staff member handled the situation was unnecessarily rude, especially in front of a small child. A simple, kind explanation would have made a big difference. Families should feel welcome and respected here, not dismissed.

But ever since I have been introduced to this world, I can't help but feel like an outcast. In any case, this is a review about the library and not about the wonderful world of Ivy League (read: pretentious, over-priced, privileged delusions). Here are some reasons why this library totally blows: 1. Why are the bathrooms in such disrepair? For Buddha's sake, the public health school is housed here, can we at least get some decent sanitation? 2. Why are the printers, copiers, staplers always broken or jammed? 3. I def do not like this one dude that works the evening desk, he always has some sort of attitude when I ask for a reference book. Look, there are plenty of unemployed people who could gladly and willingly take your job. 4. The people working the help desk usually don't want to help you. 5. Poorly constructed building with confusing elevators and terrible signs. So, for 50K, you buy the name of this institution and you get to hang out in this crappy library for most of your days. Maybe that online degree from Phoenix wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Love the view in the Riverview Lounge - used to bring my laptop and camp out in the quiet study area. Anatomy + view of the hudson, what more can I ask for? haha. It was also where my dance team had rehearsal during my first year... and where all the fancy post seminar luncheons were held. My only complaint to this place is the spotty reception on the second floor computer lab. Maybe I should blame t-mobile but I can never receive any calls or texts whenever I'm up there. Will continue to study/work on whatever project i have here.. until i graduate. 1.5 years in counting!
