After you check in at the register, they offer a complementary glass of Rosé or Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Juice. (You also have the option the bring your own bottle of wine) Afterwards, they show you the wall of vessels you'll make your candle in and a quick backstory about them and their multi-functional purpose. Then, they show you to the fragrance wall to smell and choose your scent. Then, they bring you back to the table to guide you through making your candle step by step. Once you start it goes by very quickly and next thing you know you're done! Takes about 3hrs for the candle to set and they let us know when your candle is finished. You can come back and they'll refill it for $10 with the same scent or a different scent. The class itself is $40 per person but a detailed guided experience, multiple vessel options, multiple fragrance options, and a pretty quick turnaround is well worth it!

The Tea Room has a very wide range of loose leaf teas to sip from including herbals and rooibos to fragrant and exotic black and green teas. Their menu items were delicious finger sandwiches (I loved the smoked salmon!) warm cheese, fruit or plain scones. Their Devonshire cream was super silky-smooth and THE best I've ever tasted! Both the lemon curd and strawberry preserves were the perfect complement to their baker's flaky, yet moist scones. And the desserts!! Is there a better combination than a luscious dessert and fragrant hot tea?? The Tea Room serves Battenburg cake, airy divinity, traditional eccles cakes, mini bakewell tarts, seasonal mince meat pies, old fashioned Empire biscuits (buttery shortbread with raspberry glace') British almond macaroons, and traditional Scottish tablets. My favorite dessert was the Empire biscuit with its crumbly, rich cookie balanced with that tart taste from the raspberry. The Tea Room is truly an "experience" with an atmosphere, ambiance, menu and service that lends itself to truly enjoying a relaxing time with family and friends. Thank you to Anne who has brought such a lovely, delicious, and special "jewel" of a Tea Room to the High Country! Lenore

I would have spent WAY too much money here. The candles smell wonderful, come in a wide variety of scents, and are available in a breadth of sizes - as a matter of fact, their website states "We have 80 different wonderful fragrances we use to scent our handcrafted jar candles, pillars and votives." You can tell that the people here take pride in the craftmanship behind their candles, and they also offer various pottery selections - specifically, a wide variety of mugs, bowls, vases as well as candles trays - in the store. The staff is very welcoming as well - happy to answer any questions you have about what's available in the store. I just wish they shipped their wonderful candles!

I was overwhelmed with the options. I ended up purchasing a large jar candle which was $30 and burns for 145 hours. The size just below this one was $28 and burns for 95 hours. The scent I decided on was a mango sangria of sorts. I forgot the exact title. It's also new so it's not on their website. But the website does have a complied list of all their scents! And they offer shipping! I also bought several of their little small candles that burn for 10 hours. Because I bought 6 of them, I got a free glass container! Ive burned my mango sangria candle and LOVE it! You've really gotta keep the wick trimmed because it burns super bright and big! But it burns evenly and after a few hours it doesn't even look like it's been burned. I can already tell I'll get my monies worth.

I shop here regularly and truly enjoy the experience. The Village Store is part of our quaint Main Street area not to be overlooked. You can shop for housewares, local foods, boutique clothing and jewelry, toys, Lake Life and Lake Norman local gifty items, like tshirts, pillows, tea towels, etc. There is so much to look at here, and trust me, you will find something you love! The staff there is very friendly and the store is so well stocked. The prices are very fair compared to other boutique style stores, but I'd say the Village Store has the biggest selection of home and gift items in the Lake area. They have begun putting out their fall decor, and they really have some beautiful displays during the Christmas season. I really enjoy shopping here.

Definitely check this place out of you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else!
