This is an update to my previous review. It is now 04/04/2013 and last night I received an email…read morefrom the owner of the company. He said that he was going through open invoices and found mine and requested that I look for my records. I paid the owner cash the day of the Inspection and apparently he had no record of my payment. Luckily I kept my receipt, which he had signed and wrote "paid cash" on it. I just think it is very unprofessional to contact a customer 8 months after a service and request that they look for record of payment. If I had tossed that receipt or lost it, I'm sure he would have been knocking on the door for his payment which I had already paid. It's a shame that this happened, very unprofessional. I feel if you leave an invoice open for 8 months and don't know if the person paid you or not, you should eat it.

I can honestly say that Thompson Home Improvement isn't just another roofing company--it's run by…read moresomeone who truly cares about people, and I've had the privilege to experience that firsthand. The owner has been more than a boss or a coworker to me--he's been a mentor. He's taken the time to teach me the skills I need not only to be successful in roofing but to become independent and start building something of my own. I've worked for other roofing companies in the past, and none of them offered the opportunity for growth the way he has. Most places want you to stay in your lane and help them grow their business. But he's helped me grow mine--he's even helped get my painting business off the ground, connected me with jobs, and given me guidance when he didn't have to. That means the world to me. He let me get into sales when I had no experience at all, just to help me build confidence and learn how to connect with customers. That kind of trust is rare. He's shown me what it means to be professional, sincere, and fair in every part of the job. Every customer he works with walks away happy, and he consistently goes above and beyond--even doing free things he doesn't have to do just to make sure people are taken care of. He understands that people have bills, families, and real-life financial limits--so he offers financing, fair pricing, and flexible solutions instead of trying to drain someone's bank account. That kind of integrity is hard to find. If you're in or around Ashland County and need a roofing contractor--or just someone you can trust with your home--Thompson Home Improvement is hands down the best choice. This man genuinely cares about his customers, his crew, and his community. I'm proud to have learned from him and even prouder to recommend his business.

From the beginning to the end of the project, we experienced nothing but professionalism from Charlie and his crew. We are so very grateful for the hard work they all did and after the concrete was poured they came back many times to check to make sure everything was the way it should be. We can't recommend them enough; 5 stars and more from us. If you have them do some work for you, they love popsicles!!! :) With deep appreciation, Jack and Sherma LeVeck

I had the opportunity to watch them do the work, and they were painstaking in the preparation of the ground, the pour itself, and the finishing of the concrete. From start to finish, the communication was excellent. Kollin kept me informed throughout the entire process, the pricing was fair and reasonable, and the crew did an outstanding job. They worked hard, paid attention to the details, and left everything clean when they were finished. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations. What really stood out to me was their honesty and willingness to go above and beyond. While replacing my roof, Kollin noticed that the top of my chimney was deteriorating and made sure to point it out before it became a bigger problem. He even gave me the contact information for a family friend, Jim, who specializes in masonry. Jim and his crew were just as impressive. They repaired my chimney beautifully, and the craftsmanship speaks for itself. I really appreciated being connected with someone they trusted instead of being left to figure it out on my own. It's refreshing to work with people who take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. I highly recommend Kollin and his team for roofing, and Jim for any masonry work. You won't be disappointed.
