The previous owners had dogs, which naturally means scratches and gouges. We thought it would be a great idea to get them sanded and refinished before moving in furniture. I tried calling 6 companies in the Mansfield, Mt. Vernon, Columbus area. None of them would answer the phone or return the call. Through a family friend, we obtained the name and number for JC's Floor Sanding and Refinishing. We gave them a call, on a weekend, and Jack answered the phone. He suggested we go look at the project, which we did the same day! Jack provided a price that we thought was extremely competitive (comparing it to other sanding/refinishing plus repair projects in our past). A week later, JC's began the project. Here is the really cool part. Daily, we received updates from Jack and the crew. We didn't ask for them, they just provided them. So far, we're experiencing customer service at it's best! When is the last time your contractor updated you daily without you asking or demanding it? Now you see my point!! About a week and a half after the project started, they were finished. This encompassed the entire top floor of the house, which is probably close to 1,500 sq. feet. The finished project looks great and we're extremely pleased with the craftsmanship, the price, and the customer service. To top all of this off, Jack had completed the sanding and coating of the floors on the original installation 15 years prior! Who would ever think that?!?! When he finished, the floors as wonderful as his completed project pictures from 15 years earlier. Now the big question - Would we hire them again or recommend? ABSOLUTELY!! JC's is a contracting company that understands how to do their work (I know that sounds weird...but...), understands customer service, and actually will answer the phone when you call. How can you go wrong?

However, they gave us a couple quotes in person that needed revised and said they would send the updated quotes via email. We never got them so we stopped by and realized they had the wrong email. We corrected that on the spot and they said they would re-send the updated quotes via email. They re-sent the same old quotes but not the new updated quotes. I called and told them they sent the wrong quotes and asked for the updated; however, they never came. I verified with them on the phone that they did have the correct email so that was not the issue. I was getting tired of the fact that I had to continually follow up and pursue them to try and work with them. I am the customer, if they are not willing to follow up concerning prospective work then I question their commitment to the customer and the product they sell. I do not think it is too much to desire good customer service. So we reached out to Cutting Edge Countertops in Delaware, Ohio and was blown away by their professionalism and customer service. We are moving forward with Cutting Edge, it is so sad because we wanted to work with Monarch but I guess they didn't want to work with us.

The team at K&S is wonderful! They built out an amazing deck onto the house. The deck included two…read moredifferent staircases. They took the time to sand down all the railings and areas that would be frequently touched or rubbed against. They also pressure washed the entire deck when they finished!! Not only did they build the amazing deck but they also had it finished within a week! We also had ordered a new back door through them and wanted a doggie door added to it which they handled. The installation was quick and precise. Overall, I am extremely happy with the work the team at K&S has done for me and my family. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs work done. You can see in the photos how much our dog loves the deck as well! We also have them scheduled to install new baseboards in our house since they did amazing with all the other work!
