Quality/Quantity - Our friends are members here. So the first 4 tasting were complimentary. Had such a good time catching up with our friends, I forgot to take more pictures, sorry. Anyway, we ordered the following - Cheese, crackers, pate, sparkling water (that never came), etc. All prepackaged snacks. Here for the company, not the food. Ambiance - Enjoyed the outdoor space and views. Too bad all the outdoor furniture was put away due to the winter season. Got the best table in the winery, next to the outdoor patio, thank you. A view and fresh air! Plenty of parking. Two restrooms in the parking lot, cool. More unisex restrooms inside. Service - Surprising below average, especially since our friend is a member?!?! Made a comment about our Dubai chocolate that we brought for our friends. Made sure our friends did NOT open and eat it. She could have said it much better. Rushed us to leave even before our 1.5 hours was up! Cut our tasting 15 minutes short. So we went to Vidovich Vineyards next (see 5 star review). So much more welcoming, I might even become a member there. The door greeter was friendly and welcoming. Price - As a group, we bought 3 bottles of wine to-go and a bunch of snacks to eat during our wine tasting. We spent a few hundred $$$$. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1962 with your history going back to 1885. We plan on visiting your other wineries since our friend has access, and hope for a better experience.

Reservations are easily made and prepaid online! Love everything about this vineyard except for the drive up. It's not a scary drive but can make people car sick. The views are beautiful once you are up there. It's so lovely up there, we seen a couple of hummingbirds while doing our tasting. The wine itself is amazing! Always been a fan of ridge wine and every wine that we tried was great! I was a club member at a couple of vineyards in Napa and usually love Napa cabs, but the Zinfandel here were good! The cab here was also one of our favorites. The staff here were kind and explained the wine and history in great detail. Will definitely revisit!

We actually discovered Ridge while in Oslo, Norway - we had a glass of Pinot Noir at a wine bar there and it was phenomenal. Come to learn that the vineyard is an easy 35min drive from our home! So we booked a tasting (tastings are by reservation only) to *hopefully* also buy a bottle of this pinot noir that we fell in love with! We learned that their pinot noir is made in very small batches, and not a single one on the menu this time of year - sure, I'm disappointed, but we're also here to try their other wines. Our tasting menu included a chardonnay, a 100% zinfandel, their geyserville (~70% zin), and their estate cab. every single wine was fantastic! I would have purchased one of each if they weren't so expensive. Ridge Vineyards has fantastic wines and I highly recommend them. I took off 1 star because they seem to be all about exclusivity, in that they really push memberships. at every opportunity, they are mentioning all the things their members get that non-members don't get - from wine lists (an entire front and back menu of wines), to free tastings and exclusive events. Perhaps because of this, the vibe (from patrons and employees alike) feels... a bit uppity. I don't think you can purchase by the glass (although, to be fair, I did not ask - but there are no by-the-glass prices listed anywhere), which is part of the winery experience that I enjoy - have a tasting, then sit back with a glass and enjoy some more time. Overall, we did enjoy our time at Ridge. The employees are very knowledgeable and informative, and very attentive. And *most importantly* the wine is fantastic!

Super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Generous pours. Large selection. By appointment only tastings. Many different areas to lounge. The views were amazing! Windy road to get there.

You must come here for Nick's Picks. Best bartender around with all amazing wines!!!

The narrow winding road up to this winery is not for the faint of heart. We luckily ordered an Uber driver who also stayed and waited 2.5 hrs while we did our wine tasting. According to the host, other Uber/Lyft drivers only do drop off and didn't want to come back for pickup and patrons had to order taxis down. So plan your rides accordingly or have a designated driver in your party. The view was absolutely gorgeous and the private tasting room was very spacious. Our tasting room attendant was very knowledgeable and easy going. The lady in training also was very friendly and helpful as well. Our experience was enjoyable and not rushed at all. The charcuterie went well with all the wine we tasted. We bought 4 bottles of the Monte Bello and a few other ones. My mom bought a case of their Grenache Blanc. We had a lovely time celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday here.

Drove up Montebello Road to visit Ridge Vineyards on a beautiful sunny Saturday day. Gorgeous wines, spectacular views, and great service. Carolyn greeted us as we walked into the tasting room. We had a table in the VIP room and she gave us a history of Ridge wines, their vineyards, their partners and explained the different varietals. It was an excellent experience. Although the steep drive may be a challenge, there is plenty of parking in the their lot and the wines are worth the experience. There are also tables and chairs for you to enjoy the panoramic views. Thank you Carolyn!

Ridge is so beautiful and I would come back again and again. Perfect place for a date or to bring family or a quiet group of friends. Very beautiful vineyard which was explained to us while waiting for our table/section, and once seated, our wine expert Adele was amazing and knowledgeable. The wines you try with the $75 tasting are mostly Zins, all wonderful and you can do horizontal/vertical tastings as well. You can try their Montebello for an extra $40. It is a private vineyard with organic grapes and you really feel special at Ridge! Highly recommend over the other winery's I have tried in the area. Do be mindful there is no service in the area but there is WiFi at the winery itself.

You don't see this every day.

Lucky Me! Not only do I adore Ridge Vineyards wine, but a friend who is a member invited me to a wonderful food/wine pairing event where the food was creative vegetarian and the wines yummy. Please see my photos. Situated in the Cupertino hills, the winery offers beautiful views, plenty of shade, seating/tables, and the pourers are friendly. Parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged, but there was parking staff on hand to maximize the available space. Because we brought food to snack on, the assistant manager kindly explained that no picnicing will be allowed after today as many people do not clean up after themselves causing the staff to do extra clean-up. Too bad. With the heat abating in its intensity, the event was a comfortable time with friends.

Come to listen to the staff telling the story of the Judgement of Paris and enjoy the amazing view of the valley. For $30, taste the famous 2012 Monte Bello. I personally find it very smooth but am a bit disappointed at the light aftertaste. Our host Nick was funny and attentive in managing our tasting experience. All tasting requires appointments and are indoor seating. Lots of blooming flowers around the estate including roses and California poppy.

We liked the 3rd cab on the list. The syrah tasted lighter than other syrahs I've tasted. I'm guessing there can only be at most 2 appointments at once. We were there at 1pm and another group came at 1:30pm. We all got to go on a short tour to the vineyard and the wine cellar basement. One bathroom in the house for guests to use. Driving up to the vineyard was very narrow and scary. There's 4-5 parking spaces. Very intimate and quiet tasting experience. Noelle and Bill were very friendly and welcoming. They only make about 300 wines. About 75 for each wine. Prices of the wines vary from $25-40. Their dog is very friendly. My husband got a nice extra splash for drinking his wine fast haha. Bill didn't want him to have an empty glass during the tour. Thoughtful of him! Definitely check out this vineyard if you like red wines and more intimate setting.

We ended up walking in without a reservation, and they accommodated us right away. The setting is gorgeous, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking stunning views. It was such a relaxing, effortless afternoon. We'll definitely be back!

Since this was our second vineyard today, we decided to only share a bottle; it was only bottle service. But then the team member started giving us a few tastings?!?! Not sure if it was due to closing time and they just wanted to finish the bottles...? Either way, GREAT service! Our friends let me select the wine and vintage. After trying a few cabs, I decided on the 2011 cab which I felt was the smoothest of the 3 splashes. If you were not so far away, I might consider becoming a member. Well, I am still considering it... Ambiance - Beautiful winery. And we were able to catch the early sunset during the winter hours. Huge indoor and outdoor space, my pictures do not do it justice. Two unisex restrooms on either side of the estate. Plenty of parking, well we did get here an hour before closing. Service - 5 stars, from the greeter to the person serving us at our tables. Price - $55 a bottle + generous tip. And of course we bought a few bottles to go. After fighting to try to pay, our friend won and would NOT let us pay/treat. So nice to have good friends! Owner Comment - Congrats on your winery success since 1996. And to your family's previous history that dates back 4 generations.

Stunning views of the bay, rolling mountainside with grape vines, and then the lush green of the redwood forest carved out this magical micro climate in the Saratoga Hills. But there wasn't one wine that I was upset about drinking, and I sipped each new sample with delight. I can't tell you what I loved more: the wines, or the lovely and attentive customer service of Lisa. Thank you for making me feel instantly at home in a new space. Besides the absurdity (you could take one or more of their plastic water glasses and refill them as many times as you want), I wonder why someone who has chosen to be in the hospitality business also chose to display such an inhospitable (rude, even) message. Perhaps their intention was something like "If you refill your own water bottle (thanks for bringing it!), please ensure that the bottle does not touch the spigot." Or perhaps "Please help conserve water." Instead, it basically said "If you absolutely must have some water, we begrudgingly allow you to have a little bit of ours." Come on.

We only tried the reds, FYI, but they had a nice selection of whites too. 2. If you buy 2 bottles you get 1 free tasting, 3 bottles, they comp two tastings. 3. Be sure to visit the little house with a bunch of memorabilia. The history of the farm is super cool. They have free recipe cards too! 4. Horses! They currently board a LOT of horses, and have clear signage posted to keep your distance as to not spook them. 5. Bring walking shoes! Also the drive and location is beautiful scenery. However after Covid, things have changed a lot. In the past you would find an available table, bring your picnic lunch (in the patio area with the shaded overhang), go inside the tasting room, sample some wines and buy a bottle. Great experience then. Also well versed in wine employees helping you. This is not the case at all now! Since Covid, you can no longer bring in your own food and they would not let us even go into the tasting room! You are forced to sit at a table and have "table service." I can't even think of it as table service because over this past weekend we had horrible service both days we went. We like to see our favorite local bands play at this beautiful winery. On Saturday when we went, we were immediately hounded by our server about what we wanted to order. We hadn't even had time to look at the menu. They bring only one printed menu and tell us to scan their QR code. That's fine, but some of the people in our group are old school and prefer a printed menu. I am shocked how much $$ the wine is here. It used to be reasonable but it is not anymore. The cheapest bottle is a bottle of Rose for $40. It was just meh. All the other wine choices are $46+ per bottle. And if I'm going to be buying some wine and enjoying drinking it with friends and enjoy live music it would be nice if I could bring in my own snacks/picnic so that I don't have to spend more. Our table of 5 spent well over $300 during the 3 hours we were there. On Sunday, we had even worse service. As soon as we walked in and sat down they saw I had a soft ice cooler. I was immediately told that we can't bring in our own food. I explained to the server and said I brought in a cooler because you do not have ice here, and the leftover food I purchased the day before (cheese, salami) was getting very hot during that service while enjoying music. So I wanted to be more prepared to put the food in a cooler as needed. Also, some of us like "ice" water and on a hot day, the water they bring out is not cool. The way I was first approached was very rude. Our main server that helped our group was not very nice at all and rude. She kept coming over to us when we first got there to see if we were ready to order. None of us had time to even look at the menu. She also did not know anything about wine. That was obvious. When one of us in the party asked about the different chardonnay choices which one is more oaky or buttery, she did not know and she did not even try and get more information for us. Also it was a very hot day in the high 90's and most of us wanted lighter white wines rather than red. The winery needs to get rid of their "table service", the servers are inexperienced with wines, rude, pushy to put in an order and impatient. They need to bring back how they used to have a nice experience here before Covid. When I told my rude server I wanted to get my bill and check out, she said "we have bad wifi over here at this table so you need to come up to our monitors for that..." then she walked away. Well that was BS cuz prior to that we were ordering our options from their QR code and they had good wifi for that. I guess she didn't like that I never came to their monitors where you "check in" and she came back to me and suddenly she was able to help me at my table to check out. So sad how downhill this place has gone. I hope the owner will think about how the after Covid changes are and that the staff is rude and not experienced with wine.
