I started shopping here about two months ago in an effort to see if we could cut back on our…read moregrocery bill. Wow! I wish we had made the switch a long time ago. We were spending about $120 or more a week grocery shopping at Martin's. Now we never spend more than $60 a week; usually less. Thats a huge saving over the course of the year (about $3,000).
The selection here is much more limited of course, but that makes shopping a lot faster and easier really. Now we just go to a "normal" grocery store if we are after a particular ingredient that Aldi doesn't carry.
Some things here I don't care for, like their frozen seafood. The things that they do very well (that we've been using regularly) are: eggs, milk, yogurt, lettuce, avocados, cherry tomatoes, onions, apples, carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, tortillas, clementines, hummus, cheese, nuts, salsa, broth, bread, chicken breasts, frozen veggies and fruit, crackers, and chips.
