I am done with Johnson Bus. First, we are told the wrong bus for my 12 year old 7th grader at…read moreNorth Middle School on the 1st day of school which resulted her on the wrong bus, me frantically calling the school and the bus company to find out where she is, we were told bus 7, she was supposed to be bus 6, she got home 50 min late. Today she was on the correct bus. Today, my 6 year old 1st grader from Shady Lane Elementary is NOT ON HER BUS when I'm at her drop off corner. The bus driver says "she said she wanted to get off a few corners back, and that she walks home." So the driver let her off BY HERSELF, a 6 year old, without any adult to receive her. WHO DOES THIS?!? The bus driver said "we don't need a parent to receive the kids either." I respond, "she's 6!!!, someone that young should never be let off, or even be alone on the road, by themselves at 6 years old!! Why did u let her off at the wrong drop off spot, by herself?!?" Her response: "because she said she wanted to." I respond, "What about your job as the driver, the adult, to know where she is supposed to be left off?!?!" She just drove off. Without my daughter anywhere to be seen. I freaked out. I ran home, jumped in the car, called Johnson Bus, drove around the neighborhood screaming her name out the window, each block, each turn, not finding her. I start to become hysterical, crying, screaming her name. I eventually find her walking along the corner of Destiny and Le Mons, with a mom who had stopped and stayed with her till she was found as the mom said she saw her walking by herself, all the way down Destiny. She must have been left off about 4 blocks from her intended drop off spot. I have never felt such relief when I saw her. I was sad, angry, thankful, relieved all at the same time, tears streaming down my face. The bus company said they would investigate why the driver left her off there, I said "I NEVER want to see that driver again driving my daughter's bus, or even any other bus for that matter for these kids safety as she doesn't seem to follow safety procedures." They said they would take care of it. I also left a vm at the district office explaing this and how this can NEVER happen again to anyone. I really question if my daughter should continue with the bus, and I'd just pick her up, seems alot safer to me. My trust in the bus company is at an all time low given yesterday and now today!! My daughter and I also had a long talk about where she is to get off, the only 1 spot u get off, and that u need to have me, your older sister, or dad there to meet u. I thought she knew, but all kids need this talk. I about had a heart attack, I thought I lost her. :( I would never wish that feeling upon anyone. It's absolutely horrible. Thankfully she's home safe. Be cautious with those bus drivers. Praying nothing like this happens again to anyone!
