I have used Ride On Time three times and will be using them a fourth this coming weekend. They are amazing. Last trip I took in October 2014 we had to change the amount of people coming on the ride and they were seamless with the change of plans. Mind you they had to do a 4:30am pick-up and were here at 3:45am, in the parking lot waiting. One time it was raining so Frantz had the umbrella waiting for us and took the bags from the lobby to the car so I didn't have to get wet. The only glitch was the time we were picked up at the airport in a very small BMW that had such a small trunk that we had to have the luggage on our laps, but you know what - we didn't have to stand in the cab line and we didn't have to worry about money for our ride home. My Fiancee bought a Groupon for me since he couldn't drop me off at the airport ahead of an International flight. They didn't have great availability for a Monday night - and forced him to take an earlier time than needed. Which is annoying... When I called to change the time of the pick-up b/c my plane was delayed I was told I'd be charged $30 to change the time. If I canceled they'd be marking my Groupon as used. WHAT THE EFF. Getting double charged and not getting a single service from them. Groupon will be hearing from me. You can get a refund within 7 business days. I ask you this - why if you can't change your time, reservation, etc. do they list that as an option in every confirmation email. And WHY is it not clearly noted in the email that there are fees/charges to change. AND finally- get A functioning website - try looking Professional if you're not going to act it. UGH. read more

Reply to Franz: Actually, I had made the incorrect assumption that a "one way ride to Logan" meant I was paying for a one way ride to Logan and the invoice ($20) you sent me was for the ride. I expected that the remaining balance from my voucher (value $31) would be used for any additional cost (and I would add tip)... to advertise $29 ride to airport but to then collect $49 (from back bay) is not what I call a "deal". I purchased an Amazon Local Deal for this company to get an early ride to the airport from Jamaica Plain. I followed the instructions online to book and when I received an email confirmation, there was no address posted to ensure they were going to pick me up at my home address. When I called to confirm my address information, the man who answered the phone told me that he has my address, but couldn't tell me what my address is. When I asked him to tell me what address he has on file, he asked if he could text it to me in half an hour. I told him I wanted a physical phone call and he was very short with me. Also the voucher cost $25, and then the day before they send you a bill for an additional $20...the cost of a cab is about the same, not sure about how good of a deal this is. **Now having been picked up by one of the drivers, I can say that my driver was early and had great personality. I purchased a $25 deal on Amazon Local for a ride to Logan airport, but was then contacted by the business that I owed an additional $30. I see that this has happened to a number of other people on Groupon, Living Social, etc, etc, etc... This is clearly a dishonest business, and I have submitted a complaint with the Boston Police Hackney Carraige unit http://www.cityofboston.gov/contact/?id=189. I urge everyone else that feels cheated by this dishonest business do the same. I purchased a Amazon Local voucher for transportation to Logan airport, for a reasonable fee of $25.00. I live in Brighton received an email confirmation, and to my surprise a "bill" for an additional $20.00, tolls of $5.25 and taxes. I understood that the taxes and tolls were not included per the fine print, however I object to being charged a "gratuity", when services have yet to be provided, or deserved. Perhaps the merchant does not understand the definition.Full Definition of GRATUITY: something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service; I chose not to use the service, and get a cab or Uber instead. Amazon Local was great and provided a prompt and full refund, and will review the merchant due to the number of complaints and refunds. As one can see, the manager takes nothing away from the fact that there is a theme that is repeated in all of these reviews. His answer is to try and insult and belittle his customers, or potential customers. I expect I would get a deal to try a new service(that's what these voucher programs are for), since I use a car service about once a month to Logan, I will make sure to let my friends and peers know not to use this service. I would recommend the manager make the actual total charges available in the fine print of these voucher programs and address the repeated complaints, instead of being rude and insulting. read more

So Ride on Time Transportation, has a Groupon for transportation to Logan Airport for $29 if you are within 10 miles of 02126 area code (Mattapan). I have a Christmas Party in Norwood which is 9 miles from Mattapan. Sweet! I do not have to worry about driving home. So I call the company to confirm and ask the company what it would cost to go from Norwood to East Boston (I live in Eastie). They respond $80. I say ok what if I buy the groupon. They respond "to the airport it would be $29 with the groupon". Ok I say while the airport is in East Boston. They respond East Boston is $80. Avoid if possible: misleading business practices, incompetent drivers, and no customer service! I had a very poor experience with Ride on Time for the following reasons: 1) I was invoiced an additional $20 on top of a purchase Amazon Local voucher. I was sent a non-itemized invoice for "tolls, tax, and gratuity," which seems arbitrarily set as the amount is not clearly stated anywhere on their website (contrary to Frantz's response to another yelp review: "Every policy is fully disclosed on our website..."). The forced gratuity comes out to 20.5% of $60 service, assuming a standard $3.50 toll and 7% tax. 2) A gratuity is a little extra money the customer offers for services rendered or anticipated. I anticipated a 15 minute ride to the airport from Cambridge/Central Square. Instead, I received a 55-minute drive through downtown Boston, west on the Pike PAST Cambridge, and into NEWTON before heading back to Logan. I missed my flight. I had confirmed with the driver my destination to "Logan Airport, Terminal A" upon entering the car. He drove me aimlessly through Back Bay before turning west by the time I realized he had no idea where he was going. I re-confirmed my destination and he thought I had said something else earlier... but couldn't tell me what he thought he had heard. He then turned onto I-90 WEST. I repeated to my driver to go EAST and to take the U-turn at the Cambridge exit. I told him three times where to take the u-turn and he still missed it. We ended up in Newton where he almost ignored my instructions to u-turn again. At that point, I literally began to think I was being kidnapped or driven somewhere to be robbed. 3) The account manager, Frantz P, sent a customary email request for feedback. By cc'ing my email, he released my personal email address - and all of his other client's emails for that day - without my consent, violating my reasonable expectation to privacy. 4) I had responded to said account manager with the aforementioned reasons asking for a response and a refund, and he has been silent. You can have no expectation of customer service with Ride on Time. In fact, by reviewing Frantz P's responses to complaints on Yelp and BBB, you can be expected to be insulted and perhaps have your privacy violated again with a release of your full name (see response to mark s's review). Edit 1: As an addendum to this review, and as a response to what Frantz posted to my BBB review, let me be clear that I DID buy the voucher knowing that in the fine print, there would be "tolls and taxes" on top. I am fine paying that, and I assumed it to be $3.50 + $4.20, respectively. My issue was with the arbitrary nature of the charge and with the fact that gratuity was mandatory. This issue does not change the fact that my ride still took me to the wrong CITY, and does not change the fact that there is ZERO customer service - in fact, he mentioned I was "desperate," "crying [my] eyes out [about paying]," and "very low." I've never been insulted by the manager of a business before - this is literally the worst business exchange in my life. Edit 2: Frantz just sent me this email: "You are a low life. What a shame. You are officially banned from ever use our service again. In short... DO NOT USE!! I purchased a living social voucher with them. I called before purchasing to make sure the pickup location was within the 20 mile radius (Salem, MA), they assured me it was. I bought & booked. A week prior to the pickup I called and confirmed. The DAY before (which happened to be the day after my wedding)- they called to inform me that Salem was out of the 20 mile radius so they would be charging an extra fee, as well as an extra fee for the early pickup time. i explained that I already spoke to 2 different people and that this was never mentioned... he stated "well I'm calling now to tell you"- I put him on hold and google maped the pickup location to the airport and it was 14miles... I could understand if it was 18 or 19 miles but 14miles gives them 6 extra miles.... I informed him of this and he decided to talk over me and then cancel my pickup. I told him to also cancel the return pickup as well... Thankfully living social gave me a credit for this purchase... We ended up cabbing it which only cost $45 each way. After a discussion on the phone with someone who was very rude about two months ago, we cancelled a booking made with a voucher. (I had not told ROT that I was using a voucher. The rate quoted me for the trip from Logan to our home, was more than double the price of the two limo services we normally use. The voucher was good for one trip to Logan airport - Our distance was 4 miles within the radius limit according to google maps. When we did make a reservation more recently, we were told belligerently we would have to pay an additional fee of because we were outside the mileage limit. We insisted they check google maps. The final result was a car that you could hardly call a limo - an old, barely working car, and their insistence upon arrival at Logan that we pay an additional $50. Thankfully, Living Social was able to give us a credit. read more

We purchased a Groupon for a $29 one-way to Logan from Malden. The driver was lovely, we received a confirmation email and call right before our pickup. All good until we got in the car and upon presenting the Groupon were hit with a $20 "additional fee" which was not mentioned anywhere in the ad. It would normally cost under $30 to have called a cab from our house, the bridge to Logan is closed, and we took a road with no tolls. Other than a tip, which I would have happily paid for the excellent driver..., TWENTY DOLLARS is outrageous for an additional fee. Super annoyed and disappointed in this complete ripoff. read more

Absolutely the worst!!!! I do not recommend anyone use this transportation company. I had the unfortunate pleasure of having bought a Groupon for their services (I paid $144 for a round-trip ride to Logan - supposedly a $720 value according to Ride on Times "retail value"). When in the limo and on the way to the airport, I was informed that I owed $60 additional for" taxes, tolls & other fees" They also charged me this $60 on the way back - $120 in "extra fees" on top of the $144 Groupon cost. NONE of this was mentioned in ANY of the fine print on the Groupon listing or the voucher other than a $10 fee per extra person if you had more than 2 passengers (which we did not). The Groupon was supposed to be $72 each way for a ride to Logan from between 30-60 miles from Boston - thats' it. I expected to pay the driver a gratuity, but that was it. All of the other limo companies I have ever bought services from have listed if there are going to be ANY extra fees above and beyond what they are advertising (mostly late pick-up, extra mileage and gratuity). When I called while in the limo on the way to the airport to verify that there was indeed $60 owed, the rude person on the other end basically informed me that the driver could bring me back to my house if I didn't want to pay the extra $60. When I questioned why I had not received notification of these extra charges (they had sent me 2 confirmations - neither of which mentioned the extra charges) they said I must have given them the wrong e-mail (then explain how I got the confirmations no problem). I will be notifying the state attorney general's office about this businesses shady practices and recommend that if you are looking for a limo ride to the airport, select ANY OTHER company. read more

Was told by the rep that there would be an additional $40 charge due to my location (which is 33 miles outside of Boston). When I asked why this wasn't indicated on the Groupon, he told me it was company policy. When I told him I read the fine print and there was nothing anywhere about additional charges, he told me if I don't pay the $40, I don't get the ride - said it was up to me. I discovered Ride on Time by purchasing a groupon for transportation from our home in Newton to Logan. Since then, we have continued to use Ride on Time to take us to and from the airport. The limo is much more spacious, comfortable and clean than the Taxi Service. The driver always arrives early and is polite and very helpful with our luggage. It is a luxury to have a car waiting for us when we return from our trip rather than stand in a taxi line. The small extra cost provides great overall value. read more

Bought a $29 Voucher on LivingSocial. - Not the man in the suit pictured on Ride On Time's site helping the little old lady out of the car. The driver was terribly dressed. He blared music all the way to airport. At the airport, I asked him if he had change for a $10 bill so I could tip him. He said no. I said, "Can I put it on the credit card I used for the voucher. He said, "No, since your credit card was already charged." I went and got change for the ten, returned, and tipped him. He said, "No it's $15 for tolls and tip. The tip is included." (Toll to the airport was $1.25. A $13.75 tip for poor service on a $29 trip charge is ridiculous!) Why didn't he tell me this when I asked if he had change for a ten so I could tip him!? He made me pay him cash. I asked if he could write me a receipt. He said, "Sure." He got back in the car, then returned and told me that he couldn't provide a receipt because he didn't have a pencil!!! (A receipt should always be in ink, but this driver had nothing.) I called Ride on Time. They asked if I got a confirmation call informing me of the additional $15 charge. I told them that I got a call confirming a 6 am pick-up, but that no fee was ever mentioned. They claim the call was recorded (which is illegal in MA without all parties permission), but could not produce the recording when asked. The guy Frantz (who claims to be the manager) says he remembers calling every single person that day and telling them of the $15 charge. Said he'd send a receipt but never did. LivingSocial refunded the "tip" (less tolls) and a second unused voucher I had purchased. They are looking into this company due to all the bad reviews on yelp. Frantz is UN controlable, After getting more business the guy thinks being confrontational and hostile is the way to go. He is very eager for you to buy the voucher then ready to email and impose extra fess which includes calculating a 20% gratuity fee on the assumed regular price of the voucher and taxes on what a regular voucher would cost (in this case a 45 voucher would cost 240...apparently). It could wind up costing you double for a ride that may or may not be up to par. (Some of the car owners have clean well kept cars others don't). I would generally tip someone but it is not up to you to decide before hand what my tips will be.....tolls I will pay after all I am in the car however, five dollar toll and a tip do not amount to 40.00 for a 45.00 voucher, plus a nasty attitude!!!!!!!! BEWARE a taxi ride may be well worth it. I am all for supporting small business owners but then some get overwhelmed like Frantz and forget that great customer service goes so far....I will not miss a much more expensive trip for a little money , I will pay more and make sure I get what someone advertises read more

At the time we had scheduled the pickup and no one was there we called to inquire. They were an hour away. We would have missed the flight if we waited. I have used them about 10 times, and they have always been early for pick up at our house. Until the last two times they have been at the airport upon our arrival or soon after. However the past two times we have had to wait 30 minutes for the driver. Each time when we called the company inquiring as to whereabouts of the driver, we were immediately called back, and told "I am a couple of minutes away", when in fact they did not arrive for 30 minutes. They are always on time, keep in closer communication, and have very competitive pricing. I also used them for multiple guest pickup and returns from a large party we had. My experience with Ride on Time was similar to other reviewers who used vouchers. I scheduled my round trip well ahead of time, and the driver arrived on time to pick me up. When I got to the airport, I was charged a substantial extra fee. (I don't remember the exact amount, but it was surprising to me.) My return flight was delayed by a few hours, so I called Ride on Time to arrange to be picked up later. I was told it would cost and additional $25. Not knowing what other fees might be tacked on for the ride home, I demurred, asking if they would honor the voucher for a one-way trip at a later time. The Ride on Time representative responded that the remainder of the voucher would be honored. I only needed to mention it at the time of scheduling. My experience so far doesn't give me confidence that this will be the case, but I'm about to schedule another airport trip. I will adjust my review if all goes well. Wow, just read the e-mail from Ride on Time responding to my review, urging me to "take responsibility" for my negative experience with Ride on Time.
