It's definitely for the more experienced lifter or for someone coming to work with a trainer... you won't get in trouble for lifting heavy or being creative here. It's not a bunch of machines with "how to" labels on them... it's free weights, squat racks, some benches, some machines upstairs... it definitely has a grit vibe... so if that's what you're looking for it may be a great fit for you! I just got an email today that Zach (who was working regularly when I was there) is the new owner and I really liked him... I think he'll do some good things for the place! After relocating to Johns Island, I needed a new place to work out. This was the first, and last gym that I toured. It's immediately apparent after walking in that cleanliness and friendliness are two of the top priorities of this facility. The equipment is incredibly varied and you should be able to find everything you need for a good workout. When you enter there is a small table and sitting area to the left where you can sign up for a membership or chill out. The gym offers a wide open space with really good distancing in between machines so it never feels too crowded. The back of the gym has a small area with cubbies where you can leave your bags, personal items, and anything you don't want to carry around with you. The entire facility is accessed through a key fob and their are security cameras scattered throughout the building. You really don't get the feeling that anyone is going to steal anything because of the community vibe of the gym. There are bathrooms and showers on site for gym members, and a small refrigerator with drinks that uses the honor system for payment. WIFI is available and the connection has been great from all corners of the gym. Most notably, the staff and trainers always have positive attitudes and say hello when you walk in. A special shout out to Mackenzie for always helping out members when it's needed and for always having an infectious smile that makes you feel welcome. The restrooms and showers and extremely spacious and include things like hard dryers and basics needed to get ready to go out or to work after a workout. The instructors are all amazing and friendly. They are encouraging and push you through the works outs. I attend the hot yoga classes such as burn and pulse. Sometimes, they will offer special, longer classes like stretching which I appreciate and try to attend. The yoga classes (LO classes) are all heated. They last 45 minutes and have classes throughout the week in the mornings and evenings. They provide props, sanitizer wipes and spray, and lavender towels after workouts for use.

You wear a bracelet that tracks your heartbeat. It is supposed to motivate you to try harder to catch up with other people at the gym. It also made me feel out of shape compared to other people here. I rotated between a row machine, floor movements, use of small weights, and then the treadmill. The 50 minutes seemed to go by quickly, and I definitely felt it in my whole body the next day!

First time here after the north chs location closed for renovations. Can't say it's terrible, oh…read morewait yeah I can. I dropped the kids off and neither worker acknowledged me nor my kids. Neither were even dealing with or playing with the other kids. TV wasn't working. Outside of childcare, the internet was out. So I couldn't purchase a drink or snack, some of the equipment didn't work, and there was no music in the gym. I gave the gym a redeeming star though for having a relatively clean atmosphere with the cardio and lifting area separated by a wall. This stuff I expect at the North Chs gym. Not a "Select" crunch location.
