Besides having excellent martial skills, he is a superb teacher--whether for 5-year-olds or seventy-year-olds. He is compassionate and has an uncanny ability to recognize the capabilities of his students. No one is ever pushed beyond their tolerance. His ability to relate to children is unequaled. He teaches, however, more than punching and kicking. His emphasis on respect, character, focus, and diligence is especially beneficial to young students. The school atmosphere is always warm and friendly. Regardless of age, this is the best place for martial arts training that emphasizes physical and emotional growth. Very highly recommended!!!

Krav Maga is a skill set that is very useful for self defense. They have 2 main rooms to teach where they can separate between advance and beginner students. We did their level one and they were so accommodating and considerate that I had a hand injury. They visually showed us techniques and had us partner up and practice ourselves, always correcting and encouraging along the way. We practiced pretend real world scenarios of attackers attempting to choke and grab and how we can overpower them to escape. They provide kicking and punching pads during the practice. The whole experience was enjoyable and fun. I would love to bring my dad here. We had the pleasure to meet the owner Randall who showed us around the studio, that is also super clean and maintained, and Kim our level one instructor. They were both such cool genuine people. I definitely recommend the studio for their quality in teaching, supplies and personalities!

After three years at another BJJ studio that was not the right fit, we knew it was time to find a…read moreschool that would truly elevate our son's skills and confidence. We were looking for strong competition training, real structure, solid belt progression, and a culture that would help him grow both on and off the mat. From the moment we walked into Gracie Barra Boca, we felt the difference. The environment was organized, professional, focused, and positive. We were warmly welcomed, introduced to Enzo & the coaches, and my son immediately felt comfortable and at home. I love that they had my son sign his own contract. That is super empowering & teaches accountability. What has stood out most is how knowledgeable the coaches are and how clearly they teach technique. They break down skills in a way that makes sense, correct mistakes quickly, and truly pay attention to detail. You can tell they know what they are doing and care about developing strong athletes. My son had a tough first competition experience at his previous school that shook his confidence. The move he lost on stuck with him. By day three at Gracie Barra Boca, that exact move had already been corrected and sharpened. Three days. The level of instruction and focus is impressive. In just a few days, his confidence has already shifted. He walks in proud & excited. He feels capable. He loves being there. I've noticed his confidence spread out into other things in his life from being here. If you are looking for a BJJ school that builds confident competitors, teaches discipline, and provides structured, high level training, Gracie Barra Boca is it. We are so grateful we made the switch!
