Terrible service! We arrived 10 min before closing and the cashier nearly refused to serve us and was unreasonably rude. She refused to give my 10 yr old nephew a taste of a flavor stating "cause we close soon". We all understand that employees want to go home, but customer service should be a priority during business hours. Having a cashier with an attitude like that is what makes business lose customers. Super yum! I'm an Oceanside native and I've never really been compelled to try these types of places. But we drove by and my son saw they had concha con nieve and that piqued his interest. I was also interested in the cheesecake con nieve but I ended up getting the waffle. The waffle takes 15-20 mins. It was worth it though. It comes with any scoop of ice cream and plenty of toppings including strawberries, bananas, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, granola and a cherry. I got the burnt milk ice cream. Definitely tasted burnt but any milky flavored ice cream usually catches my eye. Wish I would have gone with cookies and cream. It is big enough to share for sure. We shouldn't have gotten a treat each. The concha was kinda dry but he got arroz con leche ice cream for the 2 scoops it comes with. The ice cream was really good but the flavor was light. I've past this place a lot. Just never tried it. I've always been iffy about it. I checked the reviews and decided to give it a chance. I think I just should've went to Disfruta or Rainbow. I'm super picky about how people handle food. (I work in a kitchen and have a foods handler card.) Now the reason I'm giving this place a 2 star and not a 1 Star is because my kids got the ice cream and loved it. They both got 1 scoop in a cup. The 2 fruit drinks were good.And I got a shrimp cocktail. And an ice cream. The reason for the 2 stars is the no gloves while preparing the shrimp cocktail. I saw her handle shrimp and wipe her hands on her apron then grab the next item to make the cocktail. I was talking to my daughter telling her that the women is not wearing gloves and she should be. I know the guy behind the desk heard me. Because he looked at me. I said it twice. That right there grossed me out. This place looks clean and seems nice. But unfortunately I probably won't be back. I can't believe a place that handles seafood and fruit that the person preparing your food would not be wearing gloves. Sorry...I just think that's a must!!! I see the owner or employee likes to comment on the bad reviews. Hopefully he sees my review as not a bad review but more as a constructive criticism and hopefully fixing the problem for the future. Found this place on Yelp. To my surprise its been here for 3yrs! Had no clue and I drive by it daily. The fruit was fresh and the ice cream was good. The staff was great about answering all the questions I had about the menu, as they have SO much stuff to choose from. They even have elote which I will becoming back to try another time. Ricos Antojitos is a new juice bar, smoothie, ice cream, and frozen yogurt place in Oceanside (North County San Diego area). I made it here after a Zumba class across the street in Club Jennifit dance studio. Their menu has a lot of different items (see attached pictures). I opted for the Horchata (Rice Cinnamon Drink).
