Angela did an excellent job serving us, and Candy makes the "perfect" martini!! Thanks great staff at the Lounge for a wonderful experience! Now to the owners....sad you find the need to charge for a little loaf of bread, small bowl of beets and cole slaw. You are taking away the charm of this once Great Comfy place to dine.

I hadn't been to SL for many years, and we took my parents there for dinner. My husband looked…read moreSchererville Lounge up & the menu was really impressive. He read that they had remodeled too - I thought, good, maybe it's better than years ago. It got great ratings for the food & my parents had heard the same thing, so we went. When we got there @ 5:30, the place was empty. Never a good sign. I walked in the bar area & thought - definitely no remodel here! But the dining room was apparently redone. It was very clean. The paint job was just awful. Dark, drab colors & no decoration whatsoever. Kinda off-putting, but at least clean. Our server was very nice, no problem there. But the food - ugh! There were 4 of us & none of us were enjoying our food. The soup was probably the best thing. My steak was ok but absolutely no flavor. My mom's baked potato looked old & yellowish but mine seemed ok. Dad asked for blue cheese crumbles for his salad. He got a to-go cup of what looked like gray cauliflower pieces. She said it was gorgonzola, but it HAD to be old. They took $5 off the bill without my asking, which was nice. My mom got the fisherman's platter. It was a joke! It was like bad bar food! You couldn't make out what was what - everything looked the same. She said nothing had any flavor. My husband will ear damn near anything & even he wasn't happy. He ate the pork chops, but said they tasted like nothing. He smelled like garlic for 3 days, so they definitely had that! My dad ordered frog legs - again, no flavor. He was anxious to leave after dinner so he could swing by Portillos & get a beef sandwich. Their website lets you make a reservation. But when I called to confirm, they said they don't get those reservations. The guy said he didn't know why they even had that on the website because they don't ever get them. What?! Don't even think about eating here.

We had the yummy table bread which was so soft, definitely fresh baked. We had lemon soup and French onion soup. We also had Caesar salad. Great starters. I had the special, stuffed chicken breast with spinach and feta. Yummy! My mother in law had blackened shrimp and broccoli I got to sample and it was yummy! Theo's is a top notch, local steak house and I really enjoyed it! Beautiful holiday decor too! Loved it! Looking forward to returning soon!

This was my second visit to the restaurant, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing…read more The first time, I ordered an old-fashioned that fell flat and lacked any real depth of flavor. On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.
