Extremely slow to receive our order, although service was reasonably quick considering only 2 servers,very polite and doing their best. Food was so so today and it was pricey for our breakfast choices(over 45)for 2 people. The same breakfasts were slightly larger and included a fruit garnish over the past couple years and was 34$,so ,there has been quite an increase in cost and reduction in quality. Think this will be the last time we go here. Many other places in town that serve up a good breakfast for a more reasonable price. read more

I'm not entirely a huge fan of the Ricky's chain, but I do love this location. Went in for Breakfast yesterday as a table of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) and we were promptly greeted & seated. Food came out in a very timely manner and it wasn't a greasy breakfast at all (which is my experience at other Ricky's locations.) I had the chicken and waffles and it was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of it lol. The chicken so juicy with such a flaky and crisp exterior to it. The waffles were very yummy too, and it came with bacon. Was so perfect. Everyone else finished their entire meals and loved it. The bill was under 60$ for all 5 of us and we left pleasantly full and happy. Our waitress was wonderful, she memorized our entire order and it came out with zero errors! Very impressive! She was such a wonderful lady, really great to the kids too and just a genuinely amazing soul. I cannot believe I don't remember her name, I always ask and usually write it down. I had a Philly cheesesteak that was super salty. I had to just eat the filling as it was the bun and sauce that inedible. The fries were burned and crunchy. When I told the waitress I was told the oil hadn't been changed yet that day that's why they tasted like that. I tried to explain my fries were burned but she just apologized and didn't offer any fresh fries or a different side. I couldn't eat even half of my dinner and no discount or alternative was offered. I give this Campbell River Ricky's Restaurant one star because we had to "ask" the waitress if we could please have our drinks after she had already taken our drink order some time ago. Our waitress was extremely busy and the only waitress I saw except for the owner who was also waiting on tables, looking after the cashier and seating people. This was a busy Sunday afternoon after church. After waiting over an hour for our meal, it finally appeared. This Ricky's restaurant is always extremely slow with the delivery of the meals, you have to "ask" for coffee refills, as they are almost non extant. I had the Club House sandwich with the Tumbleweed fries. I could not eat the fries because they were extremely salty. I like salty food so for me to not be able to eat the fries one could only imagine how salty they really were! I asked to have them replaced with a simple garden salad. After approximately 15 minutes we had to track down the waitress and ask her about my salad. She promptly brought it out to me. Nobody had told her that the salad was ready and waiting for her to deliver. Ricky's now has frequent eatery cards which they stamp each time you go to eat a meal. The one the owner gave me was dated two years ago (2016). I had to have 10 stamps before I could receive a free meal. My girlfriend had a card also but it was different, she only had to have 7 stamps before she would get a free meal. I asked the owner if I could please have a card the same as my girlfriend's and she told me hers was an old card and she did not have any more of them. Needless to say she found a card in her assemble of cards. My girlfriend had received her card in early April about 3 weeks ago. I also asked if I could please have a card for my husband and she told me no, that there was only one card per family. She would not give my girlfriend one for her husband either. I was told that it was Ricky's policy to only give one card per household. Needless to say, we will not be rushing back to this Campbell River Rick's restaurant any time soon. There are many other restaurants in Campbell River who would love to have our patronage. My husband and I were at this same restaurant a couple of weeks ago and the service was pretty much the same. The owner waits on tables as well as one or two waitress's, so we usually have quite a wait for service. If the owner, a very polite and people friendly person would hire and use more waitress's there would be better service for the customer's and much happier ones.....maybe even some repeats. Came in tonight (April2nd 2017) and ordered 2 Greek wraps with Caesar salad and garlic toast for TO GO. Got home our salad was lettuce and croutons. Absolutely no dressing, parmesan cheese or bacon bits. The Warp was nothing like we expected. This was not the fault of the girls up front. This was the "COOKS" Fault. I cannot fathom how it's possible to ruin a simple breakfast but these people managed it. They were slow to seat us, slow to take our order, and forgot to bring our coffee. When the food finally arrived it was awful. The shrimps in my omelet were obviously freezer burned and had the taste and texture of cardboard. The eggs were tough and cold. I know Ricky's isn't meant to be fine dining, but this place is aiming awfully low. read more

We got there after what looked to be a busy morning. We were greeted and seated quickly with the hostess bringing us waters and menus. She was very friendly and smiley. Over 20 minutes later our server walked by our table and took a tables order (they arrived after us) then came to us. She took our order, knew the menu, and left. Another girl brought the soda that was ordered and we didn't see our server again until she brought the other tables food out. She stopped by and asked if I would like more water (glass had been empty for 15 minutes or so). Our food came out about a half hour after ordering without any explaination. She filled our waters at that point. The food was excellent although not totally hot. We didn't see our server again and were never checked on after our food arrived. Went in today after not being in for some time. Rememberd why after todays experience. We were seated fairly quickly but this was the only thing that was quick. The place was not very busy and there was only one server working there were numerous young girls wandering around filling cream bowls sugars etc. Only gave us the breakfast menu even tho it was nearly twelve. Finally brought coffee and water after we asked a second time. FInally got to put in our order and then the second wait began. After about 20 minutes our order arrived. My husbands waffle was so cold that the butter didn't even melt on it. My single clubhouse was filled with some kind of shaved turkey??that tasted like the refrigerator and was not edible---I took it all out of the sandwich. We did complain but did not get any satisfaction from our server who is also one of the managers. We will not be going back. The best part of this dining experience was the WATER. read more
