Ricky Fishman, DC - Pre treatment workout ‍ - Chiropractors Near Me - San Francisco, California

I had chronic back and neck pain for years. I would wake up in pain almost every morning and had problems sleeping because my back and neck was so stiff. The chiropractors that I saw in the past would spend about 10-15 mins with me and send me on my way. I was very appreciative of all of them; however, I just wanted to know what being totally pain free felt like. saw a few new chiropractors in SF and ultimately decided that Dr. Ricky Fishman is the one! Dr. Fishman has decades of knowledge/practice and his small intimate office is exactly what I needed. I wanted someone with his expertise to spend as much time as needed to help me (as opposed to only being allotted 15 mins). I love going into his office and seeing him because I feel a little better every time. My journey with Dr. Fishman started 6 months ago and I now wake up with no pain in my neck and back. I still get stiff extremely quickly, but luckily Dr. Fishman is there for me as soon as I need his help. I will continue to see Dr. Ricky Fishman often and I have no intentions of stopping. Don't hesitate to book an appointment with him. read more

Ricky has been my chiropractor when needed for several decades. Recently he treated me for a neck injury that had resulted in month long headaches. At first I went to medical doctors who did MRIs,Cat Scans etc and they could not solve the pain. Finally I went to Ricky and in one session my months long headache was gone. Only wish I had gone sooner! Ricky is a great healer and lifelong student, always finetuning his abilities. read more

About 15 years ago when my back went out, I went to Dr. Fishman, and after working with him for a few weeks, my back pain disappeared. Thankfully he is still in practice, and when my lower back went out recently, I was able to find him. His office was incredibly accommodating (I was flat on my back, unable to stand up hardly) and they got me an appointment almost immediately. Within moments of being manipulated and gently massaged and adjusted, I was feeling so much better and able to get on with my day. He gave me specific exercises (very much like a physical therapist might do) and they too have made a difference. Ricky Fishman is focused and thorough. I trust his intuitions as he studies your posture and walk and then translates that into his subsequent manipulations. He is definitely my go to guy when back and shoulder issues occur! For East Bay folks, he has a home office where you can also meet, instead of having to make the trek to San Francisco! Dr Ricky Fishman has a gentle manner and clearly has been doing this a long time, bringing much wisdom and understanding to his craft. I highly recommend him. PS his exercises along with his adjustments are magic. Get his book for your own back tune-ups! read more

I had heard great things about Ricky Fishman's Chiropractic expertise from many performers. A few weeks ago I found myself needing help. During a particularly intense pickleball game I felt something happen in my lower back that led to intense pain and sciatica down through my leg. I went to Ricky pretty much in tears and he was both compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. He examined me, did a couple of adjustments and gave me recommendations for exercises and ergonomics. Today is Friday, I saw him for the 2nd time on Tues. this week. I feel significantly better and the sciatica is gone. Dr. Fishman's book "Back Pain Relief Plan" is terrific and I plan to refer to it ongoingly to hopefully avoid another episode. I'm so grateful to Ricky! read more

This is long overdue but Ricky has been a God send! He is so good at what he does and provides you the relief you deserve! He also makes sure that you don't just have that relief temporarily as he talks and walks you through your day and set up to figure how you can best take care of your body and posture! Ricky is an outstanding chiropractor--knowledgeable and just downright a good person. I highly recommend having him do your adjustments and give you a deep tissue massage! read more

Wanted to update my review to cover the body work sessions Dr.Fishman provides as well. If you're active and need extra work from an expert anatomist, Dr.Fishman is the guy for you. During the body work sessions, he also incorporates some wonderful massage techniques as well. The body work sessions make for some of the best chiropractic adjustments afterwards. I can't recommend this service enough. In fact, I kinda didn't want to share this tid bit because his schedule will get packed with y'all wanting to try this service, and then packed some more after you get hooked :p Enjoy, and... you're welcome lol read more

I've been to a few chiropractors, but none of them close to the care and relief I've gotten from Dr. Fishman. Some chiropractors seem to focus on upselling multiple visits, but Dr. Fishman's focus is relieving pain, returning you to your daily life. In my line of work that is essential, and Dr. Ricky gets me up and about quickly and for a reasonable price! read more

Most providers don't necessarily arm you with what you need so that you don't have to return for more care, but that's exactly what Ricky Fishman did for me and my hubby. His selfless concern for his patients shines through as he not only takes great care of you, but then he instructs you on the right movements and exercises so that you can continue the healing process without returning to his office. Amazing. And he's the author of a best-selling back pain relief book - love that! read more

Ricky is the only medical provider that's made a difference in my back pain! Wow, he's great! I've done years of physical therapy, acupuncture, and seen other chiropractors, but no one has made a lasting impact before. I have slight retrolisthesis of L5 on S1in my lumbar spine and tightness and pain in my thoracic spine. After some intense flare ups I decided to find a new practitioner and got Ricky's info from a friend, who also had a great experience with him. Within a few visits, I noticed improvement in my back pain and now I have very little pain or flare ups at all. He tailors his sessions to meet the needs of his patients. When I'm there, I don't feel like a number or that I'm receiving a one-size-fits-all treatment. He thrives on making sure his patients really improve, compared to other chiropractors who insist that patients return frequently and over a long period of time. He offers a sliding scale to accommodate various income levels. Ricky is friendly, warm, generous with his time, and a true expert in his field. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Ricky Fishman for 3 years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his practice. My journey with him began when I threw out my back at the ripe old age of 27 - not only did he help alleviate the severe pain but he also educated me on how my poor posture at work had led to my back issues in the first place. I now see him every few months and if I ever have an area that is particularly bothering me he is able to drastically reduce the discomfort. His years of experience and competency in the field are evident and I am always very comfortable before, during, and after his treatments. Overall, Dr. Fishman is a gem and I cannot recommend him enough for your chiropractic needs! Unlike other chiropractors I have never felt pressured into buying any packages or coming in more frequently for appointments. He is an honest and extremely skilled practitioner. read more

I started seeing Dr. Ricky Fishman when I was 30 weeks pregnant and looking for a good prenatal chiropractor. At the time, I was experiencing pelvic girdle pain and couldn't walk very far. Within a few weeks, he got me back to walking with no pain. Now that I'm postpartum, I've been seeing him for tailbone pain and general kinks after giving birth. Within 2 sessions, my tailbone and back are feeling better much better. Dr. Fishman is kind, knowledgable, and skilled. Scheduling is easy, and it's a pleasure to chat with him. I highly recommend him, especially for treatment related to pregnancy. read more

I had severe sharp pain in my mid upper back to the point where I wasn't able to move or even take deep breaths. I went to see Ricky as a last resort as I had never been to a chiropractor before. Ricky helped relieve the pain almost instantly after the first session. I started to feel better and was able to move and breath better that day. He also taught me preventive techniques which have since been extremely helpful and I haven't had another debilitating episode since employing his stretching and posture techniques in my day to day life. I've been back to see him several times since, each time I feel better, my back is in less pain and muscles are more relaxed. I've been able to pick up my regular physical activities as well such as running, HIIT, and golf. He's also a really great guy, genuinely nice and wants to help his patients lead a better, pain free life. read more

I have some chronic neck, shoulder and rib alignment challenges and Ricky has been a lifeline in keeping me at 100%. He is very responsive in cases of urgent needs, and genuinely cares about his patients. I couldn't recommend him more! read more

After a few days of experiencing debilitating low back pain, I decided I needed an emergency chiropractic appointment. I must have called around to 10-15 places before I reached Dr. Fishman, who happily agreed to squeeze in a new patient. It wasn't conveniently in my neighborhood, but I was glad to make the trek for an opportunity at relief. My experience was much more than I could have anticipated. I went for the emergency session, but I continue to make the trek for the value of service. Not only did I receive service in a cool room with good vibes, Dr. Fishman made me feel very welcome. He attentively listened to my concerns, evaluated the evidence, and strategically made a relief plan with me. I felt heard and cared for. He doesn't want to temporarily patch you up until the next session, his goal was to get me to not return. Yet, I continue to do so lol. I'm so glad and grateful to say that I am now walking and moving so much better! Thank you Dr. Fishman! P.S. Be sure to get a copy of his book! It's filled with a bunch of helpful tips, knowledge, and exercises to aid in spinal health. read more

After doing extensive research, I decided to try out Ricky for my back pain due to a recent car accident. It turned out to be a fantastic decision! Ricky and I worked together over a few months and 10+ sessions, I've never felt better. I highly recommend seeing Ricky for an adjustment, for sports pain, or for the very reason I went, to get back to 100% after an accident. read more

Amazing experience for my first visit with Ricky! I have had lower back problems for over 10 years, so have had a lot of exposure to different chiropractors throughout my life, and I can say that this was one of the best experiences I had with a chiro. I am a medical provider and work very long hours, most of the time standing or doing physician activity, so when my sciatica returned I wanted to find someone who would see me holistically. Ricky was just that. His initial assessment and treatment were comprehensive, he did standard manipulation that alleviated my pain, and also gave me other recommendations on how to strengthen and do stretching to prevent future issues. I would give him 10 stars if I could- highly recommend!!! read more

I was referred to see Dr Fishman by a neighbor -- thrilled I found him! I had lower back pain that bothered me throughout the day, while working out, while sleeping, etc. He provided immediate pain relief, gave me exercises to work on in between visits and I've continued to see progress over the last 5 months with him. For about 3 months I had shooting pain down my right leg - I brought this to his attention during a visit. He made a few adjustments and I've been pain free for 6 weeks. Dr Fishman is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to educate you throughout every appointment. I cannot recommend Dr Fishman enough! read more

I used Dr Fishman for chiropractic and for an ergonomic consult. I had very positive experiences with both. I got new ideas on my ergo consult - it was fast, not aggressively expensive and I got new ideas I had not tried before. My chiro visit was also very effective and not overly time consuming. It's a nice office with easy in and out. I have regular migraines so it's nice to be able to pop in somewhere abs get a treatment when you don't feel great. read more

Dr. Fishman should be on your team if you have been having pain without success in getting it resolved. I went to him with trepidations about working with chiropractics but he made me a believer. He works in a very holistic way and educates you along the way so you become the partner in your care. Can't recommend Dr. Fishman enough for his care and kindness. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Fishman for five years. The first time I saw him was because of my lower back injury. He fixed my injury after several weeks of intense therapy and also helped to develop an exercise routine for me to prevent similar injuries from happening. I visit him periodically since then, about once per two or three months, for maintenance adjustments, as spending countless hours sitting in the front of a computer takes its toll. I like his holistic approach and positive attitude in helping his patients to feel better and be healthier. He is very client-centric and accommodating to their needs. I strongly recommend Dr. Fishman to anyone suffering from back or spine issues. read more

Due to a long commute and the stress of the pandemic, I've been experiencing major back pain since August 2020, it got to a point where it was unbearable. I work closely to Ricky's office, and was referred to him. Through his treatment, and within a few weeks, my back pain has already began to subside. The pain was nearly getting to the point where it was difficult to focus on my work and stand up without pain. I can't say thank YOU enough to Ricky. He is trustworthy and really listens to your needs. If you're looking for a Chiropractor that is helpful, attentive, relatable, friendly, and understanding... I highly recommend Ricky! read more

My neck was pinched and I was in so much pain for couple of days. I had never seen a chiropractor before so I was nervous. Ricky put me at ease rightaway. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Ricky is a healer. He really is one of the most gifted chiropractors in town and has helped so many of my friends, as well as my family members, move out of pain. I have been seeing him for almost 20 years! He has helped me through the trauma of falling in a moshpit (it was the 90s and I was 16, don't judge) through several bad ergonomic situations at my desk job, and most recently I really messed up my neck moving and it was NOT healing. His holistic approach made such a difference. He helped with adjustments and exercises but also moral support and listening and not giving up on me. 100% a lifesaver. If you are looking for someone to help you with pain, he is your guy. read more

I injured nyself and was unable to work, sleep, or do even the simplest of tasks/activities. I was constantly uncomfortable until I was recommended to go see Dr. Fishman. I highly recommend. Thanks Doc! read more

As an Acupuncturist, I never had much reason to venture into the territory of Chiropractics. That is, until the right side of my face grew incredibly painful and was disturbing my sleep! A trusted friend recommended Ricky - after a series of treatments (6?) the pain is totally gone. With each visit, I experienced significant relief. I have to say, I was nervous about the adjustments, but I could tell that Ricky has a trained, expert touch. I was able to relax into the adjustments, especially once I realized how much relief they would bring! Thank you, Ricky! read more

I have suffered severe widespread nerve pain more than half of my life due to spine and neck injuries. The most I ever expect from any type of treatment is to get mild, temporary relief. I'm talking maybe an hour or so. This last year I haven t been able to hold my body up for more than a couple of minutes before I have to grab something to hold me up. I was feeling pretty hopeless when I met Dr. Ricki. I was in total shock when my pain levels went down and I could hold up my body and have more movement in just three visits!!! I wish I met him thirty years ago! I really appreciate that he treats me based on my needs and it's really helping me. I highly recommend Dr. Ricki!!! read more

Thanks to Dr. Fishman, I am feeling 100x better. Before I started the sessions I was in horrible pain from my neck to my lower. After three sessions, that pain has gone away. I first visited Dr Fishman when I was several months pregnant and beginning to experience some back discomfort. As I entered his office, I noticed Dr Fishman was looking intently at my face, and he explained afterwards that he can usually get an initial sense of a patient's well-being by looking at their face and how they are moving. Needless to say, he very quickly understood how I was suffering! Dr Fishman is kind, empathetic, skilled and incredibly professional. Scheduling with him was effortless and I felt miles better after each visit. read more

Dr Fishman's approach in not just healing what's wrong right now, but emphasis on preventative regiment that is most helpful to me. As a dancer and structural engineer, I most appreciate his holistic approach to the mechanics of how a body works, which is often a fluid thing. I most recommend seeing Dr Fishman to recalibrate your body if you work at a desk a lot. I've sent him a photo of my work station and he corrected my set up that I no longer experience lower back pain for those long deadline. read more

I visited Dr. Fishman after my neck was in extreme pain with limited movement after flying back from Morocco. He advised me over the phone on his day off (it was Labor Day) and scheduled me for an appointment as soon as he was back after the holiday. After just one visit, my neck began improving exponentially. Dr. Fishman never pushed for any additional appointments and left that completely up to my discretion. I ended up seeing him 3 times on my own accord and can say that my neck is 100% back to normal. He even took the time to help with a few other areas of concern, such as wrist pain from working on the computer at my job. Dr. Fishman is amazing and tells his patients that he hopes he doesn't have to see them again soon because that means he's done his job right. It's refreshing to be seen by a doctor who truly wants to fix/heal/solve your issues and looks at the holistic picture to also help you find ways to avoid future issues! read more

Ricky is amazing. I was in terrible lower back pain when I first went to see him, and he fixed it in just a few weeks. He has even written a book just about healing back issues which I used. He is also an amazing person, very positive and kind and knowledgeable when it comes to healing the body. He is more holistic which is also something that I appreciate. He also helped with my neck injury when it happened. I highly recommend Ricky. read more

I am a health care practitioner who has worked with many chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists over the years. Dr Fishman is hands down my top choice for chiropractic care in San Francisco. Ricky prioritizes patient healing and independence, and his treatment plans are effective and efficient. You will not spend years going to his office three times per week, because he truly wants to see his patients get better and go on to do all the things they love to do. To this end, Ricky offers exercises, stretches and other lifestyle modifications to his patients so they can continue their healing outside of his office. I have dozens of patients who have experienced great results under Ricky's care, and he has treated them with incredible skill, professionalism, respect and kindness. I cannot recommend Ricky more highly and will continue to refer patients, friends and family in need to him. read more

I have an anxious personality when it comes to hospitals and healthcare practitioners. Never in my life, did I think I'd allow a chiropractor to adjust me-- Cracking, popping, resetting-- Eeek! It wasn't for me. That all changed after my low back went out a few years ago. I was limping around in excruciating pain and knew I'd have to set that fear aside and seek expert help. Enter Ricky Fishman. He is kind, funny, has a great bedside manner, and best of all knows exactly what's he's doing (20 plus years experience helps, I'm sure). My adjustments are performed quickly, with absolute care and precision. I stand up afterwards feeling a sense of release and calm. Ricky is also a musician (as am I). This is a major added benefit! He gives me exercises to do regularly (stays on my case to actually do them) and has even come to my vocal studio for an ergonomic consultation of my set-up. My low back kept getting "stuck" and he solved the problem in thirty seconds. Get a high, stool-style chair for my keyboard so that I can switch from sitting to standing when I work with my clients throughout the day. The key is to keep moving so my body won't be in one position too long. He also suggested that I add a lumbar support pillow to my "stylish office chair that matches my decor perfectly". I obliged. My back is thanking Ricky and so is my heart. read more

I was referred to Dr. Fishman several years ago by a friend after I slept on my neck wrong. I couldn't turn my neck, it was an emergency and he was able to see me the same day. I've been a loyal patient ever since and continue to go back because Ricky is a great Chiropractor. He asks and actively listens to what I tell him about my body aches and pains and he adjusts his treatments accordingly. Ricky is an interesting person who cares about his patients and I've had a great time getting to know him during my fast and efficient appointments. He always asks about my life and knows more about me than any of my other physician's. As you can tell from my stats, I'm not an active yelp review writer, I have to feel strongly about someone/something before I'm willing to spend the time and write a review. Ricky Fishman warrants a positive review and a visit from someone looking for a new Chiropractor. read more

Dr. Ricky Fishman is THE BEST chiropractor I've experienced! He genuinely listens to my concerns, remembers everything we talked about in our previous session (sometimes with months in between!), and has a very gentle yet greatly intuitive and successful touch. He is able to adjust areas of my back where other chiropractors had failed. I never feel rushed with him, because he genuinely wants to find the root of the problem and fix it. Thanks to Dr. Ricky I'm in all the right places...especially when I'm at his office at ChiroMedica! read more

When I become pregnant, I knew that chiropractic care was going to be very important. I've always had back issues, and I did not want them getting in the way of a healthy pregnancy! I am so thankful that Dr. Fishman has been able to provide me with such effective care. I have been going to Dr. Fishman for a years - on and off whenever I needed an adjustment. He's great - caring, very in-tune to his patients' needs. Now that I am in my third trimester, I am even more diligent about going (being pro-active about adjustments rather than waiting for something to go out). To be honest, the thought of getting an adjustment when you're just feeling big and not yourself because you're pregnant can be a little intimidating, but I really do think it's helped me. I feel like the pregnant chiropractic care Dr. Fishman has provided along with my pregnant yoga have been the perfect pair. That's another big plus about working with Dr. Fishman, he's very supportive of alternative medicine, complementary care, and always has great ideas and recommendations (but never in a pushy way). Holistic health is important to me, so I really appreciate that about him. He has an office in the city and in East Bay - which is great! Plus, he's open to taking clients on occasion on the weekends, which has come in handy for me when I've thrown my back out previously! (Thank goodness I haven't in the last six months;) read more
