I had locked my keys in my car at the car wash... with my phone inside... and everything else (I know, I know). After borrowing the phone of the car wash employee, I was informed it would take 30 minutes for someone to arrive. It didn't. It took 15 minutes instead. My car door was opened within 30 seconds, and the individual who assisted helped calm me down in a stressful situation. Additional advice was also given on how to submit this information to insurance for reimbursement. Highly Recommended! I busted the key/fob for my old Honda and the dealership wanted about $200 for a new key, would take several days and they'd need my car in the shop for awhile to "program" it. Based on a recommendation I went to Rick's. They asked if I still had all the pieces of my busted key. They quoted me $55 to fix it. Couple days later I walk in to drop off my key, Figured I'd pick it up the next week. They fixed it while I waited, took about 20 minutes. Also - they are full-service. If you have something involving a key, a lock, a door, a safe, pretty much anything to do with security I can't recommend this enough - give Rick's a call or drop in, they are an old-fashioned small business and have dedicated folks working for them. I was going to the grocery store strapped my granddaughter Lily in her car seat, I had laid my bag and my key in the passenger seat and shut the door, When I got to the driver's door it was locked with Lily inside and the key, I was panicked, Lily was only 2 and she couldn't get out of her seat and couldn't unlock the door, Thank God for Mike! I had scheduled someone to come out today. He pulled in my driveway and one hour later he was still sitting in my driveway talking on the phone. A neighbor pulled over to ask him something and then came back with a key for him to look at. After 45 minutes I took my dog for a short walk. When I came back I asked him if he was coming in. The locksmith was a man of few words, which I can appreciate, and he was professional and efficient. The cost was very reasonable; too. They charged a $55 service call fee and then $12 per lock. I use this company to unlock my door and make a key for my car. I gave them all the infor they needed for the key. Once he arrived, he did unlock my door and start my car, but one he cut if off and gave me the key, I notice that it was not the key I use to lock, and unlock my car or to start if without being in the car and the alarm goes off when you open the door. He said to come to the shop in the morning and they will cut me the key because they did not have that particular one in the shop. But once I got there and went in, one of the salesperson ask he could help and I showed him the key and he said we will have to order the key you need because we do not have any in stock, but the cashier, said to him we have some over there and to cut the key for me. But again, as I was waiting, the cashier said it will be another charge for the key, I could not believe it, I told him I just paid a large price for this key that doesn't work properly and you asking for more money, so he then said I will give it to you for a third of the price. I paid the money, thank him and left. They will not worry about me calling them for any kind of key ever again. They know how to lie good, and take your money. OMG!!!!! Where to start?? So I called yesterday for a service appointment. I was told they would have to check into my request and will get back to me. They did not. So I called back and was told rudely they just haven't gotten to me yet. This was six hours later. So anyways, I was told that the service person would be out today around noon. Fine, I came home from work to be here. A little after 12, I called to confirm. I was told that the service person would be out between 12 and four. That was news to me. The dispatcher said they only give out four hour time windows and that the person yesterday was incorrect. When I asked if she could give me more specific time she said no. I asked to speak to manager, who said the same thing, that the person yesterday was wrong. She also misgendered me four times in a row after I corrected her. Her snarky response was that she did not feel well. How on earth is that an excuse for repetitively misgendering me??????? All in all, the customer service with this organization is an absolutely awful. Their customer facing people should never be anywhere near a customer! And I haven't even had the service done yet..... read more
