When we questioned why our receipt didn't reflect the alleged discount, we were told that firstly, our tech entered us into the savings program to save $300. We asked why the total didn't reflect that and were told that the discount was taken out on the receipt, yet they don't show you what it is. If that is true, two toilet installs, a valve replacement and bidet attachment install was nearly $2,000. It also took 5 days to receive the said receipt. Overall, we'll be looking for another, more affordable plumber.

The one star is for being charged twice, once for $1156.56 at 1:15pm and then for $1099 at 2:13pm on August 8th for a water heater that was supposed to cost $1099, and for being gaslit by two people after calling twice to report the double-charge and sending a photo of a screenshot of my bank transactions clearly showing that I was charged twice. On August 8, 2025, at 10:35 am, a technician from Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing was dispatched to my home for a leaking water heater and suspicion of leaking pipes due to some water damage to ceiling tiles in my basement. I paid the dispatch fee of $59.00 from my checking account using my debit card on July 18, 2025. Thankfully, the water damage was old, so I only needed a replacement water heater. I agreed to have my water heater replaced for the price of $1099. The water heater was replaced, and Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing charged my debit card for $1156.56 at 1:15 pm, which was the time that the job was complete. I thought the total may have included the dispatch fee (I forgot I paid this in July) or tax, so I wasn't alarmed that the charge was $56.56 over the $1099 price I was quoted. Then, my card was charged again for $1099 at 2:13 pm for one gas water heater that was supposed to cost $1099. Because both are pending transactions, I was directed by my bank to contact the vendor. When I called, I was gaslit by two different people, who told me I must be mistaken because they don't have the capability to double-charge, blamed my bank, and suggested I dispute the transaction as my only recourse. I called Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing at 2:36 pm, as soon as I saw that I was charged $1099 as a second charge, and spoke to Madison, explaining that I had been charged twice for the water. Madison proceeded to gaslight me, stating that the company can't double-charge and requested I email a picture of my pending transactions. I emailed a picture of my pending transactions, as requested (see photo). Hailey, who answered the second time I called, confirmed that she received and could view the picture, but still proceeded to tell me that Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing cannot double-charge me. She then blamed my bank and told me I could dispute the transaction. I informed Hailey that the transaction information was identical for both charges. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will update my review if the BBB complaint is addressed by Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing. Update 8.15.2025: Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing addressed my BBB complaint and refunded the additional $1156.56 charge on August 13th. I am thankful that they addressed this mistake promptly.

Extremely rude to begin with!…read more I had a leak in the bathroom at my Bethel park house. My Homeserv Insurance would cover the repair cost, and they lead me to the Geiger Plumbing. It was an emergency work as the house is in the process of getting sold by the end of June, but Geiger couldn't care less. Despite several calls starting from the middle of June, I could not get an appointment date. They told me very stubbornly that they would do the job whenever they can, and will not give me any date. Upon contacting the Insurance company and informing the situation, they authorized me to call another plumber and they came and did an excellent job in just 2 to 3 days notice. Geiger called me about 3 weeks later on Tuesday July 14, 2006 and informed that they would come and do the job next day. I told them it was too late and I didn't own the house anymore. I have never come across a business outfit like this. I hope nobody has to go through the pain and sufferings that I went through.

I was doing a favor for a neighbor who had a water line burst on her. She had an insurance contract…read morewith the water company that covers her in the event of leakage and this company is one of their recommended repair companies. The man who came to her house advised me that after using sound technology the "leak" was actually coming from my property since part of her line crossed over to my backyard. I gave written permission with the understanding thinking that if her pipe was indeed causing backflow into my yard then it must be addressed. The letter the neighbor wrote also indicated that once the work was done Mister Sewer would arrange sometime in the future to have a landscaper come out and repair damage to my yard. The original agreement was written as basic restoration consisting of "soil and seed." Later on when the owner signed off on it the limitations per her insurance contract limited them to basic restoration which was "seed and straw" as well as leveling. I was not given opportunity to initial this change as acceptable since I received a printed copy with the signature and addendum. On the day they did the work and dug up the area as deep as a grave the water line was tested. There was no leakage at all coming from the pipe that was under my yard but rather was somewhere under the concrete below her deck. They completed the project by forcing out the defective copper using an underground snake technique from her water shut off valve in her home. They replaced the line with what they call a superior plastic by Uponor. My understanding was that this pex product expands and contracts and is more durable than copper and will last longer. I did learn that without this insurance the base cost is at least $2500.00. My neighbor was grateful and pleased with the work they had done. I, on the other hand, have to consult other landscapers in order to get the right information on how to properly restore my lawn as well as allow for eventual settlement where the hole was dug. Hopefully in time I will get the information needed and go accordingly. I'm sure they are a fine company to work with but when you are filing an insurance claim they usually use the least invasive means possible and must limit their work and restorations according to the guidelines set by the insurance company. Please be aware of that fact if you are paying a water/sewer insurance premium on your water bill.
