Words cannot express how I feel about Dr. Chen and Richmond Plastic Surgeons. I'm very particular about who, what, or where I go for any personal services or eateries. I research everything thoroughly, and I'm also very brutally honest. If you don't know how I feel about you in the first five minutes of interacting with me, then you're obviously dead, or close to it. I had been researching for some personal service providers for almost five years. I first went to Richmond Plastic Surgeons in 2018 with one of the other doctors in the practice. I was not ready at the time, but they were on the top of my list. I left feeling disappointed but encouraged. I read both negative and positive reviews about Dr. Chen and the practice, but it's like anything you're spending money on, be it a restaurant or personal care--it's either for you or not. Also, sometimes your spirit is just off, and the timing isn't right. I also saw unbelievable results by patients who had procedures done by him. They always raved about his skills, his bedside manner, and the results. I write reviews often, but only if I feel compelled to share my experiences. I hate to say this and sound insensitive (not really, lol) to the experiences of the other reviewers who felt that they didn't have the best experience with Dr. Chen. I must say that I have read raving reviews about this fake misappropriating Cuban alleged food restaurant in town that serves the nastiest food, and that disgusting place is always jam-packed, which I don't understand. So, I don't take too many reviews seriously. The man is good, but if you feel like crap about yourself and are a sight to begin with, then I don't know that anyone can help you. Also, the one type of practitioner that I DEMAND to be confident and cocky is the effin Plastic Surgeon who's working on me! Jeez Louise! Don't you? You better have a Semi-Stank badass attitude! IJS! I want them so secure and confident about the gifts of God they have been blessed with, that it's almost disgusting, lol. I want to leave assured that they're going to do what I request of them, not what they want to do with me, and I demand brutal honesty. In 2018, I was advised to wait (sometimes we want to do what we want in spite of the risks to everyone; we can be delusional). This year, I finally had enough and bit the bullet and decided it was time to take care of myself. From the moment I met him, I knew he was the one. He was friendly, attentive, professional and confident. He listened to what I wanted and gave me his honest opinion. Dr. Chen advised me that he didn't feel comfortable doing something I requested, and although I wanted what I wanted (delusion overload), I'm glad I listened to the expert. I'm so thankful and glad I went the route Dr. Chen helped me plan out for myself, or my experience might not have been as fruity and pleasant as it was. He explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. He showed me before and after photos of his previous work, and I was blown away by the transformations. I decided to give him a try and booked a consultation. After my procedure he came to the hospital each day I was there, and he and his staff have been accessible through every step! He made me feel comfortable and confident. Angie and Sochi *sp. even made it onto my Christmas list, lol (A very difficult list to get on, lol) I scheduled my surgery, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Dr. Chen did for me exactly what I wanted and went beyond my expectations. He is a miracle worker! He gave me the body I always dreamed of, repaired so many of my existing issues, and helped restore the confidence I haven't had in quite some time (believe it or not, I was more confident in my obesity than I am now). He changed my life for the better. If you've never happily cursed or cried, then he's not the doctor for you, but every time I look at myself, I don't believe the transformation, and can't believe how much easier Dr. Chen and his team made my healing process go. The practice is only as good as its leadership, and you better believe the team is thorough (another significant selling point). They were caring, supportive, and helpful throughout the whole process. They made me feel like family. My reviews are pretty consistently my authentic self. I'm not saying he might not have been an ass to someone, or someone at the practice dropped the ball, that has happened to me. IJS do your due diligence, don't take it from me. At the end of the day, it's all about me! I can't recommend Dr. Chen and Richmond Plastic Surgeons enough. If you're looking for a top-notch plastic surgeon who can deliver amazing results, look no further than Dr. Chen. He is the best of the best. Trust me, you won't regret it. I made my consultation appointment for a simple procedure almost a month ago, and I was so excited. I felt a little unwelcome from the moment I entered the waiting room, as a plus size woman in athleisure, but I didn't pay much attention to it, as it was the surgeon I was there to see. Angie, the surgery coordinator who took me back to the room where I would meet Dr. Ladosci, and Allison, his nurse, were both very warm and kind. I have absolutely no negative feedback about them. It took Dr. Ladosci 3 minutes to dismiss me as a possible surgery candidate because of my BMI. He did not ask, but I am a healthy woman who exercises 5 times a week, practices intuitive eating, has no health issues other than depression and low iron, and have successfully undergone general anesthesia within the last 12 months for a uterine surgery with no issues whatsoever. I was completely blindsided by this, as it was the first time anyone had indicated to me in the process of acquiring this appointment that I would be unfit to receive a simple neck liposuction procedure. He was also clearly uninterested in exploring non-surgical measures with me. It was immediately clear to me that Dr. Ladosci did not deem me or my money worthy of his time or talents. In a way, I'm relieved, because I've been turned off of plastic surgery entirely and I'm so glad I didn't pay thousands of dollars to have an entitled narcissist with too much money suck a pocket of fat out of my face. I only hope that going forward, the staff can probe a little more thoroughly into things about a prospective client - like their weight - that might cause them to also wait a month to be humiliated by a man who's too tan for March. read more

That loser they just hired , claims to have license in 9 states and her work quality is pathetic. They don't even have a magnifying glass to look at your skin, they use a magnifying mirror. If you're a customer, seeing my comment and you're also upset, please contact the BBB , the Federal Trade Commission and contact the Attorney General Office of the state of VA. The removal of a basal cell carcinoma from my face was not the horror I imagined. Starting with the nurse who checked me in, Nurse Blevins who took me back to undress, Dr. Dalton, who discussed anesthesia, someone named Gus (I think), several others, and, of course, Dr. Wornom, all were wonderful! I was asleep and then awake almost before I realized what happened. Someone called to check on me at home, and I was happy to report very little pain and good healing progress. After being referred to here I had my consult with Dr Chen the whole thing took 15 min he assured me everything would go fine with approval from the insurance company and take about a week for a decision. Well 3 weeks pass and No follow up from anyone I kept calling and they said they haven't heard anything I finally reached out to the insurance and they said they denied it weeks prior I called back the office and explain what the insurance said and that it could be appeal and what would be the next steps . Well I get an email with a price list saying I had 6 months for the quote . The worst experience every . RIchmond Plastic Surgeons is the best in Richmond for cosmetic plastic surgery & Aesthetics . They have state of the art equipment for non surgical treatments like skin tightening, fat reduction, and skin resurfacing. They also do a great job with injectables like Botox & fillers. Surgically they offer every cosmetic procedure You can think of. Most of what I've done there is non-surgical but I do know people who have had tummy tucks, breast procedures, even hair transplants and all of them are happy. I heard they used to focus on insurance based procedures but their focus now is cosmetic. Their new office in West Creek is gorgeous and they have a dedicated cosmetic team just for elective patients. I highly recommend this practice if you need something cosmetic in nature. read more

My experience with Dr Chen and RPS was a painful nightmare. On the recommendation of my dermatologist I went to Chen for upper eyelid surgery because my right eyelid was impairing my vision. When I was there Chen suggested I have a brow lift, which he said would be stitches along my hairline that would pull up my eyebrows and help with my vision. He also suggested that I have my lower lids done at the same time as it was a minor addition that would improve the puffiness below my eyes. Everyone was friendly, told me this was an easy surgery and that patients are up and about after a day. One person told me I needed a person to stay with me the first night just in case I got confused from the anesthesia. Two weeks before my surgery I saw Chen for a pre-op. I had a list of questions, but he wanted to talk about a different procedure called "netting" he wanted to do in place of the brow lift. It was hard to follow what he was saying, but I trusted him and said yes, figuring it was comparable to the brow lift which was just to be a few stitches. The surgery was horrid. I had bandages wrapped around my head and I could barely see because it was covering my whole forehead and part of my eyes. Also Chen said I'd have a stitch at the corners of each of my eyes, but they were a third in and my lids were pulled together into slits which made it hard to see. That first night I was in incredible pain and I called the doc on call twice and finally he upped my pain meds, which helped. I've never been in such pain before - I laid in bed telling myself over and over that I was going to be okay. On the call the doctor called my surgery "barbaric." I had to have someone with me for four days because I couldn't see and I was shaky from the experience - it was over the weekend, and the bandages would normally come off the day after, but I had to wait until Monday. No one called for days to see how I was. When I went in, one of the nurses quipped "I bet you are mad at Dr Chen." Not funny. After the bandages were off I discovered I had several staples in my head! No one told me I'd get staples. And there were stitches from the side of one temple all across my forehead to the other side of my temple - the "netting" I guess - dozens of stitches covering all areas of my forehead. I found out later I was only the second person he had done this procedure with. I would never have done it if I had known what it was going to be like. As they realized I was unhappy everyone became unfriendly. I have little permanent bumps all along the incisions under both of my lower eyelids that one nurse just told me to massage and they would go away. They have not and its been almost six months. My upper eyelids were really puffy, and I went to someone else for lymphatic drainage, which didn't help either. Part of my head along my hairline is still numb six months later - I expect it is permanent. And the vision in my right eye has not improved. The upper eyelid still impairs my vision. I did fill out an extensive evaluation for RPS and their surgery center, and no one ever responded to my concerns. In the end it felt like a factory - ones they got me signed up their attention and care went down. Do not use this place. read more

Avoid this place. If you want service and care more elevated than what you anticipate from the Dollar Store don't go here. Horrible practice. Rude staff with exception of one awesome woman. Dr. Chen is unprofessional on every level. Countless issues from service to quality to professionalism. There are other plastic surgeons and dermatology practices. Dr. Chen needs to go get some necessary "training" and realize until he does that he isn't the only plastic in-town offering his services. Sadly, I wanted to believe in the practice, in Dr, Chen and his capabilities to provide me what I wanted. Instead he is every which way of awful creating distrust in any of his skills or capabilities. If you can't trust your doctor or the practice operations or even rudimentary courtesy than you have nothing -- and I certainly want a hell of a lot more than nothing. Even more pathetic is I have had superlative service with a smile at the Dollar Store and after what I've experienced with Dr. Chen would trust the results of a non-invasive procedure from one of the workers there at this point over Dr. Chen. In fact his office staff could take communication and courtesy lessons from Dollar Store employees. Why? Because they actually give a damn and provide some level of care and quality service that meets and exceeds expectations. Night before a surgery and guess who I get a call from saying that they actually didnt get an approval from my insurance company when they assured me they did and I took 2 weeks off from work. My surgery was scheduled for 2/12 @730am.  So basically after following up with everyone today 2/12, I still dont have the surgery rescheduled. I had to call the surgeons office several times today just to get updates and to give them the info that they needed even though it is their responsibility to contact them. The office manager Debbie yell at me and defended that this was not their fault bc they checked Anthems website daily to see if it was approved yet..  instead of calling them like they should have when they saw that it was not approved Friday. The reason it wasnt approved is bc we decided to change the location bc I decided to get an additional procedure that i was going to pay out of my pocket for. When i told them i would like to do this procedure i told the i wanted to make sure that the location change would not mess with the approval. If it did we would leave things how they were. They assured me it wouldnt. Low and behold, I had to call at 5 tonight to find out what was going on and Debbie hung up on me when I told her not to interrupt me bc she had been interrupting me as soon as she heard me getting ready to say something. I wasnt being rude, yelling or anything. She hung up on me and I called back and left a message for Dr. Chen to call back... 742, no call back. I gave them until 7 before I called the on call number to have them page the on call dr to find out if they got me scheduled for tomorrow... no call back from them either...  This practice has no intention on doing my surgery. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Richmond Plastic Surgeons. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I had a breast reduction performed back in March and Dr. Wornom did a fantastic job. I am very happy and wish I had done the surgery a long time ago. Dr. Wornom took the time to explain the surgery to me and I felt very comfortable having the surgery done. I went to Richmond Plastic Surgeons a couple months ago and met with Dr Ledosci or whatever his name is to talk about a possible procedure. Rather than telling me why I wasn't a good candidate for the procedure or why he didn't want to operate on me he simply told me to have a nice day and left after asking me some questions about where I worked and then the nurse escorted me out. It was so weird and unprofessional...Anyways I saw another doctor that was lot better. It's just strange what he did like it was so weird I can't explain. Maybe he a sociopath or summ i don't know but I dipped out of there after having to ask the nurse why he did that (she gave me the right explanation) But anyway there are a lot better surgeons with better prices as well who aren't strange either. 2 stars lol. read more

As long as I can remember I didn't like the way my arms looked. I waited a long time to have surgery to get rid of unwanted skin. I chose richmond plastic surgeons to have Brachioplasty. I am very unhappy with the results! I had an appointment to discuss with my Dr my options for fixing it. I was told that I would have to pay a significant amount of money to have it fixed. I have never heard of such a thing. I have to pay to have you fix what you messed up? I am left with botched arms and no other option than to just keep covering my arms the way I have my whole life. I am a retired 32 year, combat airborne veteran Colonel (female.) I would give "0" stars if I could .My review will not refer to Dr. Hubert as "doctor." In my opinion, he is not one. He told me both my over 35 year-old silicone implants were busted after reviewing MRI. Surgery was scheduled to remove and replace with saline. Pre-op appointments went well while his office received payments up front for this procedure. Hubert stated I would also need a mastopexy (breast lift) procedure, which I also paid for up front. After awakening from surgery, Hubert said I did not need the mastopexy (breast lift) and would be refunded for the procedure. Upon seeing my breast that night, I was horrified. The left and right did not match at all. I called next day and was told we could discuss at post-op visit. I was assertive with Hubert during the 1st post op appointment and made it clear how astonished I was that this could happen. He appeared shocked that a patient would look him in the eye and hold him accountable??? After this visit, my next two post-op appointments were cancelled by his office, the refund and insurance filing was presented to me in such a convoluted manner, it was unbelievable. When I insisted on clear details on what was being done, Debbie, the officer manager, appeared to become flustered and hung up as she has done on other patients per review section. I received a letter stating they were referring me elsewhere??? Do they really think I would go to anyone HUbert referred??? Hubert failed to take responsibility for his botched procedure, I only received a $500 refund for the breast lift he did not do, which cost much more than that. I have scheduled surgery with a new surgeon, not in any way affiliated with Huber,t to correct his major mistakes. He also admitted they made mistakes in codes for payments??? I will pay another surgeon to correct the horrible mistake Hubert made and ran from accepting responsibiity. As well, there is on-going pain in one breast that I have to have checked by new surgeon. I greatly discourage anyone from letting Hubert get near them with a scalpel. I wish I had been so warned. I am including my cell number with this review if anyone considering using him, wants to discuss. I have photos of botched surgery and emails (from Hubert.) I will screen any calls I receive carefully. I will also, for the first time in my life, initiate a law suit. This is against hubert and will start after my corrective surgery is complete and photos and documentation from new surgeon are finalized. D. first let me say that I am not one to usually complain, even after receiving bad service, but I feel this situation was handled extremely poorly and unprofessional...so I found the need to share. I started going to cosmedics/RPS about six months ago to receive skin care treatments (facials, peels, etc) for pleasure. sandra was the esthetician and I fell in love with her. after receiving a few facials and having many talks with her about the concerns with my skin, I made the decision to start having laser hair removal treatments. I was told that I would need 6-8 treatments to achieve the best results, and then after that I would probably be good for about a year before having to come back every so often to maintain with single treatments. this was a huge decision for me because of what it was going to cost to get these treatments. but I was comfortable with sandra and trusted what she was telling me, I was excited. the office would have one laser day per month so that is when I would go, once a month on that specific day. I received four treatments and was really starting to tell a difference in the hair being treated, I felt it was going to be very successful for me. I called the next month to get put on the laser day schedule and receive my 5th treatment and was told they were no longer doing the laser hair removal and we're not sure when it was coming back. I found this very odd...like why did I have to find this out on my own, and what in the world happened that they're no longer doing it? I had two different facial treatments already scheduled with sandra after this. I got a call a few weeks before those appts and was told Sandra was no longer there and they wanted to let me know, but says another lady (gaylen) could still do them when I had them scheduled. I decided to cancel the appts at that time as I did not know this person and was just kind of turned off after the whole laser treatment situation, and now sandra being gone. by now it had been about 2 months since my last laser treatment. because I was not keeping up with the monthly treatments to reach my ultimate 6-8 treatment plan, I could completely tell that my hair was coming back. it just didn't feel good anymore like it did while undergoing the consistent treatments. this highly upset me as I had already spent $800 on these treatments! what was going to happen to us clients that were right in the middle of treatments such as these. I completely felt like I had wasted all of that money for nothing! I decided to call the office and express my concern. I spoke to a very sweet receptionist who was very compassionate and said she completely understood my frustration and said that she would feel the same. she took my info and said there was a new spa manager (gaylen) that would give me a call. gaylen called back soon after to hear what was going on. first, she was not very personable or compassionate at all so I could tell I really wasn't going to get anywhere. she explained that there had been a lot of changes within the office and they just didn't know when the laser removal was going to come back. she said she could refer me to someone else in the area but I was not having that, if I wanted to go somewhere else I would. the point was, I started a 6-8 week plan of laser treatments and you took it away halfway through...and now my hair is growing back! my money is wasted, and $800 was already a huge investment for me. she basically said she would talk to someone above her and get back to me. she called the next day and said that after talking to whoever that was, the only thing she could do for me was refer me somewhere else. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? how about refund me the money I wasted, or at least half!? it was very clear she didn't care one bit and went on to tell me how other businesses stop doing treatments all the time. I could care less what anyone else does, I care that I have spent $800 at this spa for basically nothing. this "spa manager" just didn't care at all. I am so thankful I chose to cancel those facial appts considering she was the person who would be giving them to me. I will never go back to this place. it's obviously one big mess now, doesn't sound like anyone who works there even knows what's going on. read more
