I've been working from home since the pandemic hit, and my office chair from 2007 was not cutting it anymore. So this past week, I went on the hunt for a new chair to expense. My limit was $200, so I was looking for a nice chair below that price.
Richmond Office Interiors is in a more industrial location just west of Scott's Addition and offers an array of used chairs. We were greeted immediately upon arriving. I mentioned I was looking for a chair with back support.
The best ones they had were bright red; comfy but ugly -- a consideration for small apartment where the chair would be a statement piece. They also had a blue one that I liked quite a bit. I asked how old it was; it was from 2014 and was $190. I was hesitant based on the age and being unsure how much use its received in that time. I would've been more likely to buy it had the price been $90 less.
The salesperson Christian was super nice, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. I told him I planned to shop around before making a decision. I did opt to purchase a new chair for $173 on sale at Office Max later that day, but this is a great alternative to consider as well. read more
