He didn't take note of major systems in the home, did not look at the appliances, didn't know if the walls were plaster or Sheetrock, refused to look under or behind furniture and rugs, and focused on small stuff. When we asked about a specific item, he replied that he's a generalist and we'd have to get a specialist. Okay, but he seemed to miss even the general things. We closed 2 months ago and have since had numerous service providers ask how our inspector missed XYZ issue. I wish I'd known. I would not recommend Larry to anyone purchasing a home, especially an older home.

He clearly came NOT dressed to do an inspection. He had no tools, not even a flashlight. The 3 major areas I wanted checked he barely gave a cursory glance. The water system, he had no idea what it was or how it worked, again didn't bother to turn it on. Rot on outside boards he looked at visually, when I asked if he thought the rot extended deeper he said he had no way of knowing that. I could go on and on but I think the point has been made. These are all answers I could have guessed at myself and saved myself close to $500. And the roof , we'll he said that looked good, from the ground!! When I called to complain, not that it would do much good since Todd is the owner, I was told he was dressed in linen shorts and a dress shirt because he was coming from a golf tournament. I used Harvest Inspection Services (Fred D.) as an inspector when I was purchasing my home. I…read morearrived to the inspection about 20 minutes early and Fred was already at the house, walking around outside and looking at the roof. Fred was extremely thorough, spending about 4hrs with me walking all around the house, taking pictures, taking notes and pointing things out to me as we went along. While we were walking through the house, Fred's septic inspection was outside working hard (additional cost, but well worth it in my opinion). When everything was wrapped up I had a septic report in hand, and a promise to have my complete home inspection report within 24hrs (it showed up at around 8pm the same night of the inspection). All-in-all, Fred is extremely knowledgeable in his field and it shows in his work and his excellent write-up of the home. Fred's recommended and hired Septic inspector was just as good. I highly recommend Fred and Harvest Inpsection services! Next time I buy a house, Fred will certainly be invited out!
