Very helpful and friendly staff. Bedtime story reading and Bounce and Rhyme for babies. Lots of information leaflets and displays in the foyer. Can also borrow CDs and DVDs. If something isn't in stock it can be reserved and this is free if the reservation is made on a children's ticket. Has recently become automated which is a shame because it reduces interaction with the very pleasant staff. Everyone should be a member of a library!

Tavistock post office is well-stocked, well-staffed and has much longer opening hours than many…read more(open all day Saturday e.g.). Also has a Spar attached that stocks lots of local foods, fresh produce, newspapers, cards etc etc. Staff are generally friendly, the premises are big enough to comfortably take a pushchair and the queues are not usually too long. There are a few parking spaces at the rear of the shop but as it is in the centre of the town access is not difficult from the many other town-centre car parks.
