We entrusted our pride and joy to Exeter Street Auto-Centre after calling in to speak to the guys in person to get a feel for the place before we decided what to do. Everyone we encountered were polite, informative and friendly and they were all happy to chat making the decision for us easy to make. Sure, you can trawl around looking for cheaper and you may save a couple of quid here or there but you are getting good service and quality care for your car along with piece of mind. Just wanted to say a huge 'thank you' for the service offered to me and my sick Toyota. I dropped in with the engine losing power and pumping out loads of black toxic smoke. Admittingly it took a few days and a couple of return visits but the front of house care from Carl and the tenacity and attention of mechanic Ivan (with input from Dmitri) tracked down the faulty sensor and valve and now 'all is well'. The team were polite and professional at all times and they kept me well informed throughout the period. read more

I took my Car to Halfords in Plymouth for two new tyres. After a day my car's management system displayed an alert every time I drove the car saying that there was a tyre sensor failure. I took it back t Halfords and they reset the management system. However, a day later the alert appeared again. So again I took it back to Halfords and they have now said this is nothing to do with them!!! and have accepted no responsibility for this stating it is a back tyre sensor that is failing. My car was perfectly alright before it went into Halfords. I am extremely disappointed with the situation and how it has been handled and would not recommend anyone to use Halfords for tyres. I took my car here for an MOT and the staff were very friendly and willing to offer advice. They were very efficient and friendly and gave me a call when the car was ready to be collected. They offered advice without being pushy and I was abe to get my car in at a time convenient to me without a long wait. read more

Took first car here for its first service and MOT, thinking the Halfords brand would offer service of a certain standard. I wasn't given any kind of receipt for the service or a description of what they'd done, and shortly after I checked the engine oil level and it was completely empty of oil. also had an advisory on the mot for the front near side brake disc wearing thin. filled oil up and it's held ever since so not leaking or anything. Took the car back for a free brake check as there was some squealing from one of the wheels and hoped they could diagnose the issue, they wanted nearly £600 to fix a whole host of problems, various parts that needed replacing, including rear brake discs (no mention of front disc that was supposedly wearing thin 6 months previously). Took the car to a savvy family member and checked all brakes (all discs within limits) and fixed the problem by cleaning some muck out, cost nothing! Avoid this place unless you like throwing £100s at con artists. read more
