Wish I could go but doesn't accept United Health Care. If you have UHC, they will file it... they just do not take it.

If hadn't already gone through the tests and didn't need the results then would've walked out. He only turned decent when his assistant walked in the room. Ridiculous behavior for a senior doctor. I can only imagine how he treats his staff.

At my last (and final) appt he said that I would possibly need laser treatments. I was trying to explain why I was apprehensive about getting lasers again due to a bad experience at a prior office and the effect it had on my eyes. Dr. Patel rudely interjected and felt I was questioning his decision which it was obvious he seemed very offended by. I explained I had severe anxiety disorder. I asked for the nurse to go get my sister from the waiting room to join us to hopefully help Dr. Patel understand my situation. The nurse did not go get her nor would Dr. Patel agree to speak to us concerning the major decision (pro/cons) of reintroducing laser treatment as well as my anxiety disorder being the reason I ask questions (something I felt he seemed extremely offended by). I told him I had only been a patient of his for a few months and was trying to find out the reason he felt I needed to go back to lasers (He didnt seem to like that). Dr. Patel said he completely supported my prior retinologists decision to do so many laser treatments on me WITHOUT ever allowing me to explain the situation. Dr. Patel said since I did not "trust" him for me to find a different doctor. I did stop him to ask about one of the potential side effects of the injection medication which could be a detached retina. When I asked him if my retina was still attached he told me that was an irrelevant question and that the questions I asked were irrelevant and that he had other patients to see. I asked him for an official number I could call to report him and he said I could report him and that he had done nothing wrong. I have seen many doctors over the 30 years I have suffered with a chronic illness and this was the worst I have EVER been treated by a doctor. I don't understand it. Now I am tasked with finding another doctor. Perhaps to prevent such an occurrence in the future this doctor could benefit from training on how to interact with patients with severe anxiety disorders. I DID NOT deserve to be treated this way. I deserve an apology from Dr. Patel. Will I get one? I don't think so.
