I wasn't sure about going to a new dentist after 40 years with Dr. Marty before he retired, but…read moresince Dr. Kosek was recommended, I decided to sign up. I needed just a regular 6-month checkup and cleaning; I was happy to be able to make an appointment with the same dental hygienist I had been seeing for years. Dr. Kosek stopped by to take a look at my mouth, and he spent several minutes chatting with me. I feel very confident going back to see them again.

This used to be a great place to go for dental care when the former owner Sven Erickson, DDS was…read morethere. Unfortunately now it's a whole different story. The new owner, is efficient but not very people friendly. The previous office staff was knowledgeable in billing, insurance and taking care of the patient's financial responsibility. Now, they are not only charging more for almost every service, but the billing and insurance is a complete mess. We needed to change our dental insurance company and called to make sure Modern would take what we were considering. They said absolutely 'yes', so we signed up. After routine cleanings, and xrays for me, we received a bill for nearly $600. as our payable. When I asked about it they said they were not actually 'in network' for the insurance company. I explained we made our choice base on making sure with them it was a company they worked with before we signed up ... to no avail. It fell on deaf ears - when it comes to the new owner Andrea the priority is the money, not doing the right thing by her patients. Save your self time and grief and go elsewhere. We have found another 5 star dentist in the area that whose staff are excellent, friendly, took our insurance information first so we are not being charged unfairly. The new Modern is in business only to make money, and not what the old Modern was all about - namely taking care of their patients in all aspects. If you look at the reviews you will notice that most of the good ones are from the past, and the newer reviews are like mine - they are overcharging both the insurance companies and their patients. Maybe it's just a sign of the times - money is the major priority and taking care of people is a distant thought. But please be aware there are alternatives out there who still do the right thing by their patients - this outfit is not one of them!

Coming from my previous dental office, where everything was very old school, to Dr. McGill's office was a night and day difference. Dr. McGill's office has digital x-rays which for me made them much easier to have taken, they had a camera to take photos of my mouth so Dr. McGill can show me on a tablet areas he is referencing, etc. Due to how impressed I was with Dr. McGill's over all practice I decided to have some cosmetic work done. I am in the process of having my old silver fillings replaced with white ones. As a teenager I had traditional braces, and have never been fully satisfied with the end results.
