They used up all my dental coverage for the first year with no consideration if I legitimately need dental work and when I did need dental work and was in pain I had no coverage let because they used it all based on greed and no consideration for the customer. I was rushed through my x-rays as if I was not paying for the service. After my x-rays and exam, the dental hygienist rushed through my gum measurements making sure to be forceful enough to make my gums bleed. In the end, I was not allowed to get a cleaning. Instead I was told that I needed invisalign (I am blessed with some of the straightest teeth possible), a replacement for a tooth far back in my mouth and root planing and scaling. I told them I only wanted root planing and scaling and they told me it would be $3,000+ for the service and maintenance. They then tried to pressure me to schedule the service. When asked why I couldn't just get a cleaning, they stated "it would be unethical" to clean my teeth without completing the root planing and scaling prior. I asked for a print out of the services they said I needed and promptly left. I had insurance so I was wondering why it only covered $50. Three months later, I started a new job and therefore started a new dental policy. This time I went to Park Dental in Coon Rapids and received a much better service overall. Not only was the facility immaculately clean, but after thorough, unrushed x-ray and exams, they cleaned my teeth without hesitation. No other service was recommended but regular cleanings. ASPEN IS A SCAM! I should have ran when I heard other customers complaining about their bill in the lobby before my appointment. BUYER BEWARE, and get a second opinion on anything they recommend.

But as we all got older and our dental needs increased, it was just too inconvenient driving all the way to the Macalaster College area from the northwest suburbs. Last summer, we interviewed 6 dental offices within a 3 mile radius of our home. River's Bend had, by far, the best dentist with the best reviews and the most professional staff. Ironically, they also had the best prices with their own in-house insurance program. The office is very beautiful too. It's designed like a rustic cabin with lots of wood, especially cedar - nice! Rumor has it that Dr. O's wife is an interior designer and she designed the whole office. My only problem is that Dr. Schultheis is close to retirement age.
