Upon arriving, the receptionists greeted me warmly and the office was clean and welcoming. (Parking is limited to a tiny lot or street parking, which I did not like, but there's not much they can do about that.) The technician who took me back for x-rays (Keya?) was INCREDIBLY nice to me which I really appreciated. I was very nervous and she was calm, gentle, and helped to make me feel more comfortable. I was so grateful for her. Then, the highlight of the entire visit: I met Dr. Margaree Lachowiez. I cannot recommend Dr. L enough. She made me feel incredibly safe in an environment that usually causes me a lot of anxiety. She is kind, knowledgeable, and charming. Beyond that, she really takes pride in her work and takes the time to do it right. After the dentist I'd seen all my life retired, I had a difficult time finding someone to replace him. I'm happy to say that now I have. Dr. Lachowiez will be my dentist from now on. Dental work is expensive, but they go over the entire breakdown of costs with you so there are no surprises. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming. I wish I could remember everyone's name, but I honestly have nothing negative to say about anyone there. The one mark against them: My husband had an appointment with Dr. L. and went in only to discover she is now at their other office, Ballwin Modern Dentistry (also a nice office). He said the dentist he saw instead was good, but was disappointed in the surprise switch up. Better communication in this matter would have been appreciated.

Voted best in St. Louis by her peers...this is absolutely legit. A treasure to the region and many of the "other guys" could learn a lot from these folks. The only surprise was super reasonable pricing for such quality work. Oh yeah, despite being the "champ" of the Gateway city, absolutely no ego which is very refreshing. The smells of the office, the pain, the condescending remarks about my teeth, the anxiety about where the money will come from. Anything and everything about even considering visiting a dentist makes me want to take a double dose of xanax. After visiting a few dentist with no such luck in the past 2 years I asked my doctor who I trust immensely if he had any recommendations and he gave me Dr. Zora Hanko's name/number. It took me a few days to finally call but when I did I was surprised that i was almost immediately put at ease by the incredibly kind receptionist. I briefly told her my concerns and the level of anxiety I generally have and she actually listened, took note and genuinely seemed to care. This morning I woke up 4 hours before my appointment due to an already increased build up of anxiety. It turns out none of this anxiety was necessary. After sitting in the waiting room for only about 5 minutes I was brought back to the exam room by the dental hygienist. I can not remember her name but she was so sweet and kind. Then Dr. Hanko came in and since she knew how anxious I was, instead of getting straight to work she sat down next to the chair and asked me to tell her about my self, what my concerns with my teeth are and what she could do to make my appointments easier. When I was giving her my information she listened, asked questions when necessary and not once made me feel judged. Then she asked if she could take a look in my mouth. Part way through her examining my teeth I realized for the first time ever I was sitting in a dentist chair and NOT shaking with anxiety. I left the appointment with a plan of action for my crazy teeth, another appointment and absolutely no anxiety in sight. Best. Feeling. Ever.
