I've been his patient for almost two years, and in that time he's been instrumental to the diagnosis and management of my debilitating and confusing pain. Dr. Nassiri has perfect bedside manner; he's extremely personable, kind, high energy, warm, and has a sincere passion for helping people get better that comes through in everything he does. He's brilliantly smart and truly works with his patients as an advocate to leave no stone unturned in getting to the source of their pain. In every single one of our encounters he has gone so far above and beyond what was expected, because he genuinely cares. Truly, there's nothing else one could ask for in a medical practitioner. I'd recommend any family member, friend, and of course many strangers on the internet to the care of Dr. Nassiri. He is the doctor who you want on your side when you're in pain. Also, Priscilla at the desk is an absolute gem. This office runs so smoothly and is perfectly streamlined when it comes to making appointments and scheduling procedures. They've got it down to a science. Thank you, Westside Pain Specialists for being all around wonderful during the extremely difficult experience of living with pain. Would give 10 stars if I could!

I found Roofian and saw his positive reviews (look closely you'll notice they are likely all fake - please look at the negative review those are the truth). His office confirmed multiple times that they were in network w/ my insurance. What they fail to mention is Roofian himself might be in network for your consultative visits but any procedure he does in his very same clinic is billed under 'R&R', a different name and is not in network. I met with Roofian and we discussed a radiofrequency ablation for my chronic pain. We discussed that insurance requires 2 medial branch blocks per side of my neck before the RFA can be completed and the process that required lidocaine injections for the medial branch block. I also told him many times the only thing I was consenting to be put into my body was lidocaine. I have extensive sensitivities to medications and thus was extremely clear. Each of the 4 times I came in for my branch blocks, I confirmed with the nurse assisting with the procedure that only lidocaine was being used, and each time received confirmation from the nurse that yes, it was only lidocaine. Throughout the several weeks it took me to get all 4 procedures, I was experiencing anxiety, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath. I did not relate this to this procedure as I've had lidocaine many times with no issue. It was not until the 4th procedure when I tried to schedule my RFA appointment that the nurse said I had to wait weeks to see if 'it worked'. I queried this as lidocaine wears off within hours. It was then disclosed to me that the doctor had been injecting dexamethasone into my body against my direct consent and w/o my knowledge. I have never felt so violated in my life. It was then that I looked into dexamethasone and realized my anxiety, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations were side effects of the drug I'd been given 4x against my consent. Not only that, but because of the long acting drug, I was not able to feel the limits of my pain and this resulted in the worse acute pain flare of up of my life. The first day of my flare up I was in so much pain I was vomiting for 12 hours straight, then I was bed ridden for 2 weeks. I couldn't even feed myself properly, I ate cold food from easy open cans for 2 weeks as that's all I could physically manage. It was excruciating to move even an inch, even to breath. This would not have happened if the doctor had not have numbed my ability to receive signals from my body that I count on to not over extend myself due to pain. I still needed my RFA, so I called 8 other pain doctors trying to get my RFA done. Every single one told me that b/c Roofian had used dexamethasone the procedure became therapeutic not diagnostic. The diagnostic procedure is only supposed to use lidocaine. Roofian did the procedure WRONG. He did not do diagnostic medial branch blocks. He did a therapeutic procedure. Not a single other doctor could give me the RFA based on these medial branch blocks. Not only that, they all told me that insurance would deny my request for an RFA based on these therapeutic blocks. These procedures are excruciating and I went through them for nothing. Out of sheer pain and desperation, I tried to make an appointment for the RFA w/ Roofian so I didn't have to subject myself to all that pain again. His officed refused until my bills were paid - then I received the bills. These bills were for thousands of dollars because the procedure was in fact out of network. I called the office countless times trying to deal with this. My lawyer dealt with it. The matter was settled. But every year they send me a bill again causing me extreme anxiety reliving what Roofian did to my body against my consent. I call them each time and they say it's dealt with until the next bill comes again. His office staff stand by him and his awful practices as well. Please stay at far away as you can from this man.

I have been suffering from acute pain for years and tried various treatments to cope with the pain…read morewithout success until I found Dr. Kamyar Cohanshohet or "Dr. K" as his patients and staff call him. Dr. K is a very special doctor, he listens attentively and treats more than just the symptoms. Dr. K has a background not just in pain management but also an in depth understanding of internal medicine and the etiology of pain. All of the doctors I had visited before Dr. K seemed like they didn't understand how pervasively devastating chronic acute pain is to the quality of life. Under-managed pain affects every aspect of one's life. Since I have been under treatment with Dr. K my quality of life has improved tremendously. My pain is now effectively controlled to the point where my work product, emotional well being and my ability to exercise have all improved dramatically. Being self employed I have a lot of responsibility to my business and employees and need to do my best at work. Being in constant and debilitating pain was interfering with my performance at work. Everyone I work with from my vendors, customers and employees have noticed the positive changes since I came under the care of Dr. K. I am being treated by various other specialists including a cardiologist and an endocrinologist. Dr. K is the first pain management doctor I have had that has asked to be read in on all of my reports from the different specialties. He has an intense interest in, and concern about, other factors affecting my health besides pain issues. This speaks volumes about his approach to caring for his patients. Dr. K also has a very professional and helpful staff. Claire is extra helpful and does her best to facilitate appointments, billing, etc., while being sympathetic and understanding to patients suffering from pain. A little side note about the man's character: Just as my wife and I are, Dr. K is an animal lover. One morning Dr. K found an abandoned kitten on the street and rescued the little guy, he actually brought it to his office and then found a safe placement for the kitty. He didn't just turn the kitten into any old animal shelter, he found a rescue organization that finds homes for their animals and does not euthanize and that is where he delivered the kitten. Dr. K has a heart of gold.

I was told during my initial call that the Dr would call me back in an hour (Friday). By Monday, after not having received any call back I called the receptionist. She stated that I was not a candidate and the Dr had decided he could not help me since I had asked a question about the mandatory UA (Urine Analysis). I was mid sentence in asking the receptionist another question and she rudely cut me off and just said she couldnt spend any more time with me and hung up. I have been treated for 5 years with my current pain specialist and have had a good relationship and had voluntarily dropped my own meds as well as being active in several kinds of PT programs. I was merely looking for a second opinion to discuss my therapy. I do not understand how a Dr could be so callous as to not even talk to me on the phone due to whatever a some recptionist told him. Don't waste your time with this Dr if you are looking for someone who is empathetic about your pain or discussing your treatment, and definately do not discuss anything with the receptionist (Gail). Best of luck if you are in pain, I know its not fun and wish you all the best in finding a Dr who is willing to sit down and discuss whatever aspects of your treatment are on your mind. His ad states you will have a free phone consult, which was not the case for me, insist on speaking to the Dr and do not speak to the receptionist. Maybe you will have better luck than I did.

While he provided some useful…read moreexercise and general movement recommendations, my overall experience was disappointing for several reasons: - After seeing me on a per-session basis for 3+ years, he informed me he would no longer continue care unless I enrolled in a $2,750 bundled "program." When I asked for clarification, he terminated the physician-patient relationship entirely. - I often felt he came to appointments unfamiliar with his own previous recommendations. For a cash-only concierge-type service, that is unacceptable. - Assessment notes were not provided unless I followed up multiple times. - He made repeated suggestions well outside of his areas of expertise that, to me, were clearly upsell plays (e.g. hormone replacement therapy and peptide use). These didn't feel evidence-based or aligned with my goals and seemed to go beyond his core expertise. If you value consistent follow-through, collaborative planning, and an evidence-based approach, you may want to explore other options.

MCS was unknown to me until it became apparent and disabling when when the fumes from "New and Improved" Tide and Bounce (emanating from the common laundry rooms in the building that I had been living in after leaving the level 4 Stachybotrys infested house) caused an instant, massive headache, difficulty breathing, walking and talking and knocked me out for 12 hours! I had to move in with my family to escape those laundry rooms. Unbeknownst to anyone living in my family's duplex, there was hidden, toxic black mold and other toxic molds. When these molds, very high levels of them, hidden in the ceilings and basement, became accidentally exposed, I got extremely ill and nearly died. I am a genitically slow detoxer. My understanding is that when we live in mold and toxins, we do not detox until we get out of the exposure. A year after leaving the moldy family house, I developed a very large cyst, starting on my liver where I had felt discomfort while living in that moldy house, even after remediation. I believe this was my body shunting toxins in to a cyst that my detox system could not handle. I sought a consultation with Dr. Jim based on a recommendation from a fellow moldy. I sent him all my test results and history of mold exposures going back to 1997. along with my entire health history which shows that I only get ill from mold or synthetic chemicals, never sick otherwise. All he said to me was "You have cancer". That is it. He refused to acknowledge my history of mold exposures and the resultant MCS or discuss any of the test results I had sent him. I had the giant fluid filled cyst removed laparoscopically and IT WAS NOT CANCEROUS. I do not and did not have cancer. I feel Dr. Jim should refund the $650.00 fee he charged me to ignore me and assume, incorrectly, that I had cancer! I have mold illness and MCS, not cancer or anything else and he did not, and would not address my actual issues.

I was put in touch with dr Berk after being highly recommended on sept 28th (injury happened on the 27th) I explained to him what I was feeling he recommended 1st to get an MRI to see what kind of damage was done and to have it sent directly to him. I received it on the 30th and they called me that day and over the phone he discussed the options I had and his recommendations. The Dr recommended that I come in for a PRP INJECTION on that Monday and then wait a day and do STEM CELL injections on Wednesday. He said think about it and do your research about it then let me know I didn't know much about either just knew more and more people are using these methods to heal themselves. I knew surgery would be what most Doctors would suggest and what comes with that is a long rehab and recovery and not 100 percent successful. I'm super active and I work on my feet and knowing I had work in I Europe within 5 weeks I would probably have to miss that work. So I did my homework talked to people some pro some anti but something inside of me said go do this. So I called the next day and set up the appointment in 2 days I forgot to mention I live in Miami Beach I jumped on a plane on a Sunday and I limped in excruciating pain into the office with a Medial meniscus bucket-handle tear in my left knee on a Monday was 1st frayed and fitted with an uploader knee brace then followed the PRP that morning rested all day Tuesday and went back for the Stem Cell Injection on Wednesday. Was told to rest Thursday and Friday and flew out Saturday morning The first 10 days was really rough but Dr and the staff were always checking in on me throughout the process. Asking me how i was feeling and what I could and couldn't do He had a plan and made sure I followed it It's now 3 weeks and one day and I can't believe how I'm feeling. The recovery is going better than i could've expected I've been rehabbing in the pool for about 8 days a little more each day gettin stronger and walking (not limping) with no pain (NO SURGERY!) A friend had posted her x-ray and a positive review on facebook from her visits with Dr Berk and so I made an appointment. My first visit was very thorough in terms of getting an x-ray, initial consultation & education about the Gonstead method, an adjustment & a much appreciated ice pack! Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome. Michael helped me find a low cost mri to examine my right knee more closely & that revealed a complex meniscus tear. At some point, when I can afford it, I plan to get a stem cell injection or prp as regenerative therapy. After a couple of adjustments, I added on rehab with Miranda who taught me several exercises to strengthen the muscles supporting my spine and to bring my neck & shoulders back into alignment. I would do the rehab before adjustments for 6 weeks twice/week thanks to Kristina who explained the options with my treatment plan. Kristina also explained & suggested trigger point injections for my lower back and I'm so glad she did because those really helped with soreness along the way. All therapies combined, I can tell you my lower back pain is gone, I feel 2 inches taller & grateful for the caring vibes from everyone in this caring, healing practice.
