Let me just say- we will 100% be back! The owner, Bruce, was super personable and stood around chatting with us and our friends for probably an hour. Seems like a very genuine person and very involved in the community. He's doing really cool things with his business and we're happy to support them now. He even gave us his lunch so that we could see how good it was. Totally unnecessary but very appreciated! The gentleman that does the grilling (can't remember his name) deserves an award for his tenderloin. It was fantastic! Seasoned to perfection, fresh, crispy... one of the best I've had in a long time. The tenderloin salad was SO good. My husband really enjoyed hanging out and talking with him as well. The woman in the kitchen (Anna I believe?)... SO SWEET! She brought us some homemade egg rolls to sample as we were leaving and they were absolutely DELICIOUS. The plum sauce was such a good touch and the ginger inside stood out and tasted amazing. The meat was very flavorful, the veggies inside were perfect, and the outside was crispy. I could easily stop once a week for her egg rolls... TOP NOTCH! The hang-out spot out back is cool! We love that it's nothing "fancy", it's like hanging out in a friend's back yard and we were able to park our SxS out back too. Everyone was chatty and happy to be there. Definitely a friendly crowd and our type of place! Being that we're only 13 mins away... I'm afraid we're going to be regulars now Definitely stop sometime! Food, music, friends, drinks, bingo nights, convenience store, ice cream, bait shop, ice, etc... one stop fun shop!

I tried the falafel sandwich from Btown Gyros. It wasn't BAD but I thought it was pretty meh. The falafels were okay but the tzatziki and hummus were bland. I added some Dat's hot sauce from the condiment table about halfway through the sandwich but even that somehow did very little. I think I'll give them another try and get something else to see if I like one of the platters more. They actually have a pretty nice eating area inside and on the patio. I feel like if they put some music on and invested more in the presentation, it could be a nice place to go and eat. The guy taking orders had two airpods in, which seems a little rude to me. I am sympathetic that this is probably not very stimulating work, but I don't like having to speak over whatever they're listening to. Wouldn't hurt to leave one ear open at least.

Little Italy Market is an absolute gem in Bloomington. Each has a Little Italy and other neighborhoods where you can experience the food, traditions, and culture of different communities. That's probably one of my biggest complaints about Indianapolis, there just isn't anything. Then you find this little Italian market tucked away in a Bloomington strip mall. Being Sicilian and Italian, every time I head down to Lake Monroe to take the boat out, Little Italy Market has become a mandatory stop to fill the cooler. The Turkey and the Many Meats are my go-to sandwiches, and they never disappoint. Everything is fresh, the portions are huge, and these are easily some of the best deli sandwiches I've found anywhere in Indiana. I actually find myself craving them when I'm back home in Indy. If I lived in Bloomington, I'd definitely be a regular for the Italian grocery selection too. But for me, the sandwiches are the star of the show. The family running the place is always incredibly friendly, and they're more than happy to add or change anything on a sandwich to make it exactly how you want it. Little Italy Market is one of those locally owned places you hope sticks around forever. Great food, huge sandwiches, friendly people, and a little taste of the Italian neighborhood culture I miss. I'm literally writing this on a Friday morning waiting for noon to roll around so they can open before I head down to the lake. That probably says everything you need to know. Easy 9.3/10 If you're in Bloomington, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

Time to update my review as the Butcher's Smokehouse has made some changes to their building. Some…read morethings are good, some things are not as good as before the remodel. The food (thank god!) is still good. Today they had free sides with their sandwiches, so we had pulled pork with free mac and cheese and pulled chicken with free BBQ beans. The side dish portions were considerably smaller than they used to be. Not sure if that was due to the "free sides" promo or not. The pulled pork is the best in town. I always get it with the traditional BBQ sauce. They serve the sauce on the side, so you can control how much goes on your sandwich. The food was terrific, we had missed it since they were closed awhile during the remodel. So, here's what we did not like. WAY less seating. 99% of the time, we ate there at Butcher's Smokehouse. They used to have probably 6 or 7 tables. Now there is one long counter with maybe five or six tall stools. It faces the window, which faces West, and the sun was beating down on us. There were three of us sitting there. If there had been more people eating in, it would have been way too close for comfort. You need some room to eat your BBQ. Not crazy about the lack of seating. Another drag, no free drinking water. They used to have water that you could serve yourself if you didn't want soda or some other purchased beverage with your food. That option was not available today, which was an unpleasant surprise. The customer service; Chanel rocked our world as usual. She came over and chatted with us and asked us what we thought about the changes. We told her what we thought, hopefully, the feedback will make it's way to the owner. She even gave us a handful of $2 gift cards to use the next time we eat there. It was nice that she remembered us from our many trips in for BBQ before the remodel. So, I took off a star because I am bummed about the seating and the lack of water. Hopefully, they will make some tweaks and I can hang that star back up where it belongs. Still the best BBQ in Bloomington.
