    What their vet tech did
    V M.

I do NOT recommend this vet clinic. Especially not for oral surgery. Please do not let these 5 star "reviews" fool you like they did me. Being new to the state I trusted the reviews and brought my 15yr old 3.5lbs chihuahua here. Who before this has been completely healthy and normal, especially at his age aside from having bad teeth. - From May of this year (2021) till Dec 1, I have spent close to 5k here. -They preformed oral surgery on my dog, who is STILL having health COMPLICATIONS from it even after a full MONTH. It has severely compromised his quality of life, and I can't help but blame myself for taking him here. -They also removed ALL his teeth even after I TOLD their vet tech (big heavy set Caucasian lady named Talisha) at drop off that I did NOT want all his teeth out. - did NOT do a good job at monitoring my dog while he was in their care, which resulted in him scratching his nose up raw and bloody out of being left alone for quite some time. I offered to pick him up right after surgery, to which the vet said that they'd like to keep him for monitoring (&of course they charge you for monitoring). - Completely tore my 3lbs dogs nail right side up, resulting in his quick being turned completely upward. They did NOT have enough common decency to remove this while he was already under anesthesia, but instead left it in tact adding more unnecessary pain to my dog who was already suffering. - I went in two times after the surgery because my dogs health was declining. He couldn't eat or drink and developed a hacking/gagging reflex post op, along with a nasal drip. All of things he has never had in his 15yrs of life, even after have a few other dentals done (back home with his original vet). -The heavy set Caucasian vet tech Talisha also spoke in a very rude and condescending tone with me, while I was trying to advocate for my dog. The vet also seemed annoyed with all my questions and just kept saying the hacking was due to all the stitches in my dogs mouth. We are a month out and these injuries are still present. Please look into a specialist for any oral surgeries and do not go here. I have regretted taking my dog here, and allowing these things to happen. He is such a good dog and did not deserve this. I will add in pictures of my dog right before going in, and then pictures of the horrible state he was in when I picked him up (after wiping the blood off his nose and mouth area).

Tim is great (as I'm sure the others are) and I never feel pressured when I take the kitties to the vet.

This place is more than a gem, it's necessary for peace of mind. As the owner of an exotic pet, I…read morehave unfortunately had to use Como Park's 24 hour emergency service more than once. They are responsive to phone calls, emails and are incredible kind to stressed out pet parents. They moved to a new location a bit over a year ago, which now has a much nicer waiting area. After our emergency visit, I got a follow up call checking on our pet and asking if there were any questions or concerns. Truly an indispensable service with kind and knowledgeable staff. I am so relieved they exist!!!

Our newly rescued Pomeranian spent 3 days at Como Park being treated for persistent pneumonia. We…read morewere blown away by the quality of care and the personal investment of each and everyone at Como Park Animal Hospital in bringing our dog back to life. We called at 3:45am on Good Friday and the hospital was too full to accept our pet (holidays, it seems, are often busy at the hospital). On the following day I called again, and my pet was admitted into the hospital for three days. He received dedicated, careful care, which explains why this policy of not over-admitting is so important. As soon as we came to the hospital on the weekend, our dog was taken back for triage. While he was being treated in the ICU, a technician came to talk over our Pom's case. He was just rescued, and his pneumonia was being treated for 9 days already without success. Our dog was hospitalized for 3 days. During this time, he was treated by four vets, all of whom were exceptional, though our favorite vet will always be Dr. Reis. She was invested 100% in brining our dog back to life. Together we created a treatment plan, with Dr. Reis always listening to my concerns and giving the best advice. I felt like I had a knowable partner in a difficult situation. Thank you, Dr. Reis!!! We were welcomed to visit our dog during his hospital stay whenever we wanted. We came 3 times a day, morning, noon and night, and we were always shown to a private comfortable room for a long, long visit. We brought food from home, which our dog was given by the staff during his stay. We also fed him during our visits. We called every day for updates on our dog between our visits, and each time the technician we spoke with was so kind, so loving to our dog and so helpful in providing us with all the information we required, including going over treatment plans daily. At last, the cost for our dog's stay was far less than we feared. Though we had asked that no cost be spared during treatment, in the the end the final bill was moderate. Thank you so much! This little dog is our family's Christmas present, and we are very grateful to Como Park Animal Hospital for giving him a chance to survive a cruel life of abuse prior to his rescue. Now, we have a chance to build a happy life together. Thank you!
