To start we had the fresh olives, ham, local cheeses and one from Azores that had a spicy bite which was to die for. Bread was also on the table which paired well with our starters. Our guide planned for us to have the Seabass as our main entree and it was hands down one of the best dishes I've ever had. The Seabass was brought to our table by Luis, played with peeled boiled potatoes, fresh green beans and a local vegetable served with fish that I can only describe closely to brocollini back home. Luis quickly deboned the fish for us, playing this beautifully delicious filets of Seabass. Unbelievably delicious! As we dug into our meal, we experienced a quiet moment that really only happens when amazing food is given. With our mouths full and bellies becoming very happy, Luis reappears with hot olive oil with garlic and starts to drizzle it over our meal...talk about the icing on the cake! Man, I knew Portugal had great olive oil but this was out of this world. I quickly grabbed my bread and began dipping it in the olive oil which is magic. The house red wine was also very good. I couldn't have been happier with the meal or the service. Casa do Luis is definitely a place and a meal we will remember!

We had a big group of ten at a long table overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches. Normally a great view and decent cuisine don't go hand and hand, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's about 10-15 minutes from Sintra, in the small village of Colares. Unlike Sintra, there aren't any tourists and it's truly locals only. We both got the steak and fries and it was the best steak ever. After we got done, the owner came over and chatted with us about the area and the restaurant. She's lovely and very proud of the restaurant. We asked her to pick out a dessert for us and she brought us cookie cake and it was SO good. When we were having lunch, a delivery came with fresh produce, so you know the food is fresh. The restaurant was authentic Portuguese food and worth the trip. If you're going to Sintra, I highly recommend coming here on your way! If I was a local, I'd eat here every meal. The best food and the best people. Truly felt like they welcomed me into their home.
