Ristorante Casalta, out of all of our dining in Tuscany was hands down our most favorite place to…read moredine. We came here several times during our 10 day stay in the area. The service, the ambiance, the view, the FOOD! We had the same waiter every visit, Francesco was his name I believe, and he is fabulous! He literally remembered every dish we had tried and new what to recommend on our next visits. We tried so much amazing authentic Tuscan food, desserts and wine. My favorite was the "lasagna" dish which blew my socks off. All the pastas were outstanding, the Bistecca alla Fiorentina also is a must try. We pretty much worked our way through the entire regular menu throughout our stay, we didn't get through the seafood menu sadly. I do remember we had the calamari and it's the best I've ever eaten, super tender! On our final night they surprised us with a custom dessert plate with all sorts of samplings, it was both beautiful, thoughtful and scrumptious. Be sure to sit on the back deck and watch the sun set over the vineyards, it's magical and not to be missed. Someday I hope we may return to visit Casalta, it certainly won't be forgotten.

The waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered the salmon carpaccio to start with. The fish was sliced into cubes instead of sheets, make for great bites. I ordered the pizza sam, it was amazing! A mix of cheeses and fresh tomatoes with olive oil drizzled across the top. The crust was done perfectly, thin but with some bounce, the sauce was flavorful and well seasoned, and the cheeses were fresh and flavorful. Heaven in a bite. My wife ordered the pasta with boor sauce. I didnt get a bite because I had pizza on my mind.......but she said it was just perfect.

Really enjoyed this place. It's simple, seems like a local roadhouse. It's attached to a not very…read morefancy hotel, and is next door to a local youth athletic building (huge parking lot, free). We were looking for an everyday kind of meal, after too many fancy, "Best in Town" places. Just wanted something casual and decent. Stumbled across this, only because it was convenient. The staff was courteous and helpful, in spite of a language barrier that we all manage to crawl over. All we had was a salad and a calzone, and a bottle of water. The salad was nice and fresh, the calzone was huge (see photo), but not plump with stuffing, as I've had them at home. Never had one in Italy before, so this may be normal. It was more like a pizza, folded in half, with mozzarella, artichokes, olives, ham and sausage inside, and some tomato sauce and olive oil outside. At any rate, it was tasty, and I enjoyed it. While we waited for our order, the table was graced with the round things in my photo. They were balls of bread dough, about4cm in diameter, baked, and tasting very cheesy, although I could not see the cheese in them. Delicious, and free, and a basket of bread was served, too. The prices were beyond reasonable. Cover 1 euro each. Big water, 1, calzone was 6 or 8, and I forgot what the salad cost. I'd go back, except we left the area this morning
