I recently returned for another wonderful stay at Kripalu, in an R&R stay. My room as expected was…read moreclean and comfortable. I booked two services in the healing arts a Therapeutic Massage and a Chinese Astrology reading. My masseuse was wonderful at helping my begin the process of releasing all the tense muscles in my lower back and neck after a recent flare up of my chronic pain condition due to an existing spinal injury. They were careful and checked in with my along the way about pressure and comfort in the process. I felt very comfortable throughout and though I left sore (which I expect when working out the tense muscles after a flare) I felt more functional and saw a decrease in movement pain shortly after. I have had encounters with the astrologer on staff in my past visits to Kripalu once in leading a workshop on Chinese Astrology and another on a shamanic full moon ceremony. I felt that the reading and insight Beth provided was very accurate to what has framed me in my life where I've been and a bit of where I'm going. I would definitely recommend adding on a few things if time and budget allows. They truly made the experience better. As always, the food was exceptional and I found plenty of options in the schedule for movement practices, new learning opportunities as well as plenty of cozy corners and spaces to relax and do what feels best for you. They have plenty of options for books, games and puzzles to entertain you. I am also a huge fan of walking through their onsite store and left with a few new goodies to commemorate the trip. I am forever grateful for to Kripalu and their staff after every visit for always leaving feeling like I've been taken care of for a few days. I cannot wait for my next trip out.

Kripalu's booking website is glitchy and it double-charged me for a one-night stay -- meaning it…read morecharged me twice for one night in one room. When you call in to fix booking issues, you're sent to a robot. So I kept calling until I reached a human. He acknowledged the error and told me to wait a few days and the charge would disappear from my card. When the charge was still on my card after a few days, I emailed reservations @ kripalu to explain what was going on. No response. The extra $400 is still on my card and I don't know what to do. This is the worst customer service I've ever experience from any hotel-like place! Plus, side note: many of their rooms do not have a/c, even in the blazing 95-degree summer. The Berkshires are lovely, but if you go there, stay somewhere else!

I first met Karden Rabin at Radiance Yoga on North street in Pittsfield after hearing great things…read moreabout his Monday night MELT class. After the class I felt a lot less body tightness and pain, but chatted with him about lower back pain that had been ongoing for 4 years. He informed me that he had a studio in West Stockbridge where he does body work and massage. I ended up making an appointment not having any idea what to expect. I won't try to expain what he did but after pointing out that I stand crooked he did some poking and prodding in different spots. I then stood and I was standing much straighter. I was good for about 3 days and my back went back to being sore. Being that my back had been hurt for 4 years I wasn't expecting a miracle so I went back and saw him again explaining my back was still locking up. Karden taught me a few more things after working on my muscles poking and prodding again. I am now aware of why my back was hurting and I'm more aware of body and how I carry myself. It's been about a week since my second visit and I've had no back pain at all, and in fact with the things he taught me I decided to try to get back to deadlifting which I had stayed away from for nearly a year. To my surprise, not only was I able to do some deadlifting pain free I broke my personal record pulling 405lbs with not even the slightest amount of pain. I can not say enough about the amazing work Karden does. I would recommend anyone having chronic body pain to go see Karden, it might just change your life.

Boundless is a wonderful addition to the Berkshires. The team of fantastic health practitioners…read moreoffer a wide variety of services. They are warm and friendly. They each have years of experience and really know what they're doing. Oh! Did I mention reasonable rates? There's just too many places in the area with high prices and then they add 20% mandatory tip on top of that. This place is the real deal, just try it once and you'll know what I mean. AND after your treatment you can go around the block to Six Depot for great food and great people.
