!UPDATE! Quite deceptive! So Georgia Coatings has the consumer sign a contract and in the BACK of this CARBON COPY you sign (who writes on the back of a contract especially on carbon copy paper) it states you must go through the BBB arbitration process to remedy any issues you have with them(which caps out at $3500). They also do NOT show you nor give you the actual "warranty" until the job is complete then it is mailed stating that your payment in full was an agreement to their contract. More loop holes than a used car warranty! The company forced me to go through the long process of arbitration. I was awarded a small portion of the damages they caused and the to pay someone else to replace the boards I paid this company to fix. $1,466 to be exact. Even worse it's not even been a year and we are back to square one! The initial reason we made this $20,000 "investment" was because we had an issue with wood peckers getting through the siding but we were reassured that this product would remedy our issue and be good and guaranteed for at least 25 years...well not even one year later we have multiple holes in the siding again and the paint is chipping. This company has been deceptive and dishonest throughout the entire process. Save yourself the time and frustration this company did not provide skilled workers nor complete the scope of work paid for and they completely lied about their products ability and warranty. read more

I dodged a bullet! I applied for Rhino Shield payment plan but I am in a zip code that is often denied services or Red Lined. My credit score is in the high 700's but they denied my application. I put Hardy Plank siding on my house instead. Every time I see Jeff and Roxanne pitching rhino shield I get annoyed. But from the number of bad reviews I see here I dodged a bullet. read more

What a rip off! This is a scam! The sales men tell you anything. I was able to negotiate the price by $6000 its worse than dealing with a used car salesman. I still got ripped off this product does not last a year let alone 25 years. Stay away from this company!! The 25 year warranty is worthless. Fading started to occur after just 3 years and at 5 years the paint looks awful and wood that was determined to be good after their initial inspection has completely rotted (wood that was determined as bad or questionable was replaced by them before painting). I have seen homes with 15 year old contractor paint in better shape. The entire reason for having Rhino Shield done was to avoid having to have the house repainted every 5 to 8 years, which was part of Jeff's sales pitch. So, at 5 years, we are having to have the house repainted after spending over $17,000 5 years ago to keep from having the house repainted every 5-8 years. So, why is the warranty worthless?? Because it apparently does not cover fading, something that was stated during the sales pitch that would not occur due to the high UV resistance of this coating and hence the reason you wouldn't have to paint your house for 25 years. Sure, they'll fix the wood, minus the window that has rotted out because they don't do that, and respray the house for just under $7k. If we had known this at the time, we would never have gone with this company. This is definitely a case where you DO NOT get what you pay for! Description of work: I've waiting 5.5 years to create this review. I had my entire house (hardy plank siding with wood trim) in 2012. Rhino Shield of Georgia also repaired every trim area they identified to be rotting or needing replacement before painting. The entire job took several weeks to complete. I spent triple what my neighbors spent to repaint my fairly new home (built 2005) because I "never wanted to paint again". A few years later (3-4) all the belly boards and trim (on 2 levels) around the circumference of my house, as well as several window's trim were now rotting and needed to be replaced. Because I wanted to maintain my Rhino Shield guarantee, I paid them for labor and supplies (not paint...that was covered) to make all the repairs. Now, 2017, the very window that Rhino Shield replaced and painted/coated have rotted again. When I had the company out to inspect they offered to allow me to pay for supplies and labor again (paint would be no charge) but after I also paid to have the surfaces power washed (I personally don't believe power washing helps rotting wood). I declined to have them re-repair the very same window frames they replaced only a few years earlier. After further inspection, many of the windows coated with Rhino Shield have also rotted. I have had 2 window contractors "tell me" (I wouldn't ask them to swear because it's only their professional experience and opinion) that the Rhino Shield coating allowed water under the coating where it was trapped and rotted the window. The coating has held up on the hardy plank (which is no surprise) but on wood trim, window trim and window frames, it has possibly accelerated damage. For the money that I've spent for Rhino Shield I could have had my house completely painted and maintained (replacing trim, etc.) 3 times (I've got the quotes and 296 almost identical homes in my neighborhood to make a compelling case). I am now required to replace all the windows in my home, all the window trim inside and out, and repaint in less than 6 years after I thought I was buying a 25 year solution. read more

Was initially impressed with Rhino Shield - especially considering the 25 year warranty. When the crews were out, I was told the paint would be 11 mil thickness - it wasn't, more around 3-5 mil depending on where I looked (1 mil is 1 sheet of paper) but I figured if we ever had problems, we got the 25 year warranty to fall back on. I paid $17,000.00 for this job - mostly due to the 25 year "guarantee". The coating is now 6 years old and starting to chip & peel in areas and now have some wood rot at the base of our west facing front door, so I called the people who installed it, they came out and said "Yep, that's covered under warranty and we'll call you to schedule a date to repair" The rep just called back and gave me two options - they can ship the paint to me to do myself or pay them $500 to come out and repair. He stated that the 25 year warranty doesn't cover labor. I am sooooo mad right now I could spit. What a freaking rip off - stay away from Rhino Shield read more

Tried to make an appointment for an estimate. They wanted to only come out if my wife would also be available. I tried to explain she would not be involved in the process. However, they would not make an appointment with just me. If a company is unable to listen and understand a customer's needs before the transaction, they probably can't serve their needs after the sale. read more

I had this company apply Rhino Shield to my soffits, garage door frame, fascia, gutter and downspouts on my 2-story house in 2010 for $2,800. I have a 25-year warranty that in the 2nd to 10th year of the warranty, the maximum I would be charged for service labor would be no more than 10% of the "Nationally Advertised Price". After having to wait almost two months for them to get back to me, they told me recently (2017) I would have to pay $1,000 which would include $300 power washing and $800 being 10% of the current "Nationally Advertised Price". They actually confirmed that the price to have this work done today would be $8,000!!!! Really?!?! Needless to say, I went with a reputable paint company and had the same structures painted for a fifth of that cost. Horrible customer service and a sham regarding the warranty!!! read more

In 2012, I had my house painted by Georgia Coatings with RhinoShield. I even had them put RhinoShield on my copper awning. Fast forward two and a half years... RhinoShield has been a great product for everything but the copper awning. I called Georgia Coatings and they took care of me even though it had been three years. They removed it from the awning and replaced it with a different product designed for copper surfaces - at no additional cost to me. Very pleased with RhinoShield and Georgia Coatings response to my problem. read more
