I just bought a brand new Hyundai Elantra for my daughter's first car. To my surprise when we…read morepicked it up and were being showed everything, we found out that it doesn't come with a spare (donut). What?? I've never bought a car that didn't have a spare! Anyways, they wanted $300 for the donut and jack which was outrageous after paying $20K for a car! I called around to junk yards and could only find it at Middle Country Auto Wreckers in Centereach. They had a number of them, pulled from Hyundai cars that didn't even hit the road so they were brand new. They were courteous and fair in pricing them at $100 for the tire and jack. They didn't look to take advantage of me because they know this is a hot item to find. So, I'm sharing this information with other fellow Hyundai owners that were duped as well. Go there, you won't be sorry! :-) Hyundai spare tire kit

That was back when you used to be able to fix it yourself. Now car engines are all computerized and cost a small fortune to fix. They have been in business in the same spot for about 50 years. Their prices are fair. We have an older car in the family which we needed a part to and they found it for us. Felt good to get my hands dirty again. Like old times.

I have to say, it was a pleasure dealing with John and The Goonies…read more One of my Yelp buds is always saying, sell the old Jeep and buy a new one. Here's the thing with old cars and I have two of them. They no longer make the freon to charge the AC, some parts are hard too come by and it costs to repair them. Psst! When you have a Jeep, its a car that will run and run and run... My 2001 TJ, There's 150K on the clock and the engine light came on. I also noticed the tranny was starting to slip. I'm not going to any old tranny shop, I'm going to Goonie's Garage. Meeting with John, the guy is a Jeep Einstein. I show him the car, he drives it and knows exactly what's needed. I go into the shop and see all the Jeeps getting some crazy mods. Lift kits, wheels, and frame repairs are all happening here. My Jeep? I had the frame done a year ago and the transfer case done two years ago. Now the tranny needs work, that's it! There is nothing else to these cars. I dropped off the Jeep and told John to take his time. This is my baby and it has to keep ticking for a few more years. He went to work, he called me saying he found some original tranny tubes from 2001, the replacement tubes being made today wont rot. Yes, I told him to order them as well. After all said and done, I'm seeing better gas mileage? My Jeep is now running like a Swiss watch! If you have a Jeep, don't go anywhere else. Talk to John, he'll set you straight on what needs to be done. Goonie's and Jeeps never say die!
