It was better shaded before they improved it with the new sports complex, but at least they did plant trees to replace the ones that were torn down. Unfortunately, it will take a while to grow big enough to provide decent shade. That said, it's still a nice walking park. You can get about a mile by walking the trail once. It starts in the parking lot, wraps around a pond and then back to the parking lot. Oreo like it!

I arrived around 9:30am and had plenty of parking, but by the time I left at about 10:50, the lot was completely full and cars were lining the road near the entrance , definitely a popular spot as the morning goes on. The trail system is easy to navigate. As you face the visitor center, trails branch off to both the right and left, and all of them connect with one another, making it impossible to get lost. The bridge is at the right side trail entrance. The paths are mostly easy with just a few small hills, perfect for a relaxed walk or a casual weekend outing. I looped around a couple of times and enjoyed how peaceful and shaded the area felt. Overall, Ray Harral is a great place for a simple, refreshing nature walk.

The Center is actually a paralympic sports club which is what got my attention originally, but there is so much more here at thr Center. There is something for everyone whatever your goals and interests are. One of my passions is powerlifting and aside from a variety of machines to work on they do not offer a powerlifting program yet. I am hoping this will change for they are rapidly adding new sports all the time. Most recently adaptive cycling and wheelchair curling were added to the reportoire this semester.They also have a paralympic skill builders program which focuses on introducing several different new sports such as archery, wheelchair rugby and badminton, as well as some pre-existing ones such as wheelchair basketball and tennis! There are adult members here of all age ranges....come check it out!! My rating will be a perfect score for me when the powerlifting is ever added, but I am glad to be a member and invite others to come visit and see what is here for you.

We realized how we've been rather careless, especially in grocery store parking lots, which Ms Fulbright labeled as the main hunting grounds for criminals. Outdoor facilities include a Junior pool, sports fields, water playground, lighted tennis courts, shelter, playground, one-mile trail, picnic tables. The whole complex looks new and well maintained. The outdoor playgrounds are very nice. This is a nice addition to the community. People with children would love the water park area and playgrounds.

Of course it was stunning and scary and I was shell-shocked seeing the beauty of the trees and the construction of the park itself. this place is a special place to me now. I return sometimes just to remember where I came from and the magic of the quantum random universe. I still don't know why it happened here in this park. I have a gap in memory from the transfer from 1919 to this year. but i appreciate the happenstance.
