I had a go at fixing my own bathtub when it leaked because my experience with plumbers has never been great. They always seem to overcharge and not do a particularly good job, especially on small jobs. When I realized I was not going to be able to do the job myself, I had to find a plumber anyway. With R G Plumbing though I was pleasantly surprised. Dan came out when he said he would, he had to get Rick out with some spare parts but still got the whole job done within a couple of hours. Needed a new water heater. They did a great job and were professional. However, a lot of water was accidentally turned on with an open pipe and the floor was covered. Wasn't an issue they had water leak but they left puddles in the corners after they left and said to watch it to see if it dries on it's own. As a home owner I hate water sitting up against my baseboards and furnace. Wished they did a better job cleaning up. Would recommend to friends and family. Knowledgeable and kind. read more

After they told me that I needed a permit to change out a hot water heater, the additional charges that they were going to charge me were nearly $2000 which is about a $1000 higher than any other plumber of ever come across. Rick was so great! On a Friday morning at 7:30 am we woke up to no hot water! Upon further investigation, we discovered our water heater bubbling water out the vent...not good! I was a little nervous about wether or not we could get someone to help us by the time the had to leave town by 2:30. Because we recently moved into the area we don't know anyone. Rick is great. Very trustworthy and knowledgeable. When I first called him, I didn't even know what was wrong, I just knew I wasn't getting any hot water. He was really nice at explaining what might've broken, what my options were, and was very consistent with what he said and did, even though it almost took me two weeks to say ok let's do this. Not once did I hear a comment like "oh, looks like you gotta replace it! That'll be $1000." Including repairs and parts, the new heater, and service calls, I doubt I paid over $800. I had my water heater break, and his cost to replace it was half of what Whipple quoted me at, and almost 1/4 of Home Depot (who both, by the way, made a point to tell me how stupid I was for having the brand and size of heater, plus lack of knowledge about the subject). He actually tried multiple things to fix it before I was the one that threw up my hands and said oh just replace it. Not once did I hear a "oh looks like you need a new one" or "well it would be easier if you just replaced it." PLUS he's not this huge company, so you know from the start who will be coming to your house. Also great on time. Consistently gave me within 15 minutes of specific arrival time.
