It had 3 extenders, but at the shortest length - 18" - it was still too long. I asked that the whole section of 3 extenders get moved up to be shorter. We agreed on the length I would like the shortest extender in the chain to be - 15". I explained that this would be perfect, as I could then have the options of the extender lengths - 15", 16", 17". I would not have a chance to try it on with my dress before the wedding, so I needed these options as I did not know what length would look best. I explained all this to the associate. On Thursday, I picked up the necklace and they had not done what I asked. They had simply added one extender at 15". This meant my options were 15" (very short) or 18", 19", 20" (all too long). I did not have the in between options I asked for. The associate was defensive and said she had done what I asked for and that I hadn't communicated well. I had talked to her for quite a while about needing the length options - she just wasn't listening it seems. She said they would redo it, but I would have to pay both times. I agreed because I needed the necklace for my wedding in two days, but was bothered she wouldn't admit the error and have it redone under the original charges. On Saturday - the day of my wedding - I was getting my hair and makeup done nearby and planned to pick it up. I got a message around 11am saying they didn't have the correction done. We picked it up and they insisted on charging $48 for the (incorrect) change they had originally made. I wore the necklace for my wedding at a different length than I wanted, and now it still needs to be adjusted the way I asked for, so as to have 3 shorter length options for the future. So I will have to take it to a different jeweler and pay to have Landsberg's work corrected. I assume that if a business is doing work related to a wedding, they will put care into it. That was not my experience. Between the error and the defensiveness, I would not recommend this place. If you decide to use their services, I suggest you draw out what you're looking for.

The ring was a gift from the staff of P.S. 151Q, when I retired over twenty years ago. Jay, the owner was kind and very professional and totally fastidious about cleanliness. He examined my ring and explained that what I thought was a missing stone was actually a "junction" space, but that there was a stone at one end of the design that was cracked and needed replacement and the one that I originally came in about. He took pictures, measured, took my information and told me he would need two weeks. I paid the very fair price, and was surprised to get a text on Wednesday that my ring was ready. The ring that my grandson picked up for me yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, shined and polished and sparkling with its two new diamonds. The woman who answered the phone was curt and unpleasant from the second she picked up. Rather than answering my questions, she immediately became condescending and started explaining how watch batteries work--which wasn't what I had asked. I then asked whether they guarantee their work. Instead of answering professionally, she responded in a tone that made it seem like I had asked a ridiculous question: "Of course we stand by our work." Since that didn't actually answer what I meant, I clarified by asking what the warranty on the battery replacement was. Her response? In an even nastier tone: "We don't warranty our batteries. No one does that." That statement turned out to be completely false. Their quoted price was $65 just for a battery replacement, so I called a few other reputable jewelers. I ended up having the battery replaced for just over $21, and it included a two-year warranty on the battery replacement. It's one thing to charge a premium for exceptional service and expertise. It's another to be rude, dismissive, and confidently tell a customer that "no one" offers something that multiple competitors clearly do. Customer service starts with the first phone call, and unfortunately this establishment failed that test spectacularly. When my watches or jewelry need servicing in the future, Manfredi won't even be a consideration.
