When did Reyes Barbecue get so expensive? I recall Reyes Barbecue being a good place to get a cheap meal a few years ago. It was affordable, the food was nakakabusog, and I really loved their barbecue sauce. Coming back to have lunch in Reyes Barbecue now, not much has changed, except for the price increase across the board, prolly cause of the effects of inflation on meat prices. (Sorry, I'm an economics student.)
Anyways, Reyes Barbecue's, well, barbecue, is slightly smaller this time around. It's not exactly noticeable, and their 2 stick with rice still makes for a serviceable meal, but I got this weird feeling that I could get roughly the same thing from Mang Inasal but with unlimited rice, a drink, and with bigger sticks for the same price. But for me, there's still no beating that sweet, tasty barbecue sauce they seem to smother their meats in. If I had to go by flavor, I'd say that Reyes is one of the most tasty fairly affordable barbecue offerings out there. But don't expect to reaaally get your money's worth. read more
